  1. How about an OO gauge police box ...
  2. Pertwee was also my favorite, Ron. Now if you could find a 1/76 scale Betsy to go with the Landrover.
  3. You could also make a temporary "room" around your workbench out of bed sheets, tarps or plastic drop cloth. It creates a smaller area to cool and should save you a few dollars. In a confined space, it is easier to dehumidify, also. Good luck!
  4. IPMS Stockholm. Great reference site. http://www.ipmsstockholm.org/helpdesk.asp
  5. My favorite will probably always be Tamiya acrylics. They shoot nicely and I can clean the airbrush out with Windex. The problem with Tamiya paints is the lack of specific colors. I actually like being able to buy a paint per its FS number, rather than mixing colors and hoping I get the right color. This is especially true if I don't mix enough for the first round of painting. My issue with MM Acryl paint has always been cleaning it out of my airbrush, until I found that denatured alcohol actually cuts it and cleans out the airbrush. For primer, I have been using Mr Surfacer 500 or 1000 shot through my airbrush, and so far, haven't had a problem with MM Acryls adhering to it. I agree with everyone else about thinning. I try to only use the manufacturer's thinner. Less chance of a gloppy (technical term) mess in my airbrush. Welcome to the forums, and good luck!
  6. Did you just blank off the "missile tube"? I have been debating what to do with the nose depression, since there are very few shots of the front of the viper.
  7. Actually, it's too large. It needs to be 1/72 like all the other Fine Molds Star Wars kits (except that crappy 1/48 X-Wing they came out with) :D
  8. Hobby Search has a lot of instructions of all types. Starship Modeler has quite a few also, but they are mostly sci-fi related.
  9. Duuuuude! Depends on what part of town you will be in. Phoenix Area Hobby Shops From the map, I recommend 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 9. Looks like we need to update the map, also. Are you staying long enough to visit for a bit? Later Mike
  10. Well, since he is a member of IPMS Phoenix/Craig Hewitt Chapter, I will see if I can convince him to come to next years Nationals (if he is not already planning on coming). BTW, sorry for hijacking your thread, Ken.
  11. I have shot "Pledge with Future Shine" through an airbrush with no difference in results compared to my 8 year old bottle of Future.
  12. And with the exception of the Harrier, I'm just not seeing a lot of panel lines. Thanks for the pictures guys. I would have loved seeing these aircraft in person.
  13. Well, I'm driving solo to Colorado Springs for the Regional AND Columbus for the Nationals. You tell me...
  14. Silly question, but is there occasionally a user purge? I noticed a few days ago that there were 666 registered users (take that number for what it is worth ) but now there are only 654.
  15. Last I heard (over on the Starship Modeler boards) the Akira is on hold and Round2 will be producing a 1/1000 refit Enterprise to be released in December.
