This is one of several builds inprogress right now on the bench. Besides the Tiger I (see my Build Log in the Armor forum) this one I am working hard on. It is a Tamiya Sturmtiger. I plan on adding a full interior as well as extras inside and out. Enjoy

Another winner. Great Job!! I also like how the grunt moves in and out of the dio, great effect!!!

One of the best diorama themes I have seen in a while. Tells a story in a very simple quiet way. Very nice job. Thanks for sharing. Chris

I have started the painting process. The model was giving a primer and base coat of Tamiya Dark yellow. Next pre-shading with Nato black.

Great job Mark, Love the weathering. It's spot on. I am true jealous of the great subject matter in the smaller scales. Stuff like this is badly needed in 1/35. Chris

To bad I have a T-55 on the bench already started. Looked over the site . Very nice detail. Will have to find another build project to use this. Most likely a something blown up. Thanks for the heads up Mark. Chris

Ok Mark, that makes a lot of since. In that case I have only one ,"shelf of Shame" kit. When I was about 15 I just had to have the new Tamiya 1/32 scale F-14 Tomcat kit. Well my skills were not what they are today and I bit off way more then I should have back then. I never did complete the kit. I do still have it in my stash. I took it out a couple of month ago and said to myself that what if I could mount some tank tracks and gun turret mounts if it would make a good <TANK FIGHTER>. YA Baby!!! So if Mark does start a group build on this subject, then I am in. Chris -
David, First let me say great job on all of your models. Second you need to enter them. Not just because they should win an award, but because they need to be seen by others. Your work is very good. Oh an don't fret about the shelf Queens, I have them too. Or did they fly off into the sunset never to be seen again?

Salt - for the salt for weathering Glasses - for holding paint brushes, tools in, etc. Tin foil - for making straps, bare metal surfaces, etc. Round colorful small candy sprinkles - used to make gear shifter handle knobs and tool handle knobs. Nestle Toll house chocolate morsels - For snacking (what else did you think I was going to say?) Old spice rack turn table -modified and used for my paint booth spray turn table. Sure hope my wife is not reading this. If she is I'm dead!

Thanks Mark for starting this thread. I have at about 13 , "In Progress models". Seems that this problem is not small. Mark and Gil you two rock. No ,"Shelf Queens". WOW Over on Track links they are starting a quick on line contest to see who can build the best ,"Shelf Queen". Rules are simple: has to have been sitting on your shelf for at least six months, any model, any scale. Judging for winner is same as in a regular contest. Prize is a new tank model. Now I know that we cannot give out a prize. But I do like the Idea of a group build. Might help clear out some of these unfinished models. -
Sad to say, but I too am in the club. Count up to 13 kits and growing. I just cannot help myself. When a kit on the bench is drying with glue or paint, I'm just sitting there doing nothing but looking at my stash behind me and say, OH YA THAT ONE WOULD LOOK GOOD NEXT. David you hit on a topic that I do not think we talk about much. "How many kit do you have started, but not done?" Chris

Thanks Mark. She should look mean, she was one mean machine for her time. Thanks again. Chris

OK Finally I'm back working on this build. Here are some up to date photos. I have replaced the fenders, muffler guards, tie down tool clamps, tow cables, etc with PE. Replaced the hull MG with a brass turned two part barrel. Replaced the track changing cable with a scratch built one, Replaced the shoval handle with a scratch built one, Replaced the cleaning rods with wire cut and shaped to size. Added a resin jerry can and a scratch built holder with left over PE tee's. The tracks are Fruil track links. Still need to do some clean up and need to glue in the pins. Working on the turret detail now, will post that later. Enjoy, Chris

802chrisg replied to Mark Deliduka's topic in Photos: On the Bench
Not that I am going to start building models in small scale, but there sure is a lot of cool subject in the smaller scales that are not offered in 1/35. I'm Jealous.. Looking good Mark. Chris -
Looks great Mark. Nice job. Chris

IPMS/USA discussion forums now open to public
802chrisg replied to DennisTennant's topic in Forum FAQ and Announcements
This is a really great thing to do. We need to reach out to all to continue to not just maintain, but to expand IPMS now and in the future. Good job Dennis. Chris -
Tom, You are really not a "noobie". You are just like the rest of us. Modeled as a kid, leave the hobby for Military, kids, etc. and then return. See you are just normal. Welcome back. The hobby is doing great and so is IPMS. Ask lots of questions and look over others work. That is the best way to learn. Welcome aboard!! Chris

Hi Guys, I have been away from this project for sometime now. I have been working hard on it again so I will be posting new updates soon. My home computer harddrive died so I need to use my work computer at lunch time. Good thing I have Photobucket, because I lost everything on my computer. Chris

Same application as Ron said above, you can use play sand also. Pick up a bag at a local Home Depot or Lowes, etc.> Works well.
