  1. I just updated my "Maddog Manufacturing" Thread with my latest work. Feel free to check out my progress..... or wait till they all hit the completed builds Forums.
  2. Welcome James. Enjoy your stay.
  3. Hello everyone! Well, my nephew has gone back home and I took a day to get some work done on many different models that I've wanted to get done. I have so many so close to the finish line it's aggravating that they are still unfinished. Anyway, I'm getting closer. I'll start with my armor. I got my three LAV's all completed with all the fiddly bits and the final basecoat. All I have to do now is paint the camo pattern before adding the wheels: Next, I finally got the top put on my German halftrack. I had to glue it in sections or it would have had big gaps in the sides. Now it only has little gaps in the sides: Next, my two BRDM's are also completed with their wheels on and the final glosscoat ready for decals: And finally, I got my Russian Radar truck all ready for decals. Here it is with all the detail parts painted and the glosscoat on it waiting for decals: Now armor wasn't all I was working on. I also managed to get some work completed on several aircraft I'd started. I'll start with my three civilian planes I've been working on. I've been wanting to have this whole collection of civilian planes completed for awhile now. It looks like I'm getting close. Here's my Piper Cherokee all ready for the coat of white: The Piper Aztec is also almost ready for a coat of white. I just need to mask off the windows first: The third one is the Cessna Skymaster. I finally got the red on it and it is also ready for decals: Next I finally got a coat of silver on my Sabrejet that I am happy with. This one will be decaled soon: Happily, Airfix came through with the clear parts I needed for my Catalina. They have now been installed and I'm trying to put the fuselage together. This beast is so warped that I'll have to glue it in stages. This is the pic where the first stage (nose section) is already glued. Maybe tomorrow or the next day I can glue some more: And finally, I have the fuselage assembled and the wings and tail on my B-25. Next is to finish the nacelles and get them mounted on this plane: Well that is all for now. I know I haven't been getting many comments, but maybe that's because you all are too overwhelmed to write anything. Still, comments are welcome. The more I get the more and faster I build. Thanks all for looking in!

  5. Thank you Dennis!! :D
  6. Of course! Still, I'd love to see more than three smileys per post and those ones posted by Jay are simply awesome!
  7. Yeah, it's about time you guys got something like that. I've had that whole set (yes, including the tractor) in my scale completed on my shelf for at least a decade and a half; maybe two. Congrats guys. I can't wait to see someone actually build this one.
  8. Congrats Mark! I love it. Boresight looks great. I'll be getting a mention in the small scale issue they are planning. Can't wait!
  9. About time someone made this request! I am also hoping that we can post more than three in a post. That's way too restrictive!
  10. Thanks Chris. The woodgrain is done by first painting the area with Testor's "wood" color. Then I take the Testor's gloss brown in the little square bottle (the darker brown) and, using a coarse brush, I paint over the wood, making sure that it doesn't completely cover it. Fairly simple technique I picked up from a friend. Thanks again for the comment and thanks for checking this out.
  11. Well, here it is a week later and I managed to get more done. I'll start off with my aircraft this time since I finally progressed enough to justify pics. At least one one. The other is an aircraft I started while waiting for Airfix replacement parts to arrive. Here is the He-70 I won in the raffle at Phoenix. I finally got the camo pattern on. This is preliminary; I may make some changes. Otherwise I'll just touch things up and move on: This next one is an old MPC Profile Series B-25 Mitchell. I got int in a Distressed Kit Auction and so it was started a little. The interior had just been painted. I painted the crew, added more to the interior and am almost ready to close the fuselage. Here it is with the interior and crew dry fit inside the one fuselage half: This is a shot of the wings and the empennage assembly. The wings had been assembled but I had to fix the flap on one wing. I then assembled the empennage assembly: That's all I have to show for my aircraft for now. EDIT: My Airfix parts came ion so I'll be able to make some progress on my Catalina now. More to come there. Meanwhile, I made great progress on m y armor. I'll start with the little ACE AML 90. I got the fenders, the axles and the shocks on this little beastie. Now for the little detail parts on the hull and turret and then I'll be able to paint this: Next, my one Gaskin is ready for finishing. I got the wheels on and the main basecoat of paint: And the other one is my PST Russian Radar truck for the SA-10 Grumble SAM system. I got the axles on and ready for the wheels. I just have to paint the wheel hubs and then add the rubber wheels to them and then this truck will be ready for finishing: And now we move on to my three Marine Corps LAV's. All of these are ready for the main basecoat of green before the camo pattern goes on. My LAV Anti-tank vehicle: My LAV recovery vehicle: And my LAV Command vehicle: That's about all I have done so far. I had also done some sanding on my two Pipers, and painted my R-100 to see where more sanding was needed as well. Maybe later I'll have pics for them. Meanwhile thanks for looking and comments are welcome.
  12. And I have an extra T26-E4 from Trumpeter in 1/72 scale with which I will be using some of that info to build this pilot tank.
  13. Awesome job James!! Way to go!
  14. Great photos guys. Great to see so much building going on. I also managed to get a few things done on a number of models. I'll try to get pics up later today or tomorrow. They'll be in my "Maddog Manufacturing" Thread.
  15. Welcome Brad! Looking forward to seeing your work!
  16. Ummm... I do, especially on the second Saturday of every month when I'm building my models at St. Crispin's Hobby Day. Sometimes I get more done during Hobby Day than I do in one whole week, and that's saying something! Thank God I don't have a lawn to mow!
  17. I don't have anything to back it up with, but I always painted mine the body color and drybrushed steel over them to show wear. I apologize that I can't offer more specific references to back up my practice.
  18. Started yesterday and ready for decals already? Man, i must be rubbing off on you! LOL! Looks awesome James, keep it going man!

  20. Looking good Dennis! I built that little Sdkfz 251 mysefl some time back, along with her sister the Ausf C version. I even have one with the steel crates in the stash, been hesitant to start it so far. Those P/E rocket boxes are intimidating! Keep plugging Dennis and Chris! You guys are doing awesome!
  21. Done and done. And a big well done on that impressive build. Keep going man, this is looking great! I'm thrilled to be seeing a paper model come together.
  22. That's my philosophy!
  23. I don't normally frequent these auto Forums, but I love Magnum P.I. and his car. I too am saddened that I won't be able to see it finished. You've been doing such a great job on it, and the black detail painting you did was simply awesome.
  24. Von, that is cool! Glad I was able to help you skip down Memory Lane. I am hoping to have this done very soon. Thanks for stopping in!
  25. Good point! Once they went into the main motorpool everything was easier to count. LOL! Thanks Von!
