Brilliant work! Thanks for posting! -
Sweet! Love the setting it's in too!

Awesome! I have one of those hanging on my ceiling! Great photograph!

I love it! I have to build one of those in Libyan service like this.

Hey all! Here are my two latest ACE guns in 1/72 scale. Both of these were built OOB and hand painted. First the German PAK 43 88mm towed anti-tank gun: Next is the German PAK 43 Neuntoffer; which is essentially the same gun mounted on a cross-base for a 360-degree arc of fire: That's all for now. I have a few more models to try and finish, hopefully I'll have more to show you soon. Thanks all for looking in, comments are welcome.

It sure feels good to finally finish something! Here are my two latest aircraft models completed. This first one is the old 1/712 scale Heller model I bought for $20.00. It's a very basic build and severely lacking in details, but it does look good when done. I did this up as an aircraft in German service; the French version was an ESM/ECM type aircraft with antennas and bits and bobs everywhere that I would have broken off numerous times as I tried to finish the model so I opted for the 'cleaner' German variant: This next model is a Hobby Boss 1/72 scale UH-1C that a friend of mine kept pushing at me. I didn't want to buy it originally, because I have two other UH1C versions built. When he finally dropped the price to $5.00, I went ahead and bought it. Assembly was a breeze; I was stunned at how well the main canopy fit together to the fuselage! This was a fast and fun kit to build and I'm glad I got it! That's all the aircraft I have finished so far. Hopefully more will get done soon. I need to clear out some boxes! Oh, I also finished up a couple anti-tank guns from ACE as well. Feel free to stop into the Armor Forum and check them out. Thanks all for looking in, comments are welcome.

Is this where we post or pics for this contest? I have three to post. Hobby Boss 1/72 scale UH-1C Huey Hog:

The Duke's 2012 Workbench Updated 9/9/12
Mark Deliduka replied to Mark Deliduka's topic in Photos: On the Bench
Well, here I am a few weeks later and finally have some time to post. A few of the models in the last post I made here have been completed, so feel free to check them out in their respective Forums. Meanwhile, here's the progress I made during the last few weeks. It ain't much due to my heavy workload, but I did manage to get something done. I'll start out with the Opel Bus. I finally have an acceptable enough basecoat on this for me to move on. It ain't perfect, but I'm tired of this thing cluttering my bench. It's been in progress for far too long: You'll notice that the back seems to sag a little; the back glue joint doesn't seem to hold. Drastic measures will have to be taken. Moving right along... Another model that has been giving me fits lately. This is my Russian Armored Train the "Dzerzhinets" by UM Models. I posted some time ago on the Missing Lynx Braille Scale Forums asking how do I weather a train? Well, I got some good answers and this is the result. Engine and tender sans flash: One of the turreted cars sans flash: Another shot of some of the turreted cars with flash: So, all the comments I got confirmed that I weathered this thing just right. Which means I weathered it just right, or the people who know I did it wrong kept silent while the others stroked my ego. :D Anyway, I'm calling that part of it done, and now all I have to do to finish this train is add the quad Maxims to the back of the tender. So, I started the quad Maxims and their mount. This is my progress on that so far. These are the very delicate plastic parts for the main framework of the mount: Next is the Photo-etch mounting plate. I broke this thing twice while trying to do all the folds on it. Then I had a bear of a time adding the little braces: Next I have to bend and cement all the pintle mounts for all four guns, then add the ammo cans. Big fun! Moving on from this model, I also got some small progress done on my Dora Railgun. I finished adding all 288 small hand wheels to the four sides of these main support structures. I also go the connection pieces assembled and some of them installed on the model. Here it is all dry-fit together: Now that this model can no longer fit inside the original box; I had to rig up a carrying box for this main assembly. This is what I came up with: I guess you also noticed parts of my German Panzerzug BP-44 in the background. I pulled that out to try and utilize some of the new weathering techniques I learned from weathering the "Dzerzhinets". I'll post more pics when I'm more satisfied with the results. Well, that's all my progress for now. Hopefully more will come. Remember, comments are welcome. Thanks all for looking in. -
Who's bidding onthe 2014 show?
Mark Deliduka replied to ghodges's topic in About the IPMS/USA National Convention
That's what I said two years ago about the Orlando Nats, especially since it was being held in Disney World. (I've always wanted to stay at the Contemporary Hotel). It was THE Nats to attend, given the once-in-a-lifetime venue location. You see that despite my best efforts to save all I could; I still never made it to Orlando. Given my luck and situation; I'm not confident. I will still try to save for it, but unless I can work a lot more large ($3500.00+) jobs, I don't see it happening. Especially since I'll be taking the train; I'll need to if I'm going to be showing the collection I plan on having completed for that Nats along with all the other models I hope to bring. BTW, to explain what I do, I'm a self employed Handyman/Home Repairman who works only when I get calls. Yes, I advertise. That's what gets me an average of 8 calls a month; about 5 of which turn into jobs. Most of my jobs net me $150-$200 per job. This is the first year (out of four) that my business has brought in more than 4500.00 a year. I just finished a fairly large job and several smaller ones, so once registration opens for the Loveland Nats and the Hotel starts taking reservations; I'm gonna get it now. Be ready people, I gots Big Plans for next year's Nationals! -
Now THIS is interesting to say the least! I love it and can't wait to see more!

Who's bidding onthe 2014 show?
Mark Deliduka replied to ghodges's topic in About the IPMS/USA National Convention
Well, there goes my chance to attend the 50th anniversary of IPMS nationals. I hate having to miss such a great show. -
Man, that beats anything I could do! Awesome work! You have every reason to be proud.

I've never had a problem with any decal becoming noticeably thicker. I also know that this film/coating works well with Solvaset to snuggle into crevices and such. The only issue I've had is when I've used the stuff on old MPC decals that are already as thick as vacuform anyway! Otherwise, applying them to the model on a glosscoat and hitting them with Solvaset (at least) allows them to snuggle down and look painted on.

New theme for August
Mark Deliduka replied to Rusty White's topic in THEME PICS: Turning point of the war.
Oh yeah, I have a ton of things here that I can post! Sweet! -
Micro Scale sells a product called "Liquid Decal Film". It is a clear film you can apply with a paint brush over your decals. Usually one coat will do it, but on older decals where I'm not sure of their quality; I'll add two or three coats just to be sure. Anytime I pick up an older model to build, the first thing I do is apply that decal film to the decals and let it dry overnight just to be sure. Also, any UM decals automatically get a coat as well; they are notorious for shattering, no matter how new they are! Give that stuff a try and you'll most likely never have to deal with shattered decals again. Good luck on the next build.

Who's bidding onthe 2014 show?
Mark Deliduka replied to ghodges's topic in About the IPMS/USA National Convention
I do hope it is in the central US! I really want to go to the 50th anniversary Nats, but if it's all the way on the East Coast, that ain't gonna happen! -
The Duke's 2012 Workbench Updated 9/9/12
Mark Deliduka replied to Mark Deliduka's topic in Photos: On the Bench
LOL! Thanks for the awesome replies guys! This work is all the result of sneaking an hour or so on the bench in between jobs and sleep over the course of the last month! I'm hoping soon to find more time so I can ramp up production. I'm way behind in models completed for the year to date; and I have too many projects that have been sitting on my bench for far too long! Bill, I love the Valiant! Not too crazy about the soft plastic it's been molded with, but it is going together very well. This is my third V-bomber; I've already got the Victor and the Vulcan hanging on my ceiling already. Gill, you'll just have to buckle down and git 'r done! :D
