  1. Okay people, here is a complete showcase of all my current Works in Progress. These are the models I currently am actively working on at this time. It is posted on two posts since the pics limitation won't allow it all to be showcased in one. I'll start with my aircraft, which are one aircraft and three helicopters right now. Gran 1/72 scale Mi-1 Hoplite: Hobby Boss 1/72 scale CH-46 Sea Knight: Italeri 1/72 scale CH-53 Jolly Green Giant: Now for my Armor. All these are also all in 1/72 scale. RPM Staghound Mk II: Dragon SdKfz 251 halftrack with Pak 36: PST KV I tank with bolted on armor: Revell AG M-48 A2C Patton. This will be in German postwar markings: Revell AG M-60 A3 with a Dozer blade: Two Revell AG M-60 A1's with reactive armor. One will be Italian Army, the other US Marines. And finally, my Hobby Boss Br-52 Lokomotive: The next post will show my ships in progress.
  2. Thanks Dennis! I am glad to hear that. I'll start a new Thread soon and yes, it will be about modeling. I'll be showcasing everything that is on my workbench in progress now. It's going to be good. Thanks again for the reply, and you're welcome for the motivation. I hope my new thread will help keep that motivation going.
  3. Well, another day, another couple hours on the bench. I started two new projects because I'd seen one of them finished, and two other people are building a version of the other one and so I got motivated to get started on mine. The first model I got started on was the RPM 1/72 scale Staghound Mk II. Only got the main hull built up. Not too much done but it is started: The fit is a bit rough, but I'll make it work. Meanwhile, I've been watching as two other people are building Dragon's 1/72 scale halftracks. They looked good so I pulled out my halftrack and got started on it. The lower hull is done and half of the interior: I had also started an old PST 1/72 scale KV I 'Ekranami' which basically is a KV I with bolted-on extra armor. Here it is with the upper hull and turret completed along with the lower hull. Now I need to add the roadwheels. Now for the models I've been working on. In addition to sanding some seams on my helicopters, I managed to get some work done on two of my four Pattons. The M-60 A3 with the Dozer Blade is done (except for tracks) and ready for paint. I even built the Dozer attachment for installation later. Oh, and the Dozer blade articulates! Here it is: One of my two M-60's with ERA got all the roadwheels on it except the drive sprockets. I didn't get a chance to get that far on the other one though: Well, that's about all I have for now. Maybe I'll get some more progress done tomorrow, l don't know. I'll keep you all posted. Thanks for looking and comments are welcome.
  4. Ed that sounds great! This does sound interesting to me. I'd like to know what he has first, as I have quite a few PST kits, including one I'm building now. I don't yet know when I'd be able to pay for them though; work has been extremely slow and my wife is facing the possibility of a layoff at one of her two jobs. Keep me posted and I'll see what I can do. Thanks for thinking of me.
  5. Scooter, I'll have to check my parts box. It may take awhile since I've built so many models so give me a day or so. I may find something for you.
  6. This is cool. I'll post something soon. With links.
  7. I like this idea, but I'd like to know. Is this Forum where we can post all our Work in Progress all in one thread instead of spreading them out into the respective Forums? I tend to work on several different genres/classes of models (e.g. aircraft, armor, ships etc) at the same time. I like showing everything in one post when I'm posting info and pics on what I'm building. Of course the finished models would definitely be showcased in their respective Forums. Just a question to be sure before I start another Maddog Manufacturing Thread showing all my projects in progress. Thanks!
  8. Thanks guys for the wonderful comments. Sometimes, I just need to hear it. If does feel good to know my work is appreciated. I got a bit more work done that I'll try to be posting later. Thanks again guys. Once in a while, it really helps to hear this.
  9. Thanks Ralph! Now if I can only keep it together! I broke it again last night and was NOWHERE NEAR IT!! That takes talent! It's fixed now and is out of the way on the shelf.
