  1. Hear, Hear on Humbrol. Great stuff.
  2. I like it. The scheme is really attractive.
  3. I hate all acrylics. Tamiya a Vallejo Air are the "least bad", but no acrylic I've found sprays like an enamel. Polly S is the worst. I don't even use it any more for brushpainting details. Gave or threw all of mine away long ago. I feel your pain.
  4. Here is a link to one of the entries. On the right side of his blog is a list of subjects. One of them is Martin Maryland.
  5. John, Chris B. has been building one. Check out the artciles on his blog. Click on the Maryland link on the right side of the blog.
  6. Very nice. What did you think of the kit?
  7. I guess you could, but since it was designed for me, I'd have to ask the guy who designed it. I don't see why not. I will tell you that I get very little air leakage. I have a silent compressor with air tank and automatic on off switch. When I have the compressor on and am not using the brushes, the compressor doesn't kick on very often to refill the tank, meaning I am losing little air. You still would shut the air off at the tank when not in use, just as I shut my compressor off when I am not airbrushing, but as long as you do a good job with thread tape and tightening the fittings, I don't think you would lose much air from your tank while you had your main valve open.
  8. I would agree, but I just love it. I had the idea for a few years, but it took a fellow club members, and engineer for Lexmark, to actually tell me how to build it. He even sent me a link to a website with all the parts to order. Since I hooked it up, painting has been a lot easier. Best thing I've done for my modeling since I bought a Pace airbooth.
  9. Here is the "Hydra" that a modeling friend designed for me. I have 4 airbrushes hooked up and running at once. About $15 in parts and took 15 minutes to assemble. You have to make sure you use thread tape to avoid excess air leakage.

Yea. great venue for a model contest.
  11. Doesn't somebody make the FJ-3 in 72nd?
  12. Very nice, and a fitting tribute to Mr. Hall.
  13. Is it a repop of old Frog molds?
  14. They are not, but as stated above, there is an adaptor. I have four airbrushes, and a guy in our club, an engineer, designed something that I call the Hydra that allows me to have all four brushes hooked up at the same time. Total cost in parts was about $15 dollars. It does make painting easier, not having to go back and clean a brush or switch connections when painting several different colors. It really makes the current "shading and paneling" style paint jobs easier. I'll try and take a picture of this thing and post it here. I love it.
  15. Sweet. I really like that camo scheme. Not something you will see every day.
  16. I enjoyed building this kit when I was younger. Thanks for the memories.
  17. John, These GB are a great idea. Mr. Hall was truly the "father of modern aircraft modeling". I met him once at a US Nats. I forget which one. Very nice.
  18. Good to see Airfix doing new kits again. Hope it goes well for them.
  19. Use Microscale Decalcote. Spray it over the sheet and it may help hold the old decals together.
  20. Pat, How many tables did they have for this year? I know in the past it has run between 79-85 or thereabouts.
  21. Got to say that if I can find 24 hours, or maybe 48hrs without the modelwife and modelchild, I'd like to try one of these. Although I don't think I will try a kit that is nearly that ambitious.
  22. Ok, what music goes with a blitz build? Just curious.
  23. I do hope you do it again in 09. I'll be interested to see what gets released in 09 that qualifies.
  24. Strip and repaint. I use Polly scale Easy Lift Off (ELO) Others use brake fluid or oven cleaner. Good luck.
