  1. Thanks guys! I appreciate the great comments. Rick, I will, as soon as I finish showing them at my IPMS meeting tonight. James, I hear ya! My father's plane (AC-130) made it back from a mission on only one engine once. Two had been knocked out by AA gunfire, the third quit 2/3rds of the way home. They still managed to land just fine.
  2. Thanks Dan! I love seeing people post their personal experiences here. Great info. There's nothing like getting it straight from "the horse's mouth" so to speak.
  3. Thanks Chris! I got more coming
  4. Rob those all look fantastic to me. Greta job. I wish I could get my washes to look as good as the one on your Type 90! That skill still eludes me.
  5. Thanks Brian! I love these planes too, as I always got to walk through them at every airshow my Air Force officer dad took us to. Besides, he was also a navigator on AC-130s as well which adds to my love of this plane. Thanks Bob! I appreciate it. Well, I haven't built one yet from Airfix so I can't really say. I do eventually want to get the one carrying the Bloodhound missile and build it.Hopefully someday soon.
  6. Thanks Bob! I'm getting up there that's for sure! I don't remember where I got these particular tractor trailer trucks, but I get alot of my PST kits from a guy named Ivan that i see at model shows. I've heard he has an online shop too; my friend Dave has the address/link,. Another guy named Dmitri also ios able to get some of these and I'll occasionally pick one or two up from him. I already have almost the whole line right now anyway so I haven't gotten too many more.
  7. Thanks Mark! I got three more trucks I'll be starting so yeah, I'm rolling! I like that semi too. I have another one to build; I may add that to the other three I'm starting.
  8. Thanks Gil! Dpon't worry,. a ceiling beam is the ONLY place I have left to put these! Thanks! The USAF one is a Testor's kit and the British one is Italeri. They are both in 1/72 scale, since that is the only scale I build my aircraft and armor in.
  9. The count goes up. Here's another five armor models I've finished up so far this year. Three of these are the Hasegawa dump trucks in 1/72 scale. I found three of them in thew stash so I decided to build them all. They have different numbers on the hood, but that is about the only difference in these trucks. Here's the first one, number 4456136: Next is number 665137: And finally, number 802048: This next truck is the PST 1/72 scale Ford G8TA Tractor Trailer rig: And finally, all these trucks are being escorted by my newest Dragon 1/72 scale M2A2 Bradley, the version used in 2006: I would have had this built with the other five Bradleys I did, but I didn't find this until much later. That's all my armor I've finished so far. These are five of seven models I finished. The other two can be seen in the Aircraft Forums, so feel free to check them out there. As always, thanks for looking and comments are welcome!
  10. Here are my two C-130 Hercules aircraft completed. One is in British markings, so I could use the USAF markings on the other C-130 that the decals got lost to. Now I have two completed Hercules and I'm thrilled to get these finished and on the ceiling! Here's my USAF one: Here's my British RAF one: That's all my aircraft I've finished so far. These are two of seven models I finished. The other five can be seen in the Armor Forums, so feel free to check them out there. As always, thanks for looking and comments are welcome!
  11. Thanks Gil! Time to go shopping...
  12. Thanks Mark! The two Hercs are almost done. I'll be finishing them up today, along with three trucks and a Bradley.
  13. Mark, do you edit your photos before posting? I do. Maybe when you do, try adding a little more 'blue' to the photo and that should tone down the red.
  14. Thanks Gil! I hand painted the camo on the Bradley. I haven't an airbrush with the tip necessary to do a camo pattern on one of these small beasties any justice, even with masking. Thanks again for the compliment.
  15. SWEET!! Way to go Mark!
  16. Looks awesome! Great IP, almost looks like I can flip some switches and turn some dials!
  17. Does accelerator work with it? Or has anyone tried? I'll have to look into getting some of this. I have to go back and get more of Wal-Mart's 96-cent cans of spray paint anyway. What department is this glue found in?
  18. Okay, here is my latest work I was able to do at St. Crispin's Monday Hobby Day yesterday. I'll start out with an overview shot: Now to break it down. Starting with aircraft, I was able to finally get the decals on both of my C-130 aircraft. The decals may not be absolutely accurate on the US C-130, but they were the only ones I had since the original kit decals went missing three years ago. Here is the British one: And now the US one: When you next see these two, they'll be in the Completed Aircraft Forums. After getting all that done, I decided to start two Russian helicopters for a Group Build on one of the other Forums. These are two Russian kits I got that have horrid instructions, (I'll need to post pics of them!) but are otherwise good little kits. This first one is the Russian Mi-6, (I got to get the code names for these!) It is fully assembled and ready for the landing gear after I get it sanded and smoothed out. There is no interior to this model, so I spray painted the interior black. Some of the grey on the outside is the overspray from that: This next one is the Russian Mi-10, their version of our CH-54 Skycrane. Again, no interior, or so I thought, but then I found it. Once you see pics of the instruction sheet, you'll know why I didn't realize there was one! Anyway, you see a lot more overspray from my painting the interior black on this one: Both of these models come with civilian registry decals, but I'm going to be making them military birds using spare decals from my decals box. Now on to my armor. Not too much to show. I got the decals on my three dump trucks. The next time you see them, they'll be in the finished Armor Forums: While I was on trucks, I went ahead and got some paint on my Ford GTA tractor trailer truck that I'd started before. Here it is all painted up: And finally, I got the camouflage pattern painted on my Bradley, followed by a gliosscoat. This is now ready for decals and then a dull.coat and final weathering. You may also see this one in the finished Armor Forums too, if all goes well: Well, that's all my progress so far. Thanks all for looking and as always, comments are welcome.
  19. Thanks Gil! More to come.
  20. Last month I was able to finish up a couple more aircraft, but hadn't the chance to post anything till now. Here they are. Both are in 1/72 scale of course. This is my 1/72 scale Airfix British Buccaneer. This is the first time I've had a Buccaneer in my 'armed forces' and I'm glad to finally have one. This was built mostly at St. Crispin's Hobby Days on Mondays. This next one was a raffle prize I got from a friend. This is the Arii 1/72 scale Areo Subaru civilian plane. I think now I have every civilian plane ever kitted in 1/72 scale, except for the float version of the Cessna 170. These are my latest. I also have two C-130's ready for decals now. I'll be trying to get them decaled and finished off this weekend hopefully. Until then, thanks for looking in and comments are welcome.
  21. Okay, I'm officially lost here. What has this got to do with steel-potted emoticons? I'm still hoping that they can be added.
  22. Mark, that would be awesome. Maybe we can start a Small Scale Group Build to give you incentive. I'd love to see that finished. Do you have a pic of the boxart?
  23. I had heard of a guy that used magnets to suspend a couple aircraft over a base. He set them up so they would repel each other. He set four of them in the base and one in the model so that when he placed the model over the center area above the four, they all repelled each other equally, allowing the plane to sit above the base. Most ingenious I thought. I need to try that someday myself.
  24. I haven't any decent photos of my B-52H anymore; I'll have to take some if I can clear a tabletop big enough. However, if you'd like to see the AC-130U built up, this is how it looks: I hope this helps a little. despite what the rivet counters may say, I think it looks like an AC-130 gunship. I'm certainly happy with it.
  25. Thanks Von! I appreciate it. Thanks Dave! Glad to see you back on these boards. I'm looking forward to seeing that '32 Ford coupe. Stay tuned for more, hopefully in the next week or so.
