  1. This is a helicopter I completed for a Group Build on Hobbylink International. This is the Japanese KV-107 II-4 "Shirasagi": I also finished several more vehicles which are profiled in the Armor Forums. Feel free to go check them out too. Meanwhile, thanks for looking; comments are welcome.
  2. Well, it's been a few months, but the Duke has finally gotten something finished. These are three German vehicles I have completed this month. I have a couple more models on the verge of being finished, so we'll see if this trend continues. I also have a helicopter that I finished which will be shown in it's respective Forum. Okay, here are my latest models. First off is the ESCI German Sdkfz 251/8 Armored Ambulance. I painted it with Model Master paints and weathered with Tankrat's AFV Depot weathering powders: Hmmm, those roadwheels and that main wheel look like they need some touch up. I'll get to those soon. Next is another ambulance. This time it's based on the Opel Blitz truck. This is another 1/72 scale ESCI kit from the seventies. I painted it with the Model Master paints, weathered with Tankrat's powders and added a windshield to it. And finally, I've built the 1/72 scale Dragon Hybrid Tiger I, the 1/72 scale Dragon Tiger I Mid Production, and the 1/72 scale Dragon Tiger I Late Production. This latest model completes the line of Dragon Tiger I's in 1/72 scale. Here is my Dragon 1/72 scale Tiger I Initial Production: Well, those are all my latest armored models I'm calling completed. As I mentioned, I have a helicopter finished as well. Feel free to check it out. Meanwhile, thanks for looking and comments are welcome.
  3. If you're in the minority, then so am I. I could also c are less about some wanna-be that never made it off the paper. In fact, I hate the fact that everyone always seems to want to release another Tiger and another Panther also! Like there ain't any other choices on the Market! Geez, the way everyone is releasing German vehicles, you'd think THEY won the war!! I would just love to see in 1/72 scale an M-47 Patton, and M-41 Walker Bulldog, An M-42 Duster, an M-109 Paladin, and that monster you posted in the Vietnam section. Not to mention some of the British equipment like the Archer, the Crusader tanks, the cruiser tanks and the universal carrier that actually DID help win the war! But wait! Did we win? I can't tell anymore with this continuous release of just another German vehicle.... OK, I'm going back to my workbench.....
  4. Cool. I'm hoping to get a bit more progress done on this soon. Then I'll be working on the missile carrier/launcher. After that, I'll have to try and find room on my shelf for these beasties!
  5. Maybe Howie can go into business then selling these; oir maybe forward them to an aftermarket company to sell. I'm just dreaming here.... This is looking good, can't wait to see more.
  6. Dude, you're an animal! I don't think I'd ever go that far! They look fantastic and will certainly add to the model! Can't wait to see how they look on the tracks.
  7. Looking good. Great weathering job.
  8. Brilliant work Chris! I've been wanting to get one of those in 1/72 scale, but they are always so expensive for what you get. I'm hoping to someday stumble on some for a decent price. Keep building; you got some awesome skills!

    Great job Chris! Looks fantastic!
  10. To me they look like Light Ghost Grey, Dark Gull Grey, and Intermediate Blue. But then I'm guessing here. Again, like someone else mentioned, they could be anything under these lighting conditions.
  11. Thanks Bob. The Sabres are both F-model Sabres made by Fujimi in 1/72 scale. Thanks again for posting, I like seeing comments.
  12. Sweet! I just bought another 1/72 scale Trumpeter T-26 E4 in order to make that version shown on the cover. This will be a big help!
  13. On the west coast, I'd have to put in my vote for three. First: Pegasus Hobbies in Montclair CA. Incredible selection of models, some I've not seen before anywhere else, great people, and an overwhelming selection of aftermarket sets. Heavy reference selection too. Very close second: Brookhurst Hobbies in Garden Grove CA. Awesome selection of models, overwhelming selection of reference material surpassing Pegasus, and wider selection of paints and tools. Their customer service ain't so warm and helpful as Pegasus though; this despite my knowing several employees at Brookhurst well. Pegasus has better service and friendlier people and that's why I put them in the number one spot. My close third choice: Tony's Hobbies and Toys in Baldwin Park CA. Another incredible selection of models, including some carried nowhere else, outstanding tools and paint selection and very complete reference selection. People are awesome too. Very friendly and helpful and Tony is a blast to shoot the breeze with. Ooops! Did I mention too many? I'm sorry!
