  1. Okay, here are a few of the projects I have left. This includes one model I got started on at Hobby Day. I'll start with the newest one. It is a little German Volkswagen from Military Wheels. I got the chassis done and the upper body about half done: It looks pretty crude,. but then it is a short-run model. Hopefully, I'll be able to make it look good. Next is my little coast Guard cutter in 1/600 scale from Hawk. I got the superstructure painted and the details done. All I need to do is decant a bit more of the hull paint and clean up the edges. Then, according to the box, this was hull number 31. I got to find some naval numbers to add to the bow for this, and then I can call it finished. Not bad for such a basic little kit: This is my YOV 10 Bronco finally sporting a three-tone camo pattern. Next comes clearcoat and decals, and then finish it off: And finally, I managed to get my C-130 fuselage assembled. There's going to be a few spots that need filler and sanding, but it is now together. Here it is with the main wings test-fit into place: That's all I have for now. Feel free to check out my nine finished models in the Aircraft and Armor Forums. I have six finished armor models and three finished aircraft. Meanwhile, thanks all for looking and comments are welcome.
  2. Thanks Von. I usually do too, but in this case, it made it easier because I had to open all the windows in the fuselage halves, and then there was the issue of the turrets. I had also left the wings and tail surfaces on the sprues when I glued the halves together. Keeps them from getting lost until I need them. Stay tuned all, more to come...
  3. Yes, two of the Bradleys have reactive armor. One is an earlier Bradley, the other a later one. And they are supposed to be tan. Thanks Chris. The carpet monster hasn't eaten any guns. They are all still on the sprues. I am leaving them till last to keep from snapping them off while I finish these models. I've already snapped off the Warrior's barrel about four times now. Not going to take the chance with five Bradleys! As for he bridgelayer, I'm wondering if I'm ever going to be able to finish it. I've broken the bridge parts at least seven times because the braces are so stupidly delicate it ain't funny! Furthermore, I've lost one of the sprues holding the track links for one side of this tank. I'm really getting fed up with this kit! Germans always over-engineer everything; why couldn't they over-engineer this stupid bridge to stay together?!! Okay, I've ranted enough, back to the bench......
  4. Yep! Here's some more rolling along! I'll start with the ones that will be finished the next time I post pics after this post. Here's my five Bradleys which will be finished the next time I post them. This is my British Warrior that will be finished next time I post: Now for my aircraft that will be done next time. Here's my Matchbox Hunter ready for clear and decals: Next is my little SO3 float plane, all complete and ready for decals. The propeller will go on after all that is done: And finally, here's my YF-12 A with the exhaust cans painted. All that's needed now are the decals: Now for the couple of models I still have some way to go on. Here's my German Leopard Bridgelayer all painted up in camo pattern. Now all I have to do is add the tracks to the roadwheels and then I can have this ready for decals. I need to finish this soon; those stupid bridges keep breaking! And finally, I got a lot more progress on the Privateer. Here's the turrets all completed, and the pilots added to the cockpit: Here's the two waist blisters completed: And here are the blisters added to the fuselage halves: And that's all I have for now. Stay tuned for the latest completed models to be posted soon. Thanks for looking, comments are welcome. l
  5. Great show. You got links to pics of the other runner-ups? I'd love to see some of the other competition. Also, what is a JMF?
