Spectacular job on that camouflage pattern! Very nice, clean job!
-
I agree with Phil. There are so many 1/72 scale models that can be released; I find it interesting that everyone wants to go bigger... and bigger.... With all the models already finished, where would one put all these monstrosities? Hmm... that's a good question for me to consider as well in reference to a 1/72 scale C-5, C-17 and 747, considering how little room I have on my ceiling as it is!

LOL! You go Gil! :D Nice job on a tank in my favorite scale! I love the additions you did. Excellent work!

I love the extra detail! Way to go, keeping it simple while enhancing the model overall. Brilliant job getting those clear parts so well aligned as well. Most impressive!

New laser cut wood parts for autos
Mark Deliduka replied to pzcreations's topic in Cars, Trucks, & Motorcycles
Awesome! I was going to get one of those woodies and make the body real wood by scratch-building it. You've saved me from that fate! Way to go! -
Sweet! I like it; I should get me one of those. I love Airfix kits!

Wow, looking good! Ya gotta love Airfix kits!

What's in YOUR model box?
Mark Deliduka replied to bob's topic in About the IPMS/USA National Convention
Among my 100+ models, I hope to be bringing my 1/72 scale Dora railgun. I'll also have a six-and-a-half-foot long German Armored train and a four-foot-long Russian armored train. Also looking to bring my 1/72 scale An-12 Cub, C-160 Transall and a few other larger aircraft. We'll see what really gets packed though. -
I like it! There's nothing like working on those old models for a trip down Memory Lane! I'll be watching this one!

Latest Armor Count from the Duke: 635 Models Completed!
Mark Deliduka replied to Mark Deliduka's topic in Armor
So true Rob, they all do put up a good fight. Still, this particular one was a particularly nasty battle. It didn't stop fighting until I finally got the decals on and then it settled down. Yeah, ACE has come a long way and I'm so glad for it. I have found that I do love building ACE's kits, even their earlier ones! -
Maddog Manufacturing 2013 Production Line Updated 7/17

Thanks guys! It sure feels good to be able to show something again. Makes me feel like a model builder again! -
While my PC was down for the count for over a month, I was able to finish a couple things. These three models bring my armor count to 635 completed armor models. First off is the ACE Egyptian OT-62 APC. This was a long, hard fight, but I finally got this together and finished up. Here it is: Next up I finished off the Dragon British SAS Jeep. This has so many delicate parts to it; I'm almost shocked I got it together. Each gun assembly has nine parts to it: And finally, this is my German WC-360 lokomotive from Hobby Boss. This was a fun little build, so much fun I actually built two! I'm only showing the one; the other one is going to go in front of my Leopold rail gun once I get that finished. Besides, it looks the same as this one, except the second one does not have red wheels like this: So, technically I have 636 armor models finished, but I'll count that when my Leopold is done. So, I hope you like my latest. They ain't award winners, but I'm very pleased with them and thrilled to have them in my collection. Thanks all for looking in, comments are welcome.