  14. Well, here it is a week and a half later and I have about six models clearcoated for decals and once I have a chance, I'll get them done. Meanwhile, I got the chance to work on several models while starting a few more at St. Crispin's Irregulars Hobby Day this past Saturday. To start with, I tried to paint "Cuckoo" on the side of Cuckoo's turret. It ain't so easy painting over Zimmeritt! I'll re-shoot the green and try again... Then there is the Italian gun truck that's been sitting partially built on my bench for far too long. I figured it was about time I got his finished. I made some progress on it; building the gun and finishing up some painting. I also applied some Gator Grip Glue on the windshield area to make windows. Next I started a couple other projects. Two of them are F-86 F Sabre Jets. One will be 'MiG Mad Marine' for a Group Build on the Hobbylink (Aircraft of the Aces) and the other will be a Japanese interceptor. Here are the cockpits all painted ready for IP decals: My apologies for the slight blurriness. I took these pics at Hobby Day and I had no tripod. Finally, I started a radar truck for the Russian SA-10 SAM system. Here is the Chassis and most of the large assemblies built: That's about all I got going on right now. I have a couple free days coming up so I'll hopefully have more to show later on. Thanks all for looking, comments are welcome.
  15. Welcome Chuck from one of your IPMS brothers on the south end of the state!
  16. Thanks Gil! Yes, the Skymaster will be civilian. Then I'll get my Piper Azrec and Cherokee built and will finally have the full line of civilian Aircraft offered in 1/72 scale!
  17. Man, these were the most awesome pics I've seen to date! You were one incredible person Ed! I always dreamed of doing something like this back when I was a kid. But where I just dreamed about it, you did it! Way to go!
  18. Well, thanks to some extra time I had this weekend, I managed to get some things worked on. I did some work on a couple projects that didn't warrant pics. There were a few others that I went back to in order to try and get them closer to being finished. Here's a quick update on what I got done. I'll start with Cuckoo. He's ready for decals now, and then some detail painting and track installation: Next are my two ambulances. I'll start with the halftrack. I had painted it and then started to sand parts of it because I didn't like how it looked. I ended up with something that looked like the hairspray method. I like it and will keep it. I do still need to re-touch some areas where some things were fixed, and then I need to add the tracks/running gear assemblies to this and it'll be ready for decals: Next is my Opal ambulance. I got a windshield installed and some camo pattern on it: Finally, not everything I worked on was armor. I almost finished all the assembly on my Cessna Skymaster and shot it with a basecoat of white: Well, that's about all that's worth showing right now. Time to head off to bed. Thanks all for looking, comments are welcome.
  19. Welcome George! I live in LA county myself, but attend the Orange County IPMS meetings every third Friday of the month. Glad to see another Southern Californian here. Maybe one day you could come on down to one of our meetings, if you haven't already.
  20. Welcome to my world. I do it all the time! For one who hasn't ever done this, you did an outstanding job! I am very impressed! Thank you for posting these great pics; I may just have to get one of these now. Congratulations on a job well done!
  21. Wow, these are awesome! I always hate to hear about models destroyed by all those previously mentioned WMDs ('Weapons of Model Destruction': i.e. Ladyfingers, cherry bombs, M80's, cap gun powder strips, BB guns, etc.) and none of my models ever suffered that fate. I'm glad to hear that the two bombers are still in 'service' and I am anxiously awaiting the next series of pics!
  22. Welcome Paul. I'm one of those guys Gil mentioned who builds fast. Check out my Maddog Manufacturing Thread to see what he's talking about. :P  Looking forward to seeing your work too. And don't worry. As Gil said, there are lots of guys who build as you do. Just as long as you are having fun, that's all that matters.
  23. I like the Styrene models. So much easier to build, paint and weather: These are just a few I've done. I also have the Waterloo Farmhouse, a store, and inn, a blacksmith shop, a stronghold, some bunkers, and even a KFC. Yeah, nothing like these.
  24. Thanks Gil! I'll try to get more done this weekend.
  25. Excellent. Thanks for the info guys.
