  1. Sounds like some good places,. I agree if it is to be a 'special' anniversary convention that a centerally locacted place would be best for both coasts folks to have a equal chance to attend. just my .02
  2. Right on! If I make it down there I will try to stop by and say hey.
  3. I'm trying to fenagle a quick trip down there on Saturday so hopefully I will be there for at least 1 day...
  4. Recently I discoverd that there are only 2 ancient and no 1/32 scale harrier frs-1's out there. I figured there would be more options for this iconic early version of britians jump jet than the very old and simple tamiya and aifix offerings. With hasegawa's 1/48 harrier series and trumpy's 1/32 series, the frs-1 version is sadly overlooked. Is there any love coming for the fans of the grandfather version of the SHAR?
  5. Thanks again guys, it IS a real estate intensive plane for sure! Still trying to find a spot for it on the shelf or one of the cases.
  6. Thanks Gil! The overall fit of the kit was great, the only fiddly parts were the engine nacels being a 5 part setup. I put the center wing section together and then assembled the 5 part engine nacels and while they were still plyable fitted them to the wing part. The canopy was also a little fickle. It fit almost perfectly but the part where th tiny vent window was a tad undersized and had to 'massage' it a little to fit. don't know if the initial fit problem was my fault or not but the canopy came out better that I was expecting.
  7. Ah yes, thanks! I guess it helps to read the available options eh?
  8. N/M blond moment fixed!
  9. Here is my latest creation, the 1/32 revell he-111p in pre war markings- circa August 1939. It is an OOTB build using a mix of Ad Astra masks and kit decals. I used Model master RLM 61/62/63/65 enamel paints for the camo patern. Enjoy!
  10. That would be one heck of a rigging project. Post up pix of it when you get done, i'd love to see it!
  11. ROTFLMAO!!! That is a different way of looking at it from the other side of the counter, LOL!!!!
  12. Cool! Sounds like it might be the spark to get that fire burning to build. I have been on a building halt for most of the year but that is partially due to a new baby 5 months ago. I have on many occasions at our club meetings offered up a challange build model to any member to build the it in a month or two. The only stipulation is that it gets done with in the time frame and you can build it up in whatever color or scheme (pink me-109 anyone?). If you don't finish it in the time frame you 'pledge' a nominal fee to the club, say $5-$10. Most people that take on and complete the challange, some folks not so much but the bottom line is it's a fun thing to do at the meetings and the other is that it gets people to build!
  13. Yeah the Wingnuts kits are awesome! I built their Albatros DV and it was a pleasure to build. I have another one I am contemplating on building but haven't decided yet. The British A/C look cool but I would go nuts rigging those, the Albatros was hard enough. I look forward to the finished RE8 build John, you'll have it done by next weekend right?
  14. Holy cow! :o That kit is huge! That's almost too large even for the veteran 1/32 scale builder that I am. Almost. I will have to see it in person first...
  15. Mike, Nice engine work, very convincing! It does look like a scaled down version of the real thing. Lee, Thanks! That is why it sits in the garage most of the time. The Lingenfellter head and cam package make it fun to to drive too. B)
  16. Nice job Mike! I am partial to the LS1 Camaro SS myself, heres my baby:
  17. Hasegawa had an A-4 that was a limited run in Falkland war markings which had a ship kill IIRC. I dont remember the kit number though but it was pretty cool. That is the only markings for an Argentine skyhawk from the Falklands war that I know of. I had that kit for quite a while but sold it on a whim, which I now regret doing.
  18. Dang that thing is huge!
  19. My list is basically anything 1/32 scale. I guess i'm easy to please.
  20. Best fitting kit I made was the 1/32 Dragon BF-110C. Other than sketchy instructions the fit was awesome. Worst kit I attempted to make was the 1/32 Revell mirage III, holy cow- mega warped parts crappy detail, ugh. That kit didn't even make past the fuselage being glued together.
  21. That's pretty cool. Die cast or not, awesome job in the photography department.
  22. Yeah I am kinda lucky, I have 2 bedrooms in my house dedicated to the hobby. One room is my display and work bench area the other is my storage for the stash and in-progress-on-hold pile. I've got 3 large display cases almost filled with about 60 built models, and a open shelf for the really big stuff, I.e the 1/32 Ju-88 and other older models, most of which (approx 85%) are 1/32 scale.
  23. Sitting here looking in my display cases I have 7 P-47's, 6 FW-190's, 4 ME-109's, 5 F-15's and 4 F/A-18s. All 1/32 by the way. I have other that are doubles and singles but those are the most numerous.
  24. Thanks guys for doing this, cool idea! The shops for Albuquerque New mexico are way innaccurate. Out west Hobbies closed years ago, Hobbies N stuff has moved and there is a new one in town that is the latest and greatest called Hobby Proz. I believe Ken Liotta sent in the updates to Tim Darrah. I can't update the map but I thought I'd add these tidbits for anyone coming to ABQ.
  25. Thats a cool looking mig! Very nice finish, what tecnique and paints did you use? B)
