  1. Some interesting stuff there but no way I can afford the whole set or even want them all. If you decide to part them out, let me know and I will pick up a few.
  2. Hi all, So I have 3 kits that were actually made during WWII. A 1/12th scale US Jeep by a company called West-Craft and 2 kits by Rogers of a 40mm AA Gun (Bofors). The copyright on the Jeep's instructions is 1943 and the guns appear to have been released in 1945. Did find Old Model Kits has the gun going for $89.00 but can't find anything regarding a price for the Jeep. So, anyone have a source for pricing collectible antiques? These images are from the web but I can take pics of the kits if anyone wants more details. Thanks for any assistance or any serious offers.
  3. Hope the Nats crew will look into options for a general discount. Will probably look at the shuttle services. Thanks for the link.
  4. So, if I manage to be able to afford to go this year I will probably have to fly and at $16 a day for car parking at the Read I will probably try to avoid a rental. What are the options on getting from the airport to the hotels? Am I stuck with Uber or Lyft?
  5. Still not sure I will make it but grabbed a room at the Read. Will see how that goes.
  6. David, Just a belated thanks for bringing the Wellington with you. Looking forward to seeing you in Chattanooga if you make it this year.
  7. Christmas was pretty mellow. My Sekrit Santaski got me a Bandai General Grievous (which I had just picked up on a half price sale so now have one to sell). My son bought me a record player so now I can actually play all those records I bought back in the 80s. And to round it out my daughter bought me some slippers.
  8. Some nice stuff there Mark. I also picked up the Comic Con version of the B-wing from USAGundamstore but the pilot looks a little short for a B-wing pilot. Will have to do a bit more research. Today I stopped at Hobby Lobby to see what they had left on the clearance kits. Just two in the store, one I already grabbed and a car I wasn't interested in but I did help a couple of clerks sell and airbrush with compressor to a lady who wants to use it for her art. I could definitely tell the young ladies were out of their league so made a comment and then ended up basically taking over the sale. Next I hit Barnes & Noble and picked up the latest issue of Airfix Model World. Then I hit MRS Hobbies and found the new Revell PT 109 kit, the new Joker and a piece of power armor that I have odd plans for. So a good day out.
  9. Since it was kind of close, I drove to Nats. Meant I could bring more for the SIG/Club tables (Let's keep those as a fixture please) and could bring more stuff back home. First off I did OK at the raffles and giveaways. The mugs are from the Squadron raffle, the OLFA, cutting matt and P-40 from the IPMS raffle, the paint were giveaways from Hornby. First two books from Casemate at a very nice discount, next two from SAM and the rest from Rareplanes. Already found out I have a copy of the M113 book so that goes into the for sale pile. The Wellington was brought over from England for me by David at SAM. What do you know, forum posts work. The other Airfix kits were on the Hornby stand but they weren't selling. However, their kits were earmarked for Hobby Depot so went and chatted with Dick Christ and picked them up at the end of the show. Special Hobby kits from them and the two Eduard Migs were from them. The Scale 75 figures were on their table and though still a bit pricey, I saved shipping. Other 3 kits were from Stash sellers. Spent about what my budget had for this so think I did ok.
  10. Discovery extras https://www.monstersinmotion.com/cart/spaceships-vehicles-2001-a-space-odyssey-c-13_403/2001-a-space-odyssey-discovery-1-144-scale-accessory-detail-set-for-moebius-model-kit-p-24404
  11. If anyone is interested in the AMARG tour you do have to sign up separately and get approved. First come first served. There is an extra $10 fee. i got my email response from them today and am now waiting to see if I will get a seat.
  12. I am hoping to get this kit at the show so put me down for one please.
  13. I also picked up the Discovery at my LHS at 25% off of retail. Debating on getting the interior kit with the pods. Already built the Orion which is the same scale.
  14. I also love the Batmobile and got their snap together version with the prepainted body as I just didn't want to try all that trim. Been thinking about getting the original Aurora version or probably repop as it is close to the scale of the Batcopter I will get to someday. Thinking a dio of Batman getting out the door and Robin jumping over his to "Get to the Chappa!" I have acquired a few more things but trying to hold out until Nats to see if I can get some deals. Also, doing the shipping for the Review Corp and trying to fit my own reviews in has been taking up too much time.
  15. I also took advantage of the Flash sale and picked up Dragon's El Alamein Sherman, another of Platz's T-33s and a set of figures (ordered 2 but the other must have been out of stock). Got all that for about half of what the Sherman retails for.
  16. It is a good day to take in some of the sites in Phoenix. There are a few museums in and around worth hitting and the Diamondbacks might be in town that night.
  17. Hmm, I don't normally build boats/ships unless they are in my scale but have been thinking of a possible commercial entry. Guess I better find a kit.
  18. Has been a fun show both years and I plan on attending again. Of course, seeing you makes it nice and my oldest lives just down the street so it is a win, win, win for me. And sometimes I get to do Disney also.
  19. Nice job on both subs. I have been contemplating the 72nd scale kit. I have the Gato in the stash and hope to do the USS Drum with it sometime. Course I got the early kit and I think the new one comes with markings for the Drum.
  20. The Skyraider is still the best kit in this scale IMHO. Nice to see it back as I can use another one or two. That roller is interesting and those robot things look fun.
  21. Booked mine also but might need to modify and get the Tuesday as well. Will probably stop in Vegas on the way down but don't want to get up too early to finish the drive so we shall see.
  22. Ed, I have two of the Airfix kits, an AMT KC-135A and also have the E-6 conversion set. Thinking I might sell one of the E-3s and the E-6 conversion, use the TF-33 engines on the AWACS to do a NATO bird, probably with those decals from Heller E-3A set if I can find someone who wants to trade. Then will probably use the CFM-56 engines on the KC to make one currently flown by the Utah ANG since I just saw a set of decals released with those markings. Course then I have to find a display case big enough for them, a couple B-52s, Nimrod, Vulcan, Victor, etc. Oh, and a good deal on a Bear.
  23. Looks good Mark. I picked up one of the large Zvezda kits at the Nats this year. Who knows, maybe I will try to light it.
  24. Steve, Not much help. I googled pics from the walk and the tubes do seem to go all over the place.
