DennisTennant Posted April 9, 2014 Report Posted April 9, 2014 Here's my finished KV-1 with a lot of extras: photo etch fender supports, a metal gun barrel, brass tubing machine guns, copper wire tow cables, headlight lens plus added wiring to headlight and horn. The kit was finished with acrylics. The whitewash effect was achieved by using the hairspray technique and applying it twice to add a bit more depth than with a single coat.
Mark Ford Posted April 9, 2014 Report Posted April 9, 2014 (edited) I think this is one of if not the best one you've done. But, you forgot to add the bent antenna....again :army7: ! Mark Edited April 9, 2014 by Mark Ford
Zglossip Posted April 10, 2014 Report Posted April 10, 2014 awesome i built a model like this last year it didn't even come close to this
DennisTennant Posted April 12, 2014 Author Report Posted April 12, 2014 Z: this is my third attempt at building a 1:48 KV-1. Keep at it!
ghodges Posted April 15, 2014 Report Posted April 15, 2014 One of the most authentic looking winter camos I've seen! Love it! GIL
DennisTennant Posted April 15, 2014 Author Report Posted April 15, 2014 Thanks for the comments about the whitewash, guys. I credit Mike Rinaldi's Panzer Art1 book for many tricks and tips in achieving this result.
RGronovius Posted April 16, 2014 Report Posted April 16, 2014 Nice job, I've got three of the HB KV kits, but yet to get motivated to start one. This might be the motivation I need.
dmorrissette Posted April 16, 2014 Report Posted April 16, 2014 I love the winter camo look. Great looking build Dave
Mark Deliduka Posted April 17, 2014 Report Posted April 17, 2014 That is a spectacular job on that tank. I've seen many techniques used for winter whitewash, but this seems to be on of the most authentic looking results. I don't do winter whitewash myself, but in sure do appreciate the excellence of a whitewash done well!
Guest PetrolGator Posted April 28, 2014 Report Posted April 28, 2014 Really nice and congratulations on the award.
