  1. Thanks Gil! Ken, Thanks Dude! I should have them finished by the next meeting. Hopefully I will have the 1/32 Stuka done by then also.
  2. Thanks for the additional comments guys. I'm not too worried about the unemployment part, I'll be ok for a few months. Luckily I was prepared for such a scenario. As for the condolence for the job loss, thanks again but that job really sucked anyway!
  3. Thanks James! Well being that I'm currently unemployed as of last week I 'should' be able to finish them by Phoenix although I wouldn't consider them contest worthy though . I've been working on the Jugs for about 2-3 month and the BF110 for about a month or so. They are all built out of the box except for the aftermarket decals of course. FWIW The 110 is a fantastic fitting kit I'd almost say better than Hasegawa or Tamyia but the instructions leave a lot to be desired <_< . It take a little research and figuring things out plus I used Robert DeMaio's excellent IPMS review build link here in the review section for guidance and assistance with the instructions.. ^_^
  4. David, I just did post shading along with some light oil wash in some of the panel lines. The post shading seems a hair lighter in the pix than it is but not by very much.
  5. I just got done painting, weathering and decaling 3 1/32 scale hasegawa P-47's and a 1/32 Dragon 110 (thanks James!). I think I may have over done the postshading part, what do you guys think? I've got thick skin so don't hold back, I can take it! :D
  6. Steve, maybe the 3 of us can grab something to eat on Monday thev 12th? Preferably a hooters of course! :D
  7. Hey Mike, Waazzaaap?? Thanks for the map DuDe! I'll be in the Glendale college area October 10th or 11th till the 13th and will have some time to visit as well. I assume it wouldn't take to much arm twisting for you to join me on a couple of them 'hobby shop raids'? I'll drive! :D Brian
  8. I'll probably be down in Phoenix in a couple of weeks, what are the top 'must see' shop there that are currently open? I've found a couple of the shops have apparantly closed and I'll have a limited time to check them out and don't want to drive around only to find a closed place when I drive up. Thanks in advance for the help!
  9. Thanks guys! Gil don't feel bad, I was the other half of the rhythm section on bass guitar!
  10. Now thats cool! Being a fellow Star Wars fanatic I can appretiate that. "There is no conflict." /Darth Vader
  11. Greetings! I am a longtime forum member but I haven't told my story yet. I started making models when I was about 6 years old and been doing it ever since. Like many others it was my brother who got me started on the hobby. He gave me a 1/48 scale corsair because I always like watching the Blacksheep Squadron back in the late '70's and he threw one together for me for my 6th birthday. Unfortuantly that F4U didn't last long after I seen an episode of the show where a corsair crash landed and I replicated it accordingly! Afterwards my bro sat me down and showed me how to put a plane together and all the work involved. After that sans a few 'outbreaks' I haven't destroyed many models after that. I remember in my early years building a 1/48 Monogram b-24J by puting it together with tape because my mother didn't want me as a 7 year old to have glue without my brother around to supervise. I was always into planes, mainly jets, because I had always wanted to be a Air Force fighter pilot! Although excessive height and poor eyesight killed that dream, I have been building the planes I wanted to fly ever since. I have been doing 1/32 LONG before 1/32 was cool, half of my current collection of approx. 250 kits is 1/32 scale mostly jets and some props the rest is 1/48 scale planes and a few 1/35 armor. I've dabbled in ships and cars but my main focus is building OOB planes. I've won several 1st, 2nd and 3rds at nationals but I mainly build for relaxation and rarley build for competition. My IPMS 'credentials' are: 2001 Region 10 contest chairman Albuquerque Scale Modelers club president for 3 years Albuquerque Scale Modelers club vice-president for 2 years Off and on member at large for above chapter 2006 region 10 "Chili-con" Internet co-ordinator and for some- Region 10 trouble maker ;) I also played in a rock band for most of the 90's playing early 'Van Halen' style music and I also have a weak spot for fast cars. I've owned over 30+ sports cars over the years, mainly Trans Am's, ranging from the early 70's to the last ones in 2002. My most favorite car was a 1999 Camaro SS modified by Lingenfelter Performance Engineering with 435 horses under the hood, that car was a blast to drive! Currently due to my job working at a GM dealership as a Tech the money has been substatially cut and all the hotrods are now gone. I still have my first hobby, plastics as my main source of diversion now.

    Me-109 E-1

Looking good so far, I always like following the E-1 builds from Edward. Lot's of cool schemes to do the early birds in. I'm trying to decide if I want to get one or not. Keep posting up the progress pix! B)
  13. Dang, I'm surprised I missed this! I didn't know you cracked this one out that fast- it's not even the evening of the Nationals. ;) Most excellent dude, it looked good on the table too! B)
  14. I am always up for taking donations for bigger and better jet models. I'm in!

  16. Nice job on the A-7! Like Glenn said you don't see many of those on the table. Spoken like a true aviation enthusiast!
  17. Hey Mike, There are a few guys from ASM going to both shows. You should stop by and maybe carpool or caravan with us, schedules permiting. It'll be like old times!
  18. Thanks Dick, hopefully I'll have it done within a few weeks. B) Gil: Yeah I hope they do more big scale stuff, I was hearing a rumor of a 1/32 HE-111 from Revell to compliment the Ju-88 but we shall see. :o This kit is going together good so far, not many problems- just a couple of small fiddly things. As for the masking I am doing it the hard way. Xacto knife and Tamiya tape for the camo and canopy. It's time consuming for sure. It took my about 4 straight hours to mask the canopy alone and about 3 for the camo. Went through a roll of tape between the two projects. But worth it in the end IMO.
  19. Hello All, Here is one of my latest builds, the 1/32 revell Ju-88. I just finished painting it and doing a little wet sanding. It's built OOB and the markings will be the box art version. I've been working on it off and on for about 2 months between my 1/32 scale hornet and Su-27UB. I had a small accident with the clear nose piece, I cracked it while I was masking it off. Luckily I robbed the part from the 2nd one I have. Now I need to contact ROG to get another part. Here are a few pix, Enjoy!
  20. Hey Bob, Mike's not psychic, he's psycho! Right Mike? FWIW I sent in my renewal after your PM thanks again for the reminder. Brian
  21. Dave, Probably just as well. I need to save up for all that stuff. :D Val here is a more specific link. http://www.greatmodels.com/~smartcart/cgi/...&scale=1/32 I can't believe I forgot a link in my original post sorry.
  22. I was checking out G-M's website and seen that they had a bunch of 1/32 scale trumpeter preorders listed. I know there are several things on there that are long awaited (a-6's) plus a few others. One thing that caught my attention was a 1/32 mig-23. Any hope all these will come out soon?
  23. Yup, the revell/monogram is a great kit. I've bulit a couple and they go together well. Masking the canopy 'glass house' is a pain though.
  24. I'm looking forward to it too but I'll have to look at it first though, I was a little bugged about pre-ordering a 1/32 Su-27UB from Trumpeter only to be disappointed on the screwed up shape of the canopy and windscreen. Another project derailed while I decide how to fix it... If Academy made a 1/32 F-14 the same way they made their 1/32 Hornet, I'd have 10 of the tomcats too!
  25. Looks good! I enjoyed building the couple I've done. I think its one of the best kits out there. You can't beat the details, dropped flaps/slats, weapons choices and of course all the cool marking you can do!
