  13. Welcome Kalle! I love hear for other people around the world and how they go about building models. I'm a armor modeler :army7: myself. Funny that you have a interest in post war US NAvy aircraft. I have been around them for a long time. I'm a veteran of the US Navy having served on Aircraft carriers as a catapult chief :gray-plane: . ABE was my rating in the Navy, it stands for Aviation Boatswian Mate Equipmentman (Catapults & Arresting Gear). So ask away if you want. Again welcome aboad glad to have you. :Smile_sceptic: Chris
  14. Wow, Great collection of models. Monty's caravan really stands out. You know when I said keep' um' coming I didn't expect this many. I swear you have a model production factory in your back yard. Great job Mark, really nice section to look at. :m1helmet:
  15. Shannon, First Welcome aboard!!!! Second I would like to echo what Gil said. IPMS is NOT about building for a contest. It is about the FUN and enjoyment that all of us here get out of this hobby. I can see that you personally get most of your joy from helping and watching your two children build models. Don't give up on yourself. ALL of us started somewhere and to be honest most of us really stunk as model builders to start out. This is why most of our early builds met the firecracker fate or somehow found themself crashed into something. Stick with it,there is sooooooooooooo much talent here and everybody is more then willing to share that with you. Just ask!!! :m1helmet: Chris Graeter
  16. Great stuff there Mark. :m1helmet: Still don't know how you work on carpet?
  17. I like your collection. I have all of these in my stash. The Jadgerpanzer can be built with either the long or short barrel. The best thing about these kits and one of the reasons they are so sought after is that they come with a Shep Paine diarama sheet that he did for each kit to help promote them. These diarama's had a lasting effect on most modelers even to this day. The scarey thing is that Shep only had a week to built each kit and put it into a diarama. Talk about skill and craftmanship. One of the hobbies true masters at work. Thanks for sharing Ron!!!! Chris
  18. Well you are right about one thing it is always a parade of new models when you post on here. I aIways pull out my lawn chair and enjoy the show. I think you have completed more models here then I did all of last year. I know I have said that before, I'm sure of it. Anyway as always great job Mark. I see that you are doing more weathering these days. It looks great. Makes you models feel the part more. Thanks for sharing. Chris
  19. Looking good, lot of work to get it this far. Keep on trucking.
  20. Thanks Nick, I don't speek French (German yes) so it is a little hard to navigate the site, but I did add it to my list of sites I visit. Thanks for sharing. Chris
  21. Nothing there my friend!!
  22. Rob, You have your work cut out for you. At one of the reginal AMPS show I go to every year they have an award for the person that takes a old crappy kit and does a lot of work to improve it. This kit would definately fall in to that award.
  23. Judging from the photo I can see that you are doing a little kit bashing? Yes/no? I will be following this build as you progress. I see a lot of molded on items, do you plan on using any aftermarket Items like PE, etc?
  24. Welcome Bob, Your like most of us, took time off from building for family, career, military, etc and now back at it. Glad to have you back and on the forums. Chris :army7:
