  1. Great job on that 104. I don't care what others say, I like the Hasegawa 104 and you're right Gil, it's relatively easy to build.

    I had twins!!!

Hasegawa A6M5 Type 52 and A6M5 Type 52 Koh. Decals were brittle on both but otherwise fun kits to build. Nice detail OOB but I did add an old Cutting Edge seat to both. I have the Tamiya (new tool) and FineMolds kits to do next.
  3. That came out great!! Good grief.....I can't finish mine and it's been 5 years!!!
  4. Great job on that kit!!! Well done!
  5. Awesome cousins Ron!!! Well done!! Don't see many Nimrods built, that's for sure.
  6. SWEET!!! That looks awesome!! I picked up one of these a couple months ago....hope it comes out this nice!! BTW.....I really wish Airfix would do a 48th Demon, or even a Hart.
  7. Thanks Gil. I have never had problems with Eagle Strike decals, old or new, until this set. These just kept cracking. I changed the upper side pics as I noticed I had forgot to paint the leading edge of the wings......DOH!! Fixed now.
  8. Finally finished....I think, the 2nd Spit. F. 22. I used old and brittle Eagle Strike decals (some of which failed even after a coat of decal film....UGH) for the 73 Sqn. markings. I'm not a Spitfire guy but these Griffon-powered Spits. are just cool looking to me.
  9. VERY nice!! I really dig that Connie!! I Never had the guts to try and build it though. Well done!!!!!
  10. WOW! Nice job on the scratched pit! Looks like Combat got the shape pretty close to accurate. Looking real nice so far Gil but I'll admit......THAT is way outta my league.
  11. "Warhammer miniatures"?? WAY too small for my Mk. 1 eyeball!! Welcome aboard!!!
  12. Thanks Gil. I used Tamiya AS-12 Bare Metal silver(decanted so I could air brush it).
  13. Finally picked up another AU-1 at a decent price.
  14. THAT came out nice!!!
  15. of the Royal Egyptian Air Force. This is one of two 22s I'm building and they are both original releases (cheaper than the latest release). Not a bad kit, only a few fit issues but nothing major. I wish the Eagle Strike decals were a little more accurate but it is what it is. I did use the Eduard seatbelts and Zoom set for this but everything else is OOB.
  16. I kinda liked it. I'm not sure how that SB2A-3 build by Wayne Holmes isn't inspiring, but maybe it's just me.
  17. Kits World does some. https://www.kitsworld.co.uk/index.php?CATEGORY=9&SUB=4
  18. Very nice!!
  19. Did this for the IPMs reviews and will be posted in the near future.. Fun little kits with a nice selection of markings. Looking forward to their Ki-43!!!

  20. Great job on both Mark!! The paint scheme on the Otter is pretty cool but that JRS-1 and it's Yellow Wings are just glorious! BTW.....I can just hear it now. "Men, we've been attacked by a large force of Japanese Naval aircraft from points unknown. We need volunteers to take the JRS on a search mission to find them.....who wants to volunteer?" 😬😬😬😬
  21. Yep, been looking as I really don't think I can scratch those.
  22. Pre ordered mine a few days ago! Now I gotta get some etched rails for it. Does anyone make 1/600 3"-50s????
  23. Alclad Airframe Aluminum might be a better choice at first. I have no idea what would look like over that though.
  24. VERY NICE Gil!!!! You are correct about the cover art. The first 5 pages of chapter 13 cover that mission.
  25. I just picked up another of the EAGLES OVER THE PACIFIC books from David Doyle Books. I already have 'KEN'S MEN AGAINST THE EMPIRE' History of the 43rd Bombardment group in WWII Volume I: Prewar to Oct 43 9407 pages). Now I have added 'HARVEST OF THE GRIM REAPERS' History of the3rd and 27th Bombardment Group in WWII Volume I: Prewar - Dec. 42 (528 pages). I must say that these books have so much information and pictures it's almost info overload!! They are not cheap to be sure and I have spent my book budget money for a couple years all at once BUT IT WAS WORTH IT! Many color profiles with an appendix covering all of them in both volumes. honestly, I never should have picked up HARVEST as now I want to build a B-25C and an A-20A!! Luckily, I'm out of money for a while!!!! https://daviddoylebooks.com/piston-engine-aircraft/kens-men-against-the-empire-volume-i https://daviddoylebooks.com/piston-engine-aircraft/harvest-of-the-grim-reapers-volume-i-prewar-december-1942-hardcover-mjb65
