Appreciate these replies. What is resin? Is it a plastic? What are the advantages over styrene? At the local IPMS meeting this past Thursday I heard mention that resin is "thinner" than styrene and shows detail better. Anyone worked with Verlinden kits before?

I want to add to my civil war models and saw the CSS Hunley submarine and CSS Palmetto State iron clad (Civil War battle ship). These come in resin model kits by Verlinden. I've googled "resin",etc and don't find much info such as Verlinden model reviews or other hits regarding resin modeling. I understand that there is more work to it than styrene (I went ahead & ordered the above kits from scalehobbyist.com). Would appreciate others experience here-- preferences, tips, experiences with resin. Thank you:

People using Google's Picasa as web pic host (instructions below clarified & updated on 01/23/11): After frustration trying repeatedly to post pics to this site out of Google's Picasa host, I think I've stumbled on the routine: 1. Open your online Picasa album (website), the album with your model pics 2. Open the pic you want to insert into the IPMS forum 3. The intuitive thing to do is to obtain the link of the photo (along the right nav bar)-- nope ! doesn't do the job ... 4. You need to right click inside the opened pic(s) 5. select "Copy Image Location" 6. Switch back to your IPMS post & set your cursor (insertion point) where you want the top-left corner of the pic to go 7. Click the "insert image" button in tool bar row above post text field 8. right click in the insert image pop-up field (has http//: highlighted) & hit paste in there-- you're placing the image location here, *NOT* the link of the photo ... 9. Repeat for more photos you want to splice over 10. This seams to work for me ...

This paint-free motor is gradually coming along. Looking at the manifold with 3 carburetors. It was introduced in '66.

Why won't "insert image" work today? When I enter web link from Picasa album site into Work Bench Saturday forum, shows broken image icon. In this forum the link seems to be active, but image still doesn't show fully open: http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/2db_s...feat=directlink

I picked this 1/6 scale motor up recently from Hobby Lobby to build my planning & gluing skills. The info with the box says it's a 1960's bad-ass dragster engine that tore up the raceways. It's a no-paint model with equal mechanical and styrene cementing. You need a jeweler's phillips head for several screw together components. The body is cast iron, so box feels heavy. Revell has a line of 4-5 of these mechanico-styrene engines. Should go fast.

I seem to be having success with Google's Picasa (where I already have an account). When I tried my Box.net account, it didn't do anything. Apparently, they convert images to flash & I couldn't get it to work here. I've retained the thumbnails & just have one full-size from Picasa.

Yes, Lindberg seems to be stocking those anatomical items at HobbyTown. I've seen the visible man; this one model is skeleton only- no organs.

Thanks for the reply. Here is what I found: My Controls > Recently Read *Topics* > Workbench Saturdays. The Workbench Saturdays forum offers an "options" menu. Here are the menu items: Track this topic, email this topic, print this topic, download this topic, subscribe to forum, display modes. Am I missing the switch for date order display? I didn't see any "reverse the order to last entry first."

Hi Dick, is there a step to getting the pics to display full? Maybe you're using the URL insert function. I uploaded the skeleton (above) from my hard drive & it displayed reduced by 85% (thumbnail).
