  8. Okay people, I'm posting this here because of the fact that I have a wide variety of models finished and I wanted to keep them in one thread. There'll be multiple posts on this Thread due to the pics limitation, so bear with me here. There are a lot of pics to see, as I managed to finish 66 models in 2009. So, sit back and enjoy the parade! Starting in January, here they are. January only three: MPC's 1/72 scale F-86D Sabre Dog Flugzeug-Modelkasten 1/72 scale Sukhoi Su-7 BKL Fitter. 9. But it would fit well on one! This is my Blacksmith shop I had to build when I got it in November. Since I used to blacksmith 1820's style, I figured I needed this. It sure brings back memories! Anyway, here it is: And that is my absolute final model for 2009! Feel free to check out my other finished models in the Armor Forums as well. Thanks all for looking, comments are welcome.
  10. And finally, I have wrapped up 2009 with four more armor models; three trucks and a locomotive. Yes, I'm calling the Br-52 done even though there's no decals. It may be years before I find them or get some from Trumpeter so for all intents and purposes, this puppy is done! Wanna see it? Okay, here it is: Man, I'm glad I finally finished that one. It has to be the most challenging model I've built since the Christie Fire Truck! Next are these three trucks. First is Hasegawa's 1/72 scale GMC CCKW 353 Cargo Truck: Next is Airfix's, formerly JB Models 1/76 scale Bedford 4-Tonne General Purpose truck: And finally, a little beast from UM Models. This is the 1/72 scale Russian Su-1-12 Gun Truck: That's all my armor models for this year. I have one more to show and I've posted it in the Dioramas Forums. Feel free to stop in and see my Blacksmith shop. Meanwhile, thanks all for looking, comments are welcome. Now to go post my 2009 Year in Review......
  11. Okay, I have four armor models done, and another two trucks almost done. Here are my latest finished armor models: First is my 1/72 scale Model Wheels Egyptian T-.34 122mm self propelled gun. Oops, forgot to paint the straps on the camo net in back. Oh well, easy fix. Another Model Wheels creation, the 1/72 scale Syrian T-34 with D-30 self propelled gun: The gun does elevate to 70 degrees and traverse 360 degrees. Next is my ACE 1/72 scale Iraqi BMP I: Not bad for a limited-run kit. This one actually went together far better than my first BMP I. And finally, another little gem from ACE that I finished up. I didn't post in progress pics because this was supposed to be for a review, but..... I lost the review I'd written up. Hopefully, I'll find it soon, and get it done. Meanwhile, since I did finish this in 2009, here it is; ACE's 1/72 scale Pioneer Panzerwagen: Well, that's all I got done so far. There'll be two more, possibly three or four more finished models today, so stay tuned. Meanwhile, feel free to check out the ships Forums for my latest Russian submarine. Thanks all for looking, comments are welcome.
  12. Here's my progress on my last models for 2009. I might even get at least one of these done before the end of the year. I'll start with my Br-52. This model is all assembled and fully painted. I have coated it with a clearcoat and washed it: Now all it needs are decals and a dullcoat, but........ I lost the decals. So much for finishing this one this year. I may just dullcoat it and weather it and call it done anyway. Trumpeter has not answered my order for replacement decals so unless I find them again, I'll never be able to decal it anyway. Moving right along. then..... I did alot more work on my Blacksmith shop. The forge is painted and ready to go in: These next pics are of the building itself after I'd done a dark brown wash on it. The roof parts are not cemented down, nor is the forge cemented in place yet: I might even got this building done today. Aside from these, I have two more trucks to finish. They are at the weathering stage now so I didn't take any pics since the next ones I'll be taking will be finished pics. Speaking of finished pics, feel free to check out my other five models I finished yesterday. Four armor and one submarine. They are in their respective Forums. Thanks all for looking and comments are welcome.
