It's a new year and now for some new models. Here are the first models I started for 2011, as well as some models that were started last year but not finished. Here's a couple I started last year. One is almost finished. The YF-12A is painted and ready for decals. After that, I just need to detail it out and it'll be done. I may even have this finished before the month is out: This next one is a model I picked up at the Nationals in Phoenix. This is the R100 airship I started some time back. Getting the lower part of the mooring building done was tough since there were so many gaps I needed to fill in hard-to-sand areas. I managed to finally get it done well enough to move on. Here's the mooring building next to the airship with a nice view of my disorganized workbench behind: Now for the models I started this year. Here is the first one. This is the RPM 1/72 scale Hochkiss H39 that has been a pain to build from the get-go. Bad seams, tough fit, excessively tiny parts, and finally, a missing fender. Don't know when I'll get this finished; it depends on when I find that fender: Next is an easier kit to do. This is the RevellAG 1/72 scale German bridge-layer tank based on the Leopard I. I got the bridge part done (it separates) and the roadwheels are on the torsion bars: Next is another RevellAG kit, the up-armored Warrior APC in 1/72 scale. I have most of it done; I just need a coat of paint on it before I add the tracks and finish the assembly: These next two are a couple of simple kits I picked up for a buck or two each. This one is the Heller Hawker Tempest in 1/72 scale: This last one is an old Hawk kit of a US Coast Guard cutter in WWII configuration. A very simple kit; I'm not even sure what class of vessel or what name it has: Well, that's about all I got done so far for this year. Thanks all for looking and comments are welcome!

Hey all! I'm off to a slow start this year but I finally got one done and here it is. This is the old MPC/AMT USNAS Akron naval airship in 1/500 scale. Some years back I built the USNAS Macon, her sister ship so now I have both of them. Here is the Akron: I sprayed her with Tamiya Flat Aluminum over the balloon part, then painted steel onto the engine pods. I also painted all the vents and windows on. It is wearing it's original decals. Later I'll get a shot of the Akron and Macon together. Until then, thanks all for looking and comments are welcome.

Yeah, I love Firefly also; got the DVD set and the Serenity movie. I've only seena couple episodes of Farscape, but it seemed interesting. Might have to look into it more.

I remember that show, but can't remember what it was about. I would love to get ahold of one of those DVD sets to see it again.

Well, I'm just a 1/72 scale armor modeler, but the glues I've used on those old school vinyl tracks are either Gorilla Glue, or that PVA glue this is used to fasten PVC piping together. Never had a problem. In fact, the tracks ended up breaking in other places beside the join because they were glued so strong. I agree about Dragon tracks. They ROCK! I've found that Trumpeter's black vinyl tracks also hold well with old-style Testor's orange tube glue.

That Heyford is incredible! Well done also on the finish on the 727. Very impressive.

Well, my 2011 projects will be what I didn't finish last year, as well as the 1/32nd jet I'm building. Plus, I have two airships as well as a modern US Cruiser and an armored train to finish. This is what is planned so far; it doesn't include the 40+ other models I might decide to start and finish this year.

Chris, great output with some very high quality models! Those look awesome! Gil, I know, I'm so embarrassed But you do have a way with words my man! Yeah, I did have a whole month of not producing anything, that's when I was doing a major home repair project. Hopefully this year I'll catch up and even surpass that; although I do hope to be getting more large jobs as well. And Gil, just put all your models you built in 2010 on a table and shoot them all at once!

Here they are sorted out by type and nation. I didn't want to take the extra time to list them by month they were finished in. I'll start out with my ships since I only finished one this past year. Well, here's more progress. It's going to be tight getting these done by the end of the year. Here's the B-25. I got the decals on and used copious amounts of Solvaset since these were the original MPC decals. The cloudiness you see will go away once I re-coat this in Future. I've had this happen before and it always goes away. Next, I got almost all the assembly done on the YF-12A. Here she is sitting on her landing gear: Just a couple seams to fix and then I can get her painted. This is a view of the underside showing the AIM 47 AA Missiles. These were built specifically for this aircraft and were also the predecessors of the AIM 54 Phoenix Missile: And finally, I got the camo pattern on my ERC 90 Sagaie armored car. Next up: clearcoat, decals, dullcoat and weathering. That's about all for now. Stay tuned for more.