Maddog Manufacturing 2013 Production Line Updated 7/17
Mark Deliduka replied to Mark Deliduka's topic in Photos: On the Bench
Wow, I finally managed to get my PC back into running order so I can go on and post some of the progress I've done over the last two months. I haven't gotten as much done as I wanted to since I now have a new kitten that I have to keep locked away from my other cat for awhile. My Hobby Room is that place. I can't get much done with the little guy always trying to play, so most all my work is done at Hobby Day now. Boy it sure feels good to finally be able to show my work again. Okay, I'll start with some of the models I was working on while my PC was acting up. This is the HH3C helicopter I'm building. I got all the seams and dimples filled in and sanded down in this pic. I just need to mask the canopy and windows; then check it over before I go ahead and paint it: Next is my little Cessna 172 floatplane. I tried to put the decals on it, and only managed to get these on: The larger ones ended up like this, and as I didn't want to play jigsaw puzzle with these, I have come to an impasse while I try to figure out what I can do to finish this in a scheme that matches what is currently on the model: Moving right along, I applied the first of the decals to my little Henschel scout plane. These are the dive bombing guides for this little plane: Yes, these decals did silver quite a bit, but a little application of some Micro-Sol and they went down fine. Here it is showing the decals and the painted cowl. The Guy in Back isn't glued in yet: Now on to my Yak 28. This is a tough little model, but I'm slowly coaxing it into shape. First thing I did was to add the engine nacelles to the wings: Then I filled the seams and gaps with Mr. Surfacer 500 and let it dry. There were a lot of seams and gaps to fill! here it is with the wings dry-fit to the fuselage: About a day or two later, I was finally pretty satisfied with the final smoothness and went ahead and cemented on the wings and tailplanes: Yes, there are two horizontal stabilizers on the tail. The angle in this pic is such that the far one is completely hidden behind the tail. Well, that's if for the aircraft so far, now on to my armor. I did complete a few of the models that had been shown in progress in previous posts; you can find their completed pics in the Armor Forums here. Meanwhile, here's some of the models I'd been working on since.... This first one is the ACE TOS-1 Buratino. I finally pulled it down and painted on the camo pattern. I still need to touch up parts of it, but for the most part, it is done with painting. There are no decals for this model, so I was going to dig up some markings from my spares box to give this some identity. Then it'll be on to dull-coating and weathering: Next is my Opel staff bus. I dry-brushed the interior, and then decided I didn't like the grey. So, I took some RLM 60-something and painted the interior with it. It may not be accurate (I'm certain it is not) but I like the look better. Now to touch it up: Then I went to add the clear acetate to the windows and found way too many sinkholes. I'd forgotten about those! So, I took some time to get them filled in and sanded smooth. Here's where I am today: Finally, here is a model I had stopped working on five years ago. Reason: I'd lost the decals! Well, while sorting through things, I finally found them! So, I immediately pulled this RPM H-39 down and applied them all to this little model. Here it is soon after all the decals had been applied: Since that pic had been taken; I have since Micro-Sol'd the decals; washed, dullcoated, and weathered this little beastie so that I could add it to the finished list. You can see it there along with the rest of the finished armor. Now on to a couple new armor projects. This first new one is the Revell 17cm Morser artillery piece. I already finished it's cousin, the 21cm Morser, some years ago; I felt it was time to get this one done too. Here is the barrel and the beginning of the main carriage assembly. This is as far as I've gotten so far: Next is a vehicle I picked up some time ago. This is the Trumpeter Warrior ICV(?) that is supposed to be the more advanced version of the Warrior FV432. This is actually almost fully assembled and is now ready for paint: And finally, this is an old PST Zis-5 truck I'm doing for the Softskins Group Build I'm doing on the Missing Lynx Braille Scale Forums. This is as far as I've gotten so far: And there it is. My final lineup to date. As I mentioned, I have several models completed that can be seen in the Armor Forums once I get them posted up. Feel free to check them out when I do. Meanwhile, comments are welcome, thanks all for stopping in! -
I'm using Windows 7 and Firefox and I'm having no problems here.

I don't know about the tail gunner position, but the 'sunroof' is probably to allow the navigator to 'shoot the stars' like my father did on AC-130 gunships in the 'Nam. I could be wrong though.

Well, the Hasegawa kit is a more solid build, and I had no real problems getting it together. I can't vouch for the accuracy over the Mirage kit, but I've heard that the Mirage one is more accurate. Give it a shot as it was a fun little kit for me to build.

I bow in the presence of greatness. This is an outstanding model!

Man, what ever happened to being careful? Back in the day people understood the dangers and took precautions and had some awesome looking stuff! Has everyone gotten so stupidly lazy or lazily stupid that we have to have the Government protect us from ourselves? How idiotic is that? I have a hard enough time making my models look good enough to put on contest tables. I hate having to switch to some thing I don't like to use since it is harder to get as good a finish with it as it is using my enamels. I want the freedom to use what I want, without the stupid Government telling me I can't because I might hurt myself! Geez! I thought when I grew up I'd be treated like an adult, not a child! Okay, I'm done. I'm going to go get more coffee and head out to my hobby room to see if I can get anything done.

I will. It'll be a long term project. So far I have the two SAMs built, later I'll try the Spoon Rest while I arrange to get the Fan Song radar.
-
Thanks for those first two links. Great info. I love Henk's site; I go there quite frequently. And looking at the first link, I just realized I already have the P-18 Spoon Rest Radar truck. Hmmm, time to get started on that.... Now to pick up four more SA-2 SAM launchers and I'll be in business.

And the crowd said "AMEN!" I agree about Tigers and Panthers or any other German subject in 1/72 scale armor. It's the same story; there's so many more WWII Allied and modern subjects just screaming to be done in injection molded plastic yet the model companies constantly release yet another German vehicle! Okay, that was slightly off topic, To get back on topic; I'd love to see some more modern Italian ships in 1/500, 1/600 or 1/700 scale. Ships like the missile cruiser Vittorio Veneto and the Italian aircraft carrier Giuseppe Garibaldi. They are such beautiful ships and yet nobody does them. Then there's the Russian Kashin, Kresta and other 70's-era missile ships that were the mainstays of the Soviet fleet in the heyday of the Cold War, yet nobody does any of them. Good Rant Chris! I agree wholeheartedly!

Invasion stripes of all kinds!
Mark Deliduka replied to ghodges's topic in THEME PICS: Turning point of the war.
sweet! I don't think I have anything with invasion stripes on it. I just wish my PC hadn't been messing up the whole month of June so I could have posted some of my ships! Great job guys! You've done some outstanding work!
