Hey all, trying once again to get back into the hobby I've loved since childhood. Gave it a go back in 2006 after a 15 year hiatus, but life did what it does best and got in the way. Hopefully I'll have a bit better luck this time around. WWII aircraft have always been my focus and passion, both full and 1/48 scale. The sound of a big radial engine still makes me beat feet outside to see what's flying over. Still have a few kits stashed away that I hope to get started on soon. Presently I'm getting my work area setup and stocked while I try and remember skills I had and learn new ones from folks like you.

Being a resident of southeastern Oklahoma means there's not much in the way of scale model clubs or organizations for a hundred miles or more in any direction, so thank goodness for the internet and forums like this. Hope you guys don't mind if I hang out and ask a few questions here and there. My skills are far below all of you based on what I've seen so far, which is a good thing for me - lots of talented folks to learn from

Dave,

Its still a bit of a drive but you have two clubs just to your west in the greater OKC area.

IPMS Metro and IPMS Oklahoma Historical Modelers Society share members and space in Oklahoma City.

Email addies for their Chapter Contacts will be forthcoming to you via PM.

Hello Dave and welcome to the forum from your neighbor from below the Red River-Texas. We're here to help, so feel free to join in. My area of interest (1930-1955) also takes in WWII aircraft subjects. I don't mind helping out. Have a happy Thanksgiving.

Thanks for the welcome guys! :smiley20:

Don't worry Mark, I'll be posting plenty of pics once I get cranked up. Hopefully they won't make you guys cringe :smiley17:

Already pulled my first subject from what's left of my stash. Eduard's 1/48 F6F-3 Wildcat #8221. Looking forward to getting started!
