wdedig Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 Just a simple Out of Box project. At the Painting step Construction was very easy ,only a few challenging seams but otherwise no issues Comments welcome
Mark Deliduka Posted April 4, 2011 Report Posted April 4, 2011 I like it. You've done outstanding on that assembly. Can't wait to see it in paint.
rvazquez Posted April 4, 2011 Report Posted April 4, 2011 Great WIP, I hope to see more pics soon! Regards, Rodolfo

ghodges Posted April 4, 2011 Report Posted April 4, 2011 I know the feeling, but you're lookin' good! By the way, what scale is that kit? GIL
wdedig Posted April 5, 2011 Author Report Posted April 5, 2011 I know the feeling, but you're lookin' good! By the way, what scale is that kit? GIL Thanks Gil This is a 1/72nd Scale Mirage...Very Nice kit with very few faults
Mark Aldrich Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 Nice hard edge.....was that masked or freehand?
wdedig Posted April 7, 2011 Author Report Posted April 7, 2011 Nice hard edge.....was that masked or freehand? The edging was rolled "Blue Tak" putty and filled in with tape to avoid overspray. I felt in this scale the edges should lean toward the harder side. In the process of decals underneath first to test the decals and sludge-wash for some of the great panel details. Photos later. Thanks for Asking
wdedig Posted April 14, 2011 Author Report Posted April 14, 2011 I have completed the 1/72nd Scale Revell of Germany Mirage 2000 in Tiger markings. Nice and simple build Large decal on spine was the biggest challenge. Comments welcome Thanks for Looking
Mark Aldrich Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 Amazing how a dull cote takes all the brightness outta a model. Beautiful work!!! Spine decal looks great!
ghodges Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 Nice Mirage! That's the kind of modern jet I like to build. I jut don't care for all gray jets. Thanks for the inspiration! GIL
wdedig Posted April 15, 2011 Author Report Posted April 15, 2011 Thanks Guys The final finish was a Satin Lacquer from Testors. More flat than gloss but ended with a good finish. Future was way to glossy for 1/72nd Thanks Again
David M. Knights Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 That is a beautiful model in gentlemen's scale.
Mark Aldrich Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 Nice Mirage! That's the kind of modern jet I like to build. I jut don't care for all gray jets. Thanks for the inspiration! GIL Hey...You got something against Air Superiority Gray???? Remember, before you answer, I still have friends in the old 48th FIS in the Langley area!!!!! HAHA
ghodges Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 If I was a pilot, I'd LOVE an all gray plane! However, as a model builder, I desire some color on my subjects. Probably why think the US NAVY rules! GIL
VonL Posted April 17, 2011 Report Posted April 17, 2011 Great lookin' jet! Concur on the masking edge. Very effective.
