  1. Mark, I completely agree. That is what I'd love to have had them do. However, as an aircraft modeler, I live to be disappointed.
  2. I suspect that it is because the Quickboost one is the right size. My guess is that the right size is the "correction".
  3. I picked this kit specifically because I had ehard good things about its fit. It is the best engineered kit I've ever built. The detail is great. The fit is perfect. I was able to participate in the Blitzbau because the modelwife and modelchild were out of town. I highly recommend participating in one of these if you can. Heck, I'd love to see somebody organize one on the IPMS fourms.
  4. Right around 24hrs, give or take 15 minutes.
  5. The paint is Tamiya acrylic sea blue. It comes out flat, but that wasn't a problem since I had to gloss for decals. The gloss is Future. Unfortunately, for these blitz builds, you have to use acrylics to get the quick drying time you need. Over on the UAMF they are pretty whimsical sometimes. Throwing in unusual clocks and mugs or other bits to the build story keeps things interesting. I had a blast.
  6. Like Jeff S, I too participated in the "Blitzbau" over on The Unofficial Airfix Modelers Forum. You can follow my build of the Tamiya kit here. While not nearly as fast a builder as Jeff, I was able to finish the kit. Great kit. Fun time, and best of all, a post about building models!
  7. Love the 104. Nice build.
  8. I like that idea. Very out of the box. ;)
  9. James, That would be my bet too. Would you like to go for the daily double?
  10. Wonderful. More please.
  11. I love that. Which kit? What scale?
  12. Very nice. White is hard to do.
  13. I need help finding a photograph or any information on the markings of the F4U-1D of VMF-312 that Maj. Richard M. Day was flying when he was killed in 1945. I particularly need the side number and Bu. No. of the aircraft. I know the general marking of the aircraft. I've already found this site: http://www.f4ucorsair.com/vmf312/312.html that has a nice photo of Maj. Day, but not a photo of his aircraft. All help appreciated.
  14. I love the German special occasion markings. They are some of the best around. Thanks for posting a photo of a model. Happy to see modeling going on.
  15. Wow, modeling realted posts! Seriously, great photos!
  16. Good to see a finished blitzbuild!
  17. Nice to see them admit the mistake. Too bad in their May Newsletter they threw a hissy fit when they were initially challenged on the problem. Also leaves the question of whether or not they will supply replacements on the kits already bought. BTW, you said Dragon. You meant Eduard.
  18. Do you know if this kit is properly licensed?
  19. Mr. Isby, I know there is a BMP-1 and a T-72 at the Patton Museum at Ft. Knox. There isn't a T-62 there, but they may have a collection of photos from the First Gulf War. Their email is: knox.museum@conus.army.mil Here is the website link to the museum library. http://www.generalpatton.org/education/library.asp
  20. Thanks. Looks like it is out of stock. Shame. I'll keep an eye on it. David
  21. Very nice job on a dog of a kit. A real silk purse out of a sow's ear.
  22. Wish I could drop that much. Not in the cards right now.
