Rusty, How big would your balloon be H x W? I suspect the platen on the Mattel vac might be too small for what you need.

Very nice job. I agree that the new Airfix kits are very nice. I have heard that this particular kit is an update of their old MiG-15 and there were rumblings about its shape. I'd love to know more.

The 500 is rather thick. I tend to us either the 1000 or 1200.

I use to watch the TV show all the time. I am enjoying watching this build.

Go to Walmart and get a cheap Tupperware turntable. Very cheap. They are usually sold for cakes. Also get a "cake keeper", to keep dust off an in progress model.

I prefer some of the other products on the market. I found that Micro Mask was a little harder to remove than some others and it dries a little clearer and thus makes it a little harder to see where the mask is when dry.

If you are looking at a new airbrush, look at the Badger Velocity. Awesome brush. If you are just getting back and want to get a new brush cheap, look at a Badger 200, it is single action and has less of a learning curve than a double action brush.

I've had the X-acto roll off the table and stick straight up in my big toe. I also have had superglue on my skin when I hit it will accelerator. The searing heat and resulting blister were not to be believed.

CRM and Mark Twain are the two I always hit.

Don't put a Frank on a carrier deck. It is an Army a/c. No tail hook, not used on carriers.
