  1. Based on information on the Hyatt Phoenix website, it looks like they don't. Mike
  2. Hi Mike, Members of foreign IPMS chapters do not need to be members of IPMS/USA to register for the convention. Just include your home country IPMS number on the registration form and we will assign you a temporary number for the purposes of entering the contest, etc. The General Admission fee is $10 per day or a multi-day pass can be purchased for $25. Children under 10 (with a paid adult), military personnel with ID and first responders in uniform are free. Hope this answers your questions, Mike Ronnau
  3. The tram from the airport to the 44th Street station is free. According to the Light Rail website, it is $2 for a single trip from the 44th Street station to the 3rd Street & Washington station. Then it is about a one block walk north to the hotel. Uber estimates anywhere from $15 to $50 depending on the size of vehicle you use (based on Uber Fare Estimate from Sky Harbor Airport to Hyatt Regency Downtown). Hope this helps and we will see you in August! Mike
  4. It is a two step process that may be confusing the issue. When you click on the online registration link on our website, you are taken to the page shown in the first example image. Since you have already registered, click on the T-shirt link and it will take you to a new page (example image 2). Then if you click on the line art of the T-shirt or on the "IPMS National Convention T-Shirts" text under the image, you will be taken to another page (example image 3) where you can select the quantity and size of T-shirts you want, and it had an ADD TO CART button. Banquet tickets follow the same process. If you aren't seeing the different pages on the computer you are using, or if the links aren't working, I would suggest trying the process in a different browser. If you are still having problems, then I'm sure we can use the paper system to get you taken care of. Hope this helped. Mike
  5. Hi Mark, Both links seem to work for me. You need to click on the image (or text) and it takes you to a separate page where you can choose quantity, and in the case of the t-shirts, the size also. Hope this helps and let us know if you are still having issues. Mike
  6. Hi Stuart, Thanks for pointing out that deficiency. I will make sure the website (and hopefully the shopping cart items) are updated to reflect the day and date for the tours. The Pima tour is scheduled for Thursday, August 2nd and the Orbital ATK tour is scheduled for Friday, August 3rd. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused and we will give plenty of warning if anything changes. Mike
  7. Trophy sponsorship forms will be active as soon as the shopping cart goes active, which should be by the end of the month. And there will be an online sponsorship form for those that prefer using the US mail. If you have any questions about trophy sponsorship, you can contact Jim Clark, the Contest Chair, directly at contestchair@ipmsusanationals2018.org. Hope to see you in Phoenix! Mike
  8. We are planning a tour down to the Pima Air & Space Museum in Tucson on Thursday, August 2nd. Details should be published by the end of the month. We are also working on a tour to Orbital ATK. More details will be provided when we get them. Thanks for your patience, Mike
  9. The doors will open Wednesday afternoon. While some vendors may still be setting up, the vast majority should be in the hall and up and running. Also, it is a good opportunity to get your registration packet and enter your models before the big crush on Thursday and Friday. Mike
  10. There is a build thread on Kampfgruppe for this kit (http://www.kampfgruppe144.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?t=1632). One of the later posts states that the RLai He-111 is a rebox of of the CafeReo He-111 (https://www.scalemates.com/companies/company.php?id=2396) Sorry if wantonly posting links to other forums and websites is a faux pas.
  11. Hi All, This is just a quick note to remind you that the room reservations system for the 2018 IPMS/USA National Convention goes live tomorrow, September 30, 2017. To reserve your room, visit our website (www.ipmsusanationals2018.org) and go to the Accommodations Page. A link to the Downtown Hyatt Regency will take you directly to the reservation page the Hyatt has set up for our convention, so no need for discount codes or secret handshakes. The room rate is $135 per night for up to two people, and the rate is good from July 29th through August 7th, 2018. If you have any questions, please contact us via email at info@ipmsnationals2018.org, or our Facebook page, or post a question here on the forums. Thanks for looking and have a great weekend. We'll see you in Phoenix!
  12. The Hyatt Regency in downtown Phoenix. The same hotel we used in 2004 and 2010.
  13. We will have a copy available on the website when we go live, but until then, here is a .PDF copy of the flyer we distributed in Omaha. Mike Nats flyer.pdf
  14. Sorry about that. You can't, yet. I copied the verbiage from one of our flyers. The website isn't active yet and won't be for at least a couple more weeks. I have edited my original post to reflect that. If you don't want to use the text message method, you can always send me your email address via Private Message and I will enter it in the system.
  15. Our first update will be coming out in the next couple of weeks and it will contain important dates for when things start going live (room reservations, registration, facebook page, etc.). Once the newsletter is out, the information will be posted on the IPMS forums and our social media pages. To receive monthly convention updates, add your email address to our mailing list by texting IPMS2018NATS to 22828 (Message and data rates may apply.) If you gave us your name and email address at our table in Omaha, you are already set to receive the updates.
  16. Looks really nice, Gil. I wish I could see it in person.
  17. Gil, that's brilliant! Won't help the vacuform FJ-3 Fury sitting in my display case, but it will definitely get filed away for future projects. Thanks! Mike
  18. I don't have any complete models from childhood, but I still have the Monogram Battlestar Galactica, Colonial Viper and Cylon Raider. The Galactica and Viper have been torn down and are (slowly) in the process of being rebuilt. One thing I will not fix on the bottom of the Galactica is a fingerprint made in a glue smudge in the plastic. It will stay there in honor of the 13 year old (me) that originally built the kit.
  19. Very nice Chris! Does the kit come with the pylon sway braces and actuator rods for the gear doors or did you scratch build those?
  20. When I was getting bubbles in the color cup on my Iwata, I found that after a full breakdown and cleaning I had not tightened the head cap (nozzle cap on your model) enough to the body. Hopefully a good cleaning and making sure all the parts are firmly tightened will fix your problem.
  21. I see that the decals are back in stock in the SSM store. Might have to get a set or two for myself.
  22. If you haven't done so yet, I would suggest contacting John at Starship Modeler at onezero@starshipmodeler.com and asking if he will be doing another run of the decals.
  23. You would probably have to do some modifications, but Plastruct and Preiser make 1:200 architectural figures.
  24. For acrylic paint, I really like Tamiya. I use their thinner to thin it for airbrushing and then clean the airbrush with Windex (with ammonia D). The problem with Tamiya paint is their color range. If you are looking for a specific FS or RLM color, you are mostly out of luck. In fact, other than WWII Japanese colors, everything else usually requires some mixing of multiple colors (per their own instructions). On the other hand, ModelMaster has a really good color range, but can be a bear to clean out of your airbrush. Use the wrong chemical and the paint turns to sludge.
