  1. This includes a couple of aircraft as well since there is no separate Forum for works in progress. Take a look. Okay, here's a few things I've been working on. First off, I'll show the seven Halftracks that I've been working on for the Halftrack/AC Group Build that I'm participating in on the LEM. Here are my seven halftracks: Next is a UM Models Su-100 that I've been fighting for awhile. I just cannot eliminate the decal silvering no matter what I do. Oh well. This one is not a well molded model anyway... Then, just for something different, I've also been working on a couple of cheap aircraft. This has been done to keep me from burning out on armor. Here is the old Pioneer 2 F-100 Super Saber. It has got a coat of primer on it to find all the flaws: Next is the Flugzeug Modelbausten Su-7. I primered this one too to find the flaws on this one. I'm actually building two of them since I have them. This is the pic of the one currently in primer: That's what I've been working on so far. Thanks guys. Comments are welcome.
  2. You got that Spectre? My old man was Spectre with 115 combat missions over Laos. He even gave a presentation on the AC-130 gunship and his experiences in the 'Nam at the 2007 Nationals. I'd love to see your Spectre drawing.
  3. Looks great! I have this beast hanging on my ceiling. Or rather, did, until the hook pulled out and sent it crashing down. Only broke one landing gear and the rear cannon. I didn't look at the instruction when I installed the engine pylons but still got them in the correct place. Yours will be looking good. I'm looking forward to more pics.
  4. Yeah, I would have never gotten that one either. I remember reading the book three or four times but I never saw the movie. The list above is gonna be my next rental shopping list. I gotta see some of these movies!
  5. Man, I've always hated Smurfs! :P ;) I'm stumped. I had a few ideas, but they were guessed. Hopefully someone else will come up with something.
  6. Thanks guys! I appreciate your responses. Yeah Kev, I always build my aircraft and armor in the scale of gentlemen! Check out the Armor Forum for my latest armor models finished.
  7. Thanks guys! Yeah, I've always wanted to build Ritchie's bird, now I have it. Ikar thanks for the pics, they are awesome! As for the drone kill, maybe the pilot was asleep and thus flying like a drone! LOL! Thanks again guys!
  8. I finally got it done: Hasegawa's 1/72 scale F-4 Phantom. Check it out: Thanks for looking, comments are welcome.
  9. Yeah, I have very fond memories of Space 1999. Back then I was ten, and not allowed to stay up past 8:30 at night. Except on Fridays when Space 1999 was on. My mom would let me stay up to watch it (it started at 10:00 PM) and she and I would enjoy it together. Good times.
  10. Sweet! Here are my favs, all have been mentioned before. 1) Firefly 2) Babylon 5 3) Space 1999 And my Honorable Mention, for the cool ships in them: Buck Rogers back in the seventies. Loved the ships, and the space battles. HATED that stupid Twiki robot!!
  11. Yes! Two more models off the bench and on the shelves! This time, I managed to finish the Italeri 1/72 scale CH 34 Choctaw for my US Marine Corps. It is not as good as I'd have liked it to be, but I am satisfied that it is finally finished. Here she is ready for delivery to my Marines: There are several issues with this one, but they would take too much time and effort to fix, far more than is justified for the results. I'm happy to be placing it on the shelf now. My second model is the old Heller De Havilland Vampire F.B.5. I already built one of these as the Mistral in French service, so it only seemed right to make a British one as well. Here it is, ready for delivery to my British Air Force; my 1/72 scale Heller De Havilland Vampire: That completes another set for now. I'll post more when I have more finished. If you haven't yet seen them, check out my finished Armor in the Armor Forums. Thanks all for looking, comments are welcome.
  12. Good idea. I may have to try that too. Yeah, I have a couple 'cats that need alot more food too. I'd love to do a complete series of 'cat food'.
  13. Thanks Papasmurf! Glad you like it. I am also pleased at the exhaust!
  14. Thanks guys! I appreciate the comments. Yeah Gil, somehow the British always seemed to get multi-winged planes right, while really messing up the looks of their multi-engined planes. thanks for the great comment. Thanks Von! I used flat black on it first, then afterward I applied a coat of Humbrol Ancient Brass (Humbrol 171 Metallic) over it. Then I gave it a wash of black, and when it was dry, I applied a light drybrush of silver. I like how it turned out. Thanks again everyone for the great replies.
  15. Sweet! I've always wanted to get a Libyan MiG 23 myself. Getting the kit ain't hard, it's the decals that are hard to find! Thanks for the tip on the backgrounds. I may have to try something like that.
  16. Thanks guys! I'm glad you like it. James, I just felt this plane needed it's aircrew. I agree it does add to the model. Sounds good Paul, I'll keep an eye on it. Dave, I enjoyed this one too. And I myself am still afraid of rigging! Thanks again guys!
  17. Those are awesome Von! Man, I wish I could get good backgrounds like that for my pics!
  18. Yep! This is my latest model completed. This is the ancient blister-packed kit of Airfix's British Hawker Demon biplane. I finally got it rigged today so I'm calling this one done. It is painted in Citadel Chainmail on the fuselage, and the doped wings were painted with Pollyscale Flat Aluminum. I rigged it with some very fine vinyl thread given me by one of my fellow IPMS Orange County members. I didn't weather it and I also used the original kit decals. They went on amazingly well without any tearing, thanks to the coat of Micro-Scale Liquid Decal Film I applied to them the previous day. Still, I need to put this in a window so the sun will bleach them out a bit more. Here are the pics. Thanks all for looking, comments are welcome.

I second the motion, all in favor say "Aye".
  20. That's it! Time to pull out my copy of Wrath of Khan and watch it again! This is too much! I love this Thread and I hope it keeps going!
  21. You are very welcome! I'm looking forward to seeing this one done.
  22. Yeah, I agree, "Wrath of Khan" is the best of the ST movies I htink, followed by "The Voyage Home". Here's one vote for best Sci-Fi movie: "Serenity" Then again, I loved the TV series that spawned it. Okay, back to the bottle.......er, ummm workbench!
  23. Thanks Papasmurf! Glad you like them. Yeah, that Foxhound is one of my favorites. Von_L, I have the same kits.....somewhere! I've been wanting to build them myself. If you want more of the better tires and they won't send them, see if you know anyone that can cast them in resin for you. That is what I did with one of my other kits. It also helped getting replacements for missing parts as well. Good luck Von_L, I hope to find my kits soon so I can get these built as well.