  13. Ying, that is an awesome bird! Well done!
  14. Thanks for the compliment Ed. Speaking from my experience, this seems to be the same mold as the Monogram B-1A from about a decade ago. I built that one some time ago and have it hanging on my ceiling. I remember on the other one the cockpit was a bit more detailed, but that seems to be the only change in this model. Everything else was the same. The Revell kit is still out there. My client said that he'd gotten his mail order from Great Models. Keith, thanks man! I'm thrilled that it is done as well.
  15. Thanks Ed. You hit it on the head. I plan on putting a couple of dark washes over this once I get everything painted right. More pics forthcoming.
  16. Thanks Bob! I was hoping for that effect.
  17. Bob, I agree. It did fit exceptionally well I felt. Thanks for the compliment.
  18. Well, I had the house to myself so I decided to try and make a bit more progress. I'm hoping to finish more than a few of these in-progress builds before the New Year. One thing I was not looking forward to was putting the tracks on the BMP 1 and the two T-34 conversions. So that is what I did. Here they are with the tracks on and the start of a basecoat on each one. Egyptian T-34: Syrian T-34: And finally, the BMP I that I've decided to make Iraqi, since I already have one of these in my Russian Army: Yes, the paint looks glossy. I don't know why. It is Testor's Sand Beige and for some reason it always comes out glossy. Oh well, I'll be flattening these out anyway. Next I got some more done on the little Russian gun truck. The windows are in, the cab is built, and I painted the whole thing with an olive drab basecoat: I liked the color so much, I re-painted the GMC truck with it: Finally, I got some more progress done on my blacksmith shop: The roof was still wet when I took this pic. Well, that's my Christmas Eve progress so far. Hopefully some of these will be finished by the New Year. Thanks all for looking, comments are welcome.
  19. Thanks Gil! He seemed very pleased. He has even mentioned wanting me to build him a B-24 later on. We'll see. Thanks Ying. This was in 1/72 scale but I agree it is huge. However, it isn't my first huge one. I also have my own B-1 bomber, two B-52's, a KC-130 tanker, an E-3B AWACS, a B-36, B-47, British Victor bomber, British Vulcan bomber, a Tu-22 Blinder, Tu16 Badger, and a Tu-26 Backfire, among others, hanging from my ceiling. Everyone of those is just as huge, if not larger, than the B-1 I just finished. Thanks again for posting guys!
  20. Here it is a bit late. I finished this up on Friday and delivered it to my client just before my IPMS meeting. Finally, I'm able to post the pics. This is the Revell 1/72 scale B-1 Bomber all finished: I have it sitting up on a paint tin because the main landing gear legs were still a bit wet. I wanted to let the glue set a bit more. A view of the payload underneath: ...and a close up of the nose art for "Iron Maiden" and the pilot inside: That's about all for now. Thanks all for looking and comments are welcome.
  21. Hey Bob, I guess that's why my client wanted a Bone! Yes, it is finished. I just have to find some time to get the finished pics posted. Hopefully later today. Keep your eyes peeled on the Aircraft Forum, pics should be forthcoming soon.
  22. Well done Chris! And I agree, there's NO better scale than 1/72!
  23. Cool! Someday I hope to see this shrunk to 1/72 scale infection molded plastic.
  24. You're right Ed, I can see how that looks. It does look bigger than 1/72 scale. Anyway, I got that one finished and need to post the pics. Maybe later today. Thanks again for the comments.
  25. John, yes, this B-1 is in 1/72 scale. Unfortunately, I got your post too late. I finished the model and delivered it last night. I did get some pics which I'll post a little later, but there won't be any yardstick there. Sorry, Ed, that B-1 was in 1/72 scale. And yes, about the only time I will build 1/48th is when it is a commission build. I have only built one 1/48 scale plane that I kept for myself, but that is a story for another day. The guy I did the B-1 for is going to also commission me for a B-24 Liberator in 1/72 as well. We'll see when. I also gave the F-102 to my friend that I built it for. I have pics showing the delivery that I'll post later as well. The F-106 is still under construction. Finally Ed and John, thank you very much for the compliments. They are one of the things that really keep me motivated to build more and better models.