  10. Well, this was a relatively fast little build. This is ACE's 1/72 scale sIG 33 Infantry gun. This took all of three days to assemble, paint and finish. And I was taking my time! Wow, that was fun. I think I'll build a few more of these ACE guns. I also completed a couple of aircraft which are posted in the Aircraft Forum. Feel free to check them out. Meanwhile, I also started two more armor models. Both were inspired by builds I'd seen on other Forums. This first one is the RPM 1/72 scale Staghound. Not much done on it, but I have to wait a bit before I go on: Next is a build I started because two other people were building these and I just got fired up to join them. This is Dragon's SdKfz 251 halftrack. Mine will have the Pak 36 mounted to it. The roadwheels and forward suspension are on, and the interior is started: Thanks for looking and comments are welcome. Stay tuned, more pics forthcoming....
  11. Well, Maddog Manufacturing has built a couple more aircraft. One is finally finished after having broken six times before it could be done. This is my 1/72 scale Pioneer2 model of the Ho-229 Horten fighter that I finally managed to finish! I did a splinter camo on it. It only came with four Balkankreuzes so that's all I added. There's supposed to be a round aerial on the top of this. It's around somewhere. I'll put it back on when the Carpet Monster coughs it back up again. This next one is the fictitious ride of one Porco Rosso; pilot, bounty hunter, and the only know flying pig from the movie of the same name. This is a Savoia S.21F floatplane. I had a blast building this, and now it is done. There is still a figure of Porco to paint that can be added to the stand. I'll get him done and then add him. Meanwhile, the plane itself is finished: Well, that's about all for now. I also completed another artillery piece for my German Army. Feel free to check it out in the Armor Forums Thanks all for looking, comments are welcome.
  12. Pyrman, that is cool! Can't wait to see it in camo. Also, that is brilliant that you're gonna use the Journal decals for this. That will really look awesome!
  13. Thanks Ralph. I should be able to post something soon. I don't think it'll look as good as yours, but I'll be happy getting it done. Pics forthcoming....
  14. Thanks Ken! I appreciate it. I got ten more projects going; feel free to check out the rest in the Aircraft and Ships forums. Thanks Von. The interior detail came with the Dragon kit. I left a little out of the one with the closed hatch, but since they gave me so much, I felt I had to have one hatch open to show all that great detail! Thanks again for the great comments guys!
  15. Here is my latest progress on my three helicopters. The Hoplite now has the entire canopy closed up. This one is almost ready for final assembly: 3 That Hoplite canopy in three parts was a real BEAR to put together! I am happy with it though. Next I got the final assembly done on my CH-46 Sea Knight. Except for the wheels, rotors, the canopy and some detail parts, this one is ready for paint: Finally, I also got some progress done on my CH-53 Jolly Green Giant. I added some extra parts to this, and later I'll be sanding it down smoother: All these helicopters are almost ready for paint. Hopefully soon I can get started on them. Speaking of paint, the instructions on the Sea Knight say to paint it an overall dark grey. What color is best? Any Marines wanna chime in and let me know? That's all I have for these so far. Thanks all for looking, comments are welcome. For those interested, I also made progress on some ships and an artillery piece. Feel free to check out the Armor and Ships forums to see what else I was working on.
  16. Here is my little ACE sIG 33 Infantry Gun that I started a couple weeks ago. I finished the assembly today and now it is ready for paint. That's about all the progress on my armor so far. I didn't get much done on my four Pattons; just a bit of sanding and that's it. I was working on my helicopters and some ships instead. Feel free to check them out in their respective Forums. Thanks for looking and comments are welcome.
  17. Beautiful Ralph! I'm building a Horten put out by Pioneer2. In fact, I should be finished with it now, but every time I place it for the final clearcoat, it either gets knocked to the floor or something falls on it breaking the landing gear again. I've fixed it FOUR times already! I like the decals on yours. All mine came with were four Balkankruezes, two for the top, two for the bottom. Thanks for posting.
