Spruemeister Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 I might as well play before this theme goes away. Good old Monogram kit, PollyScale paints, Starfighter decals, and 2 pound monofiliment rigging. Rick L.
Mark Deliduka Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 That's a beautiful and very clean build! Way to go!
Ron Bell Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 A good job on a nice kit of a beautiful aircraft.
ghodges Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 B-U-T-FUL build! I plan to build two of those in a month or so to try out some "Wonder Wire" for rigging. I'll be shooting for the crispness you achieved with yours! Inspiring build! Thanks for sharing! GIL
ClareWentzel Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 Very nice. Those Monogram kits were sure some great kits. The only way to easily assemble a biplane.
Spruemeister Posted January 23, 2013 Author Report Posted January 23, 2013 There's so much more that could be done to this kit, I'm going to do another one. Fix the little stuff, add the resin interior, maybe an engine. Learn how to shoot better depth of field photos.... things like that. Rick L.
VonL Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 Nice build! I've always had issues keeping those doubled rigging lines parallel, especially in my favorite bug-scale. Yours look great. How did you set that up?
Spruemeister Posted January 24, 2013 Author Report Posted January 24, 2013 Pretty much just drilled two holes next to each other and eyeballed it. Pre-rigged the upper wing before installing it, then worked one line at a time tightening each with a small pencil type soldering iron instead of the old method of a blown out match head. Only ruined one line. Rick L.