  6. Thanks Chris. Got more progress done. Should be able to post pics later today.
  7. Thanks Gil! I hope to have them done soon.
  8. Well, tonight I did get some more progress done and here are the pics. I'll start with my five Bradleys. They are all assembled completely, (except for gun barrels) and ready for their camo patterns. Check them out: Here's my M3A2 Bradley: This is my M2A2 Bradley: Here's my M<2A2 up-armored early Bradley: And my M2A2 up-armored late Bradley: The scraped off paint on these two up-armored Bradleys are where some photo-etch parts will be going. I'll have them on it before I paint the patterns. And finally, my M6 Linebacker Bradley: That's all my Bradleys. They are ready for their camo pattern which I hope to have on tomorrow. Here's my British Warrior, also ready for it's camo pattern: Now that I got them all ready for camo patterns, here is a couple shots of two other models I've been working on. This first one is the Cherokee Arrow all ready for decals: And last of all for tonight is my little Hawk Coast Guard Cutter. I sprayed a flat gull grey onto it, then later painted the lower hull and then the decks. You can see there's a lot of touch-up needed there. I think I'm going to paint the superstructure a slightly darker grey than the hull so I don't have to keep decanting the color to touch it up. Besides, I think it'll look better: Later, when it is done, I'll need to find some number 31's to add to the bow. Well, that's all I got so far tonight. Time to hit the sack. Thanks all for looking, comments are welcome!
  9. Okay people, as promised, I have some more pics here. While I had a lot of models to shoot paint on, I didn't get pics of all of them. I'll start with a model I am doing for a Group Build on the HLI Forums. This is the 1/72 scale Matchbox Privateer that was chosen for me from the other members of the "In My Stash" Group Build. I got the cockpit assembled and painted: Next I did a lot of painting and assembly of many parts that were molded in two parts; like wings, horizontal stabilizers, vertical stabilizer, etc. here are those sprues showing what I got done. In that pic you can even see the crew I painted which I will be adding to this model. Here's the rest: Next step for this model is to assemble all the turrets and then get more assembly done. Stay tuned... Meanwhile, I got paint and a pattern on my Hawker Hunter. Classic British paint scheme: All that's left for that is the decals, landing gear and underwing stores. Hopefully soon! Now on to my armor. Here's the British Warrior I got some progress done on. I finally installed the tracks, and now this is ready for more paint, camo pattern etc.: And finally, here are the five Bradley variants all basecoated and waiting for their camo patterns. I'll be posting them one by one here. My apologies for some of the blurry pics. The table at St. Crispin's wasn't exactly the most sturdy thing to brace on, especially since other modelers were working on them too: This one I managed to get one of the tracks on: And finally, the final Bradley variant, the Linebacker ADV: Well, that is about all there is for now. Back to the workbench. Thanks all for looking, comments are welcome.
  10. More pics of my latest Matchbox kits are seen 'On the workbench". Feel free to check them out.
  11. I second Kenny Loup. The man is a genius and makes incredible masks. He'll take care of you.
  12. Stunning work. I love the look of these planes. Keep them coming man!
  13. These are simply spectacular! I love the look of these. Almost makes me want to try my hand at building them myself....
  14. Yeah, Aaron, I can see how much you 'can't stand' Matchbox kits! Those are fabulous! I just started another Matchbox kit: the Privateer. man, what a trip! I'll try to get some pics up soon. Meanwhile, I got some paint on my hawker Hunter already.
  15. Wow, someone actually posted this? Thanks man! I love looking at small scale armor! I think this Thread should be stickied, but I'm partial. Ron, maybe you should see avbout making this a sticvky, and maybe that will be the first step to our own directory. Man, you guys are awesome! Just about all of those look better than mine! Wow! You guys ROCK! I have some Bradleys under construction (they can be seen in my Thread under the "On the Bench" forum, along with some aircraft I'm working on.) Aside from that, I haven't finished a Braille Scale armor model in awhile. Maybe I'll wait to finish the Bradleys unless someone has something in particular they want to see. After all, I have 553 Braille Scale armor and vehicles finished so there's lots to choose from. Once the Boresight article gets printed, I'll post those pics of my entire collection.
  16. Well, I'm feeling better and so I managed to get some work done over the past couple days. So, as promised, here are the latest progress pics from my workbench. This will be a quick and easy update. I'll start with all the aircraft I made progress on. There's only one thing to say really: This one is ready for paint: My Heller 1/72 scale Hawker Tempest, ready for paint: My 1/72 scale Cherokee Arrow, ready for paint: My 1/72 scale Matchbox Hawker Hunter, ready for paint: My 1/72 scale Zvezda Kamov Hokum Ka-50W, ready for paint: Next I have only one pic of my latest armor. I have three of the five Bradley variants ready for paint. Once I get them all ready; I'll shoot paint on them. The second one from right has a little more to go on it before it is ready: There it is, simple and quick. Tomorrow I may have even more progress done. Stay tuned.... Thanks all for looking, comments are welcome.
