  1. Great job on a unique aircraft!
  2. Thanks guys! Working on an Academy B-17G OOB right now just for stress relief!
  3. Great job on this fun kit!! I don't mind the seat belt decals as much as the "camouflage decals"! Your paint job is superior to the decals and looks more realistic. And you are correct, this kit OOB is pretty darn good. Well done!
  4. This was a build for a friend who used to work for Bell but wasn't involved with the Osprey. Being an average modeler this kit kicked my behind from start to finish. I just had to scratch a little more for the interior since Italeri missed a bit. I also used Quinta Studio 3D decals for the cockpit.....added quite a bit to it (YES, I know they are for the HB kit, but they did work on this one......most of them anyway). used Mr. Paint lacquers and tried Caracal Decals for the first time, which are pretty nice. The engineering, tooling and fit of this kit leave a bit to be desired, but it can be built!
  5. Thanks Gil! I experimented on another kit and it worked so I didn't prime this one. I used the Mr. Paint and Tamiya lacquers straight on to the bare plastic.
  6. Built OOB because it's nice enough without any aftermarket. I used MRP-425 IJNAF D2 (Black Green) and Tamiya lacquer IJN Light Gray for the fuselage. The cowl is MRP-432 IJNAF Q1 Cowling Color. The prop is MRP-431 Propeller color, the interior is MRP-430 IJNAF M0/M1 Gray-Green and the Aotake is MRP-410 Aotake Blue Primer. Need to take a break before I work on the FineMolds A6M5.
  7. REALLY nice!!
  8. Turned out fantastic!
  9. Great job Ron. What colors/paints/washes did you use on the bird? It looks awesome!!
  10. Awesome job Ron. The Blue Knight is the sharpest one for me. That red one though......I can picture him in a Monty Python sketch for some reason. I mean, really, how intimidating is a two headed turkey? 😁
  11. This was a rescue kit from a friends estate. I needed some mottle practice....I need more, so I decided on a Hungarian 109. The tail decals were crap so I painted the red/white/green. Definitely not the best 109 kit on the market, but it goes together and hey......it looks like a 109G.
  12. Great job on both!!
  13. Hard to believe that's the old Airfix kit. Outstanding job!

    VERY NICE!!!
  15. Just finished this for the review Corps.......or so I thought. Just noticed I forgot the aerial....DOH! Nice little kit but a bit finicky and some flash/heavy mold seam lines. I like it and will have to do another and hopefully they do a -1 version. Maybe they will do a 48th????
  16. Stunning work!!
  17. AWESOME!!! That is a nice looking model of a nice looking aircraft, well done!!
  18. Bolkow-Blohm Bo-105. Ok, it's not a 109 but it's still kind of a Messerschmitt. somebody donated a bunch of kits to our club in return for us building a couple kits for him. I'm working on a Italeri 1/48 Osprey but decided to build this one for him also. Pretty cool helo but this kit.....ugh. This is a 1980 boxing and the decals worked....with some effort. The clear pieces were a perfect 0 for 8 as none of them fit. This was an OOB build so at least I had that going for me AND the client was very happy with it.....which is all I really hope for. I haven't built a helo in something like 40 years and it shows.
  19. WOW, stunning build!
  20. Just slapped these together OOB just to have some fun. Cool kits of interesting subjects and they gave me a break from aircraft for a bit.
  21. OUTSTANDING!!!! She looks good, well done Ron!!
