  1. More pics of my progress.... I'll start with the pics from the Year of the Tiger Group Build that I started on the LEM. I started on the Tiger I building the turret first: I didn't get very far because before that I started my IPMS 'New Year's Challenge': the Hasegawa 1/32 scale Tigershark. Here is the instrument panel and cockpit tub: I also built the ejection seat. Here it is dry fit into the cockpit tub: I won't glue it in until I get the instrument panel painted. Moving along, I assembled the two-part tail and wings. They are the biggest pieces on these sprue sets: And finally, I assembled the rear fuselage halves: That is what I got done so far for that Group Build on the LEM. That's because I had a few more models that I was working on. Here's one of them. This is one of my Saabs, and what a 'Saab story' this model is! (sorry, couldn't resist!) [insert bad pun groan here] I got the camo pattern painted using a gloss dark blue, that is why it looks half shiny and half dull. The landing gear and wells are painted too. This one just needs the engine can detailed and the decals added: Yes it is sitting funny; the two main wheels came off so I set them aside for painting. I also have to paint the black on the tires too. The other Saab, is in worse shape. I had to re-fill and re-sand some joints before I shoot it again with the basecoat. Then I get the fun job of painting in that oh-so-wonderful splinter camo pattern!!! So no pics of it....yet Anyway, moving right along, here is where I'm at on the Halftrack Group Build being held on the Missing Lynx Braille Scale Forums. Since this is a riveted Sdkfz 251 Ausf C, as you all know Dragon has included some great little P/E riveted sides to apply to the main hull. Here they are installed: And finally, I assembled all the parts onto the upper hull. That includes the radio on the underside which ain't seen here: That's what I got done on this one so far. Next I also worked on my C-75. I brushed on a coat of OD to see if there were any pits or holes that needed to be filled and sanded along the joints of the wings and tail. (there were) And also to get an idea of what it was going to look like once painted: The engines are all assembled and painted, ready to be mounted onto the nacelles: Aside from all that, I just re-shot some paint on a couple other models. Not enough was done to them to justify pics though, so maybe on the next update. That's where I am so far. Thanks all for looking, comments are welcome.
  2. I did for the basecoat. I don't have a fine tip for the fine pattern, and I've had difficulty with masks, so I hand paint the secondary colors. Maybe someday I'll get the system down. Thanks for the great comments Mark!
  3. Very well done review Phil. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
  4. Thanks Phil! The camo was hand painted. I had difficulty trying to mask it so I just went with what was easier. More pics to come....
  5. Cool. Now to find a US Vendor..... Thanks Phil!
  6. Did they actually paint a Stealth fighter that way? That is cool! You model looks awesome! Thanks for posting!
  7. Beautiful Falcon Charles! Thanks!
  8. I don't know, but I have the 1/72 scale KC-135 hanging on my ceiling right now....
  9. Thanks Dave! I do kind of envy you for having meetings where people build. I for one would love to see some of our guys get together somewhere and have a communal build. Looking forward to seeing your next model. I am als0o going to be starting a Tiger for a Group Build on another Forum.
  10. Thanks Ed! Yeah, lately things have been rough, and so I do take a bit of extra time to spend on the workbench. It's keeping me sane so far! LOL! It's good that you've been volunteering. I will have to look back into serving for Habitat for Humanity again. Meanwhile, I've got nine more kits in progress; stay tuned for the next ones to be finished....
  11. Thanks guys! Actually Jay, these were completed in the second month, but hey, who's counting right? Thanks for the great comment. I'll be looking forward to what you get in 1/43rd scale; should be interesting to see. Some of those little cars are real gems! Thanks for the kudos! Dave thanks! I think it looks so much better with the decals too. Thanks again for posting!
  12. Thanks Bob! I may most likely be building this in Military livery as a Military transport. I'll keep you posted. Keep watching here!