  18. Thanks Dave! I appreciate the compliments. Oh, you might want to check where you type your reply. I had to search for it inside my quote! LOL! ;) :D :D :D
  19. At least I'm calling them done. Anything further I could do would most likely be beyond me. I'm satisfied with these. This first one is my 1/72 scale Roden SdKfz 234 8-Rad armored car. This is in Afrika Korps markings. This is also my Secret Santa gift from last year on the LEM. I know you noticed the wheels in back. The suspension on this little model articulates. When it does, sometimes it gets stuck in the fenders. That's what happened here. It was late at night and I was tired when I took these pics so that is the way these pics will stay for now. I may shoot better ones later. Meanwhile, on to the next model. This is my 1/72 scale Italeri Italian 90mm gun with crew (or 'servants' as it says on the box!) I did a clearcoat on the troops with a brush, then when they were dry, I hit the troops with a dark wash. Then, I dullcoated them. Afterward, I drybrushed the uniforms with a light tan. The troops are still a little wet from the final dullcoat in these pics, but they are done: Again, it was late and I wanted to shoot these models and get them posted for your perusal. Thanks all for looking, comments are welcome.
  20. I know. I need to. Hopefully soon.
  21. Cool! I've never seen the 50's-era War of the Worlds movie. Maybe someday I'll find it to rent or something.
  22. Now that many of the projects I've been working on are finished, here is an update on what's going on at Maddog Manufacturing. I have been working on the Horten a bit more, and now have it at the decal stage. Here is a pic of the Horten where she is now: Next is a couple shots of the 1/72 scale Gran Mi-1 Hoplite that I started about a week ago. This first shows how it was after the first day I started it: Here is the progress I made on it since: Not much I know, but those are the clear parts and there's still another one I have to fit on it. The blue is the interior color. So far it's fitting together pretty well for an Eastern European kit, but the last clear part is gonna have issues. I can tell from the test fitting... Now on to some of the projects I started. I decided I needed to build a few more helicopters. So, I started with one that I got from John's Models in Pensacola when I was there earlier this month. I met a friend and fellow LEMur named Robert and he took me in to the back room of John's where the stash of a recently passed member of his club was being inventoried for sale. I chose a 1/72 scale Hobby Boss Sea Knight since I'd been needing one for my Marines. It had been started by the previous owner who did an outstanding job on the interior painting. All I had to do was finish some of the final assembly of the cockpit (seats) and then close it into the fuselage. Here it is all closed up. You can see where I had some difficulty getting it closed up. Gonna need a little filler underneath, but this is coming together pretty well so far. Next is another model of a 1/72 scale Italeri HH53C helicopter I'm going to do in Vietnam colors. I got the interior finished up here: A blurry view of the cockpit, (my macro doesn't work like it used to!) I then installed all the interior windows to the main fuselage. Here is the interior test-fit inside the fuselage halves: This last project is a Savoia S.21F floatplane. This is in fact a model of a plane from a Japanese animation film called Porco Rosso (Crimson Pig). It's a story set in the between years between WWI and WWII in the Adriatic. It's about a WWI flyer who was the last surviving member of his squadron because he happened to duck into a cloud to escape. Because he feels guilty about surviving, he considers himself a pig and thus had become one. In the movie he's a flying bounty hunter and this is his plane. If you look closely, you'll see him in the cockpit. Here is the 1/72 scale Fine Molds Savoia S.21F: Note: I've seen the movie and even own it. It is a great film that I love to watch. The plane is pretty fantastic too. Well, those are the latest projects I have going on. Thanks for looking and comments are welcome.
  23. It's actually called "Pledge with Future Shine" now. I just picked up a bottle about a month ago. Got it at Wal-Mart for about 8 bucks or so.
  24. . I know! What's up with that? I mean, gee, you'd think this was a modeling society or something..... ;) :D Thanks Gil for the good laugh! Well, to be honest, I dipped them in Future and when they dried, I freehand painted the frames. Once painted to my satisfaction and dry, I took a sharpened Popsicle stick and scraped the paint off the areas where it wasn't supposed to be. Once it looked right, I re-dipped them all in Future to seal them. They were then glued in place using Gator Grip Hobby Glue. Most of this was done even before I put the canopies on the model. So much easier to paint when I'm not maneuvering a whole plane around! Thanks again for the great compliments guys! I appreciate it and -J, I hope that helped a little.
  25. Okay, off to the workbench now.... Thanks for the great comments. If you want to see more, I finished several armor models in the Armor Forum that NOBODY commented on! At least seven or eight. Okay, off to the bench....
