  1. Nice boats. Were the white waterlines painted on or decals? I like the Oscar with how the launcher doors along the side swing up to expose its deadly cargo. Cool video also by the way. Bill
  2. I say find one and make the conversion. That way when you get it finished the manufacturers should have one out about then :smiley2:. Then all of us poor souls won't have to slog through the conversion also. So, thanks ahead of time. Just say'n. Bill
  3. That Snark is 1/48th scale. It's pretty big. One of our members has been working on one on and off...mostly off for quite awhile. It is a neat subject. Bill
  4. Very cool looking. That barrel is HUGE! Looks the part. I can't wait to see some paint on it. Bill
  5. Thanks Rob. I looked at the Corporal but didn't pull the trigger on getting one...yet! Bill
  6. RG makes an EC-145 in 72 scale. Medivac. Bill
  7. Thanks for moving it for me Duke. I wasn't sure if that could be done. I think the camo really makes it. At first I was iffy on it. It sure beats Helo Olive Drab. Thanks for looking. Bill
  8. This is the RG 1/32 UH-72 Lakota. A great kit. I got this for my birthday last year and just had to build it. Paint scheme is used in Germany. The Lakota is an Army version of the EC-145 Eurocopter. There are more pics in the general modeling section that were posted in the wrong area in error.
  9. Here is an oldie but goodie that I did this last year. There are a couple of ejector pin marks that need to be dealt with that are very obvious. The worst one is on the top of the stand that sits along side the launcher. It is right in the middle of the piece which has a diamond tread look all over. At first a tried to make it look like a sewer grate. That didn't work out too well though so I tried filling it in and re-scribing the tread pattern...no go on that either. I finally cur a piece of brass plate that was as wide as the sink hole and as wide as the work stand. I filled in the edges with super glue and sanded everything done to get a nice looking cover plate that looks like part of the structure. Another place to work on is the launcher base itself. It comes as two pieces and has a very prominent seam when finished. It is supposed to look like an I Beam when finished. I took thin plastic strut that would fit between the top and bottom of the "I" on each side to cover the resulting seam on all sides. Once painted it looks like a one piece beam. The launcher arm has a seam on that also underneath. To hide that area I took about eight pieces of thin solder and used them as hoses and such that go up to the nose of the missile. I bundled them into a piece of copper tubing that made the umbilical fitting to the missile. The other side of them went into the launcher box by drilling holes into the side of it for them. The solder bundle ends up hiding the seam under the launcher arm. I added flame holders to the back of the engines on the missile to prevent a hollow looking engine nacelle. I painted the nose cone with a 50-50 mix of copper and flat brown to get the color I remembered seeing at the WPAFB museum back in the 60's. The rest of the missile was painted gloss black with Tamiya white primer flying surface tips. Decals were from the kit except for the Stars and Bars as they were a weird shape.
  10. It's been so long I forgot to post this in the aircraft section.
  11. I think it's been a year since I posted a model. Between Photobucket and having to get a new computer and then figuring out a new way to post something I just kind of gave up on doing so. Anyway, I was building stuff throughout the year, so here is one of the models that I got done. I received this last December for a birthday gift from my daughter. The Lakota is a Eurocopter EC-145 in a militarized state. It does VIP transport and light utility along with Medivac. I saw one of these at the Oshkosh Air Show a couple of years back and thought it was a really cool looking helicopter. Low and behold Revell Germany redid their EC-145 Air Ambulance and added a couple of new sprues. I hear the EC-145/UH-72 model is one of Revell's best kits. I thought it was too. So here are some shots of it in all of its gaudy paint scheme splendor. I used MM paints for it for the most part. I had to mix up a color or two for the cammo scheme. Revell only gives you their paint numbers so I had to find a conversion chart which was located and utilized. This was a great model with tons of detail inside and out. I highly recommend this one to anyone who wants a clean build and a nice finished model right out of the box.
  12. This is a test post
  13. Santa was really good to me this year. From the wife, a book on the Viet Nam War, a book on the BAC TSR2, and a Zactomodels update set for the MRC 1/35 OH-58D Kiowa Warrior, the new KITTY HAWK AH-6 Little Bird and the Squadron book on the F-104. From my daughter; Revell Germany 1/48 GR4 Tornado, 1/72 MV-22 Osprey, Sanding pads, AMT Rocket set, Flexible Tamiya tape and a paint mixer from Badger. My son sent me a Hobby Boss 1/72 Seahawk. My daughter's boyfriend got me a modeling visor that has a built in LED light and has 6 different lenses along with a small part picker upper and some new glue. I was stupefied with all of this stuff this year. I thank them all. Bill
  14. Looking good, sir. When everything comes together, it should look fantastic. Great job. Bill

    F-16 Tiger

I think I see a theme developing. Bill
  16. Cool birds Duke! That Lanssen looks like a cross between a P-80 nose with an F-86 tail section. Nice job on both. Bill
  17. WildBill50

    F-16 Tiger

A roaring sucess! Nice job. Bill
  18. And that's the rest of the story! Thanks.
  19. Nicely done, sir! Small parts are a pain on ships. It's bad enough attaching them, but then you usually have to handle the ship to get more on it in a different area. You need it belching smoke. Bill
  20. NICE! I always liked Gentile's Shangri La markings. Bill
  21. Duke, If I had that many kits going at one time I think I would have ended up with something looking like it was from the "Transformers" movies. Bits from one kit placed on the wrong one, just to finish it up. I would have ended up with an A-10 Sherman bus. I don't think anything like that ever existed though. At least not until now. Keep at it Bud! Bill
  22. Two thumbs up for two cool looking busts. Nice job! Bill
  23. Cool looking kit, Kev! What is the skull symbol on the base signify, anything significant? Bill
  24. Rich, Can you build up the missing area on the canopy and then vacuform a new one as an option if the timeframe becomes a problem for you? Just a thought. Bill
  25. Great job, Gil! Love the colors all around. We have come a long way from sticks and paper to carbon graphite for the real things. This is one of those planes that kind of spans between those two opposites. You nailed the transition with this build toward the future of aviation. Bill