  13. Situation all fixed. looking forward to the pics!
  14. Thanks Mark!! I like it too! I'm glad it turned out so well after the latest disaster.
  15. Finally, I can say that I finished something in the New Year! I'll start out with my little 1/76 scale Airfix-boxed JB Models British Land Rover Ambulance. It was a basic kit and was getting on my nerves. I could have finished it better, but I just wanted it finished so here it is: And a shot of the basic interior: Speaking of basic kits, I completed two 1/72 scale UM Models ZSU-37 anti-aircraft vehicles. One is an earlier version of the other one. Here's the 1943 version of the ZSU 37: Here's the 1944 version: They ain't award winners, but hey, I'm glad to have them on my shelf! Next, I finally was able to add this model to the completed shelf after waiting for two years for the chance to finish it! This is my 1/72 scale UM Models Su-122 assault gun finally finished: And finally, the damage from Hans Rudel's attack has been repaired and this bad boy is finally ready to hit the steppes! Here's my 1/72 scale Dragon Su-100: Oh, and one last thing. I actually managed to find the decals to my Br-52 Kriegslokomotive in only one month instead of one year! So, while I was decaling everything else, I got them placed on my train and shot a fine mist of dust color over it. Check it out, I can finally call this one done: There they are, my parade of my first models for 2010. Thanks all for looking and comments are welcome!
  16. Cool! I'm building this 1/48th scale Monogram one for a friend of mine who started the development project for the Dart before retiring. Someone else carried it through to production. Stay tuned for more. And it's been fighting me like a catfish too! Soon I may be able to shoot paint on it. Sounds good! I'll take you up on that. Here's more of my progress on a few more kits...... To start out with, I shot a coat of flat black over my Stealth Fighter: I also had shot the landing gear and the bomb bay rails in white as well. This one should fly together pretty quickly now. Next, I managed to go to the hobby shop for some more paint. Now my HEMMTT is showing a full camo pattern: And finally, I assembled my little Matilda with the Spigot mortar. It is only a basic assembly right now. Detail parts will come later. Hopefully I'll also find that missing fender cover too: That's all the work I managed to do for now on these projects. Meanwhile, I finally finished five models already. Feel free to check them out in the Armor Forum. Meanwhile, thanks for looking in. Comments are welcome.
  17. Gorgeous Ron! Simply gorgeous! I remember building mine too. I like the added levers and such you put on there. I may have to try that on mine. Thanks for posting.
  18. Well I like it Ron! Forget the Tiger I, there's too many of them out there anyway! I like seeing some Allied armor! Thanks for posting! Somewhere on my bench I have a DUKW just sitting, practically finished. I lost then decals ages ago so it has been just sitting.... Maybe someday I'll get some decals and finish it.
  19. Oh yeah! Me too! Especially when I'm SO CLOSE to being done!! Maybe today!
  20. I'm also hoping they follow up with a tanker version as well. However, I do believe that there is a resin company that does a tanker conversion kit for a tanker version. I may be wrong though. Personally, I'd find it better if they made an injection molded tanker version. I'm looking forward to seeing what the next "Ground Vehicle Set" is going to be!
  21. Hmm, no replies yet eh? Okay well, I'll just continue posting my progress anyway. Today it was raining again so I took some time to build some models. I didn't get as much done on other models as I wanted to because of all the sanding I was doing to my C-75 but I finally have the wings and tail on it now, and the windows have all been sanded smooth so far. Check it out:: There's still a gap there at the wing root. Already got it filled with CA glue. Gonna sand it later. I started the camo pattern on my HEMMTT too. But I haven't got the black color so it's time to go shopping for paint: And finally, I was given an instrument panel for my F-106 Delta Dart that I'm building for a friend. I took some time to get it painted: Oh, and on the the Anti Tank Group Build on the LEM, I was finishing up my Su-100 when suddenly, Hans Rudel struck: In actuality, the tracks were too tight and so the idler wheels and one of the first roadwheels on one side broke off as I was weathering it. This pic shows where I used the Tenax-7 to 'weld' them back on with some reinforcement so hopefully I'll have this finished tomorrow. Thanks all for looking, comments are welcome.
  22. Looking good! I'm halfway through mine already. I'll be painting mine in a three-tone NATO camo pattern though. Thanks for posting!
  23. Those look awesome! Way to go! That was well worth the wait. Now to see bigger pics!
  24. Wow! That is intense! I guess I'm way to far away from claiming a title for quantity! I only have 1100+ built! Looking at these was awesome! Man, I'll be wasting a day just checking them all out. Way to go and thanks for posting that.
  25. Thanks Rob!
