That little mechanic gets around. There is a preiser set with USAAF figures with great poses. The P-47D is from Matchbox and has been tweaked just a bit. When I build it again I will sand off the canopy framing and apply thinner frames. It's still a nice simple kit. This was a test shot trying out different setting. The Quonset is from ebay. The tarmack is sandpaper with pencil line joins. The little RAF starter is metal I bought it from Hannants. The ladder is photo-etch.

Now that is making a silk purse from a sow's ear. Excellent diorama by any standard. Well done sir.

Matchbox 1/76 Jadgpanther First off, I really like the Matchbox series of 1/76 armor kits. A totally different hand made the masters for these tiny models compared to their 1/72 kits. The Jadgpanther is a favorite from the series. So here is my little Jadgpanther. I added some extra bits to it and I used pastels for weathering. Their little Stuart tank is a gem.

That's a lovely model. Monogram really scored when they issued this kit. Well done Gil. David

Thanks Gil! On my 1/72 Ju88 models I use decal strips. It is so much easier than trying to mask off each pane. I used MicroScale decal sheet pre-printed in RLM 66 and painted the correct color over it. On the newer JU88 kits I suppose there are precise masks available. Thanks again.

Airfix 1/72 Junkers Ju88A The classic Airfix 1/72 Junkers Ju88A-4 I built this about 4 years ago and did update a couple of items. I used a Mattel vac-form machine to make new clear parts, since the ones in the box were dense and not as crisp as once before. I had extra parts from an AMT kit and used the cockpit and wheels from that kit. In the end it looks just like the Ju88 even if the cowlings are a bit swollen.

Wonderful models Mark. I especially like both versions of the omnibus.

Thank you Bob. I appreciate it. The kit was in a deteriorating box so I decided to just build it and see how it looks. I sold it on eBay.

Thank you very much! This one was fun to build.

Thanks Craig! I built this kit exactly as the instructions indicated and used the Humbrol recommendations. I was surprised how well the camo turned out. It's a fun simple kit, but the nose though, it does take some patience.

This is the Airfix Do217 first issued in 1960. It is built as the instructions indicated and I also used the paints recommended by Airfix. The hardest part was masking the nose which I did one frame at a time. The landing gear is missing support structs and should be added. I did sand all surface detail and did some minor scribing. I also used the kit decals. So here she is built just as Airfix indicated in the instructions.

That is not big secret or sleigh of hand he does use pre-made diecast but that does not mean the work is inferior at all. I've not seen such wonderful work before.

Simply amazing and wonderful work. Some of the miniature work in Hollywood movies from the time was not much better. Thank you very much for sharing your work. David

Wonderful models sir. Which one is the oldest model? I say the Revell 1/72 Me262. I can't make which kit the Arado 234 is. Thanks for posting the link. Those photos of USN Connie are a gold mine. Can I download them for my reference when building the Revell WV-1? David -
Thank you. It's a lot of fun once you have all the kits ready. Give it a shot.