  17. LOL! Got some good progress on the Bradleys. Pics up later today I hope. As for the Hercules, I have two AC versions hanging on the ceiling already: The AC130H and the AC130U. Now I need to cargo birds to keep their base supplied. Thanks Chris. I got the basecoat on the bridge layer; should get a pattern on it soon. Stay tuned and thanks for the great comments guys!
  18. My apologies for taking so long to reply. Been fighting a nasty bronchial pneumonia here and I'm finally feeling well enough to do anything. Thanks Gil! As for being an organizational genius; my workbench and several lost parts would argue that fact. I do try to keep things together well enough to finish them. Just got back to the bench yesterday. Gonna try and do more today. I'll get some more pics up when I do. Stay tuned and thanks again for the great reply.
  19. Well, here's another long update post showing my latest progress and newest models. A few I only got a couple things done on; for instance, I got the main windscreen on the Cherokee Arrow and that was all on that one. The rest of these pics will be of models where some noticeable progress was made. I'll start out the pics with a couple of models that I got paint shot on recently This first one is the German Leopard bridgelayer that finally has the basecoat of green on it: I then got the little floatplane shot with blue: After that, I got a little more progress on one more model. I got the nose and canopy on the little Hunter and then added a bit more Mr. Surfacer to some of the seams. Next all I have to do it sand this down and then mask and shoot a basecoat: Next, I got all the little detail pieces on the USS Virginia's superstructure and then painted the lower hull: Just need the deck fixtures and this is ready for paint. Finally, do you all remember the armored train I started last year? Well, I finally got a little more work done on it. I assembled three more cars for it so that this is now about halfway done After that, I'll need to sand the gaps where I filled them with CA, then add all the little detail parts. I also still have to set the wheel width on these so they fit on my display track right. That's why there are no wheels on the newest cars yet: Now for my newest models I started. I'll begin with four of the five Bradley variants that I started. I found all these together and decided it was time to get them built. Here are four of them: After that, I started an old YOV 10A Bronco that a friend bought for me. This is now all ready for paint after I mask the clear parts: Next is a model I was sold by a friend who got it as a gift. This one I will be making British so I can use the US decals for the US one I built some time ago and lost the decals for. Oh, what is it, you ask? This is my Italeri 1/72 scale C-130 Hercules. Here is the cockpit all assembled: This is the fuselage taped together. I have the windows installed in it and the inside painted: Here are the wings for this big guy. All they need is the propellers. They'll be one of the last things to go on: Well, that's all for now. I hope you enjoyed this latest post. Stay tuned for more. Meanwhile, comments are welcome.
  20. I enjoy building those old Matchbox kits too. In fact, if you go to my thread in the "On the Bench" Forum, you'll see the Hawker Hunter I'm building now. I also built the Supermarine Stranraer as well and had a blast! I even enjoyed rigging it! I also have about half the Matchbox armor models finished too. Good times!
  21. Yeah, you busted me. Actually, t was a fairly easy model to build. I also had it dry outside when I sprayed it so that dried quick. Thanks for the great comments.
  22. Why do you always call me Ron? Short answer: I'm an idiot. I apologize. I'll try to watch my keyboard more closely.
  23. Brilliant tip! Thanks!
  24. And the rest of us modelers who are entered in said contest would finish him off. I see no reason to look inside a model to see if it is done. How is one supposed to sand and fix the glue smears and such that are too far inside a model to reach? Dinging a model for that with one of those surgical tools will drastically shorten the life of any judge using it I dare say.
  25. Anyone got a picture of this fish? I find it hard to believe that it would beat out such a masterful scratchbuilt model like this rig! I am stunned and overwhelmed at how awesome that rig looks!
