  1. Tamiya has release a specific greenish-grey color that they believe is correct for the zero. It is XF-76 I think. As for whether or not it is "the" correct color, who knows?
  2. E-3? Ok, I couldn't resist. E7-E4=E3. :D
  3. Great news. Hope it is good. We needed a replacement for the venerable Tamiya offering.
  4. A wonderful F-4. I've always liked the German schemes.
  5. Can't wait to see how this one turn out. I am rally interested in the layered paint techniques.
  6. Welcome back. Glad to have you.
  7. I learned this the hard way. as gluing something and got some excess superglue on my thumb. Sprayed the kit part with accelerator, and man, did it generate HEAT! Blistered my thumb. Be careful out there.
  8. Where did you get it and how do you apply it?
  9. I love that car. Can't wait to see it done.
  10. Looks nice. Glad to see someone finishing from the "started" pile.
  11. Don, I hate acrylics, so take everything below with that in mind. For me, by far, the best acrylics for airbrushing are the Tamiya acrylics. Also, for your applications, they have a wide range of colors suitable for autos, so all your cars don't look like WWII german tanks. Use the tamiya thinner. Some people use other thinner, but I am a big believer in using the thinner formulated for the specific paint brand. Why do I hate acrylics? Because I've never found any, including Tamiya, that spray quite as nice as an enamel.
  12. Didn't know that AQS is considering moving.
  13. For those of you with quilter wives, you need to take them to the National Quilting Museum in Paducah, KY. It is amazing.
  14. Ralph and all, Has Eduard said anything about replacing the canopies on the alreadfy issued kits?
  15. James, Since there doesn't seem to be an IPMS review of this one pending, how about submitting one for the website? I am sure John would appreciate it.
  16. Very nice model James.
  17. Couldn't do that. Each one is a story to me.
  18. Very nice. You've done a really nice job.
  19. Very nice job. BTW, any particular reason you've been doing "restorations"?
  20. Heck, I think I'd do them from small brass or steel wire. Probably easier than messing with plastic and much better looking than flat photoetch IMHO.
  21. Thanks, that is interesting. I hope there is an E-1 as a kit or a conversion.
  22. Does anyone make either an Me-109E-1 in 72nd scale or a conversion for one of the E-3/4 kits on the market to take it back to an E-1?
  23. I've never heard of spraying Alclad II over an acrylic black. I've always seen it done over either an enamel or a lacquer. Don't know if that made a difference. I've always sprayed Alclad II over either Model Master Gloss Black, the Alclad II Gloss Black primer or over Future applied to bare plastic.
  24. A couple of better photos. A local club member is trying to teach me some better photography. I am a slow learner. and
