  1. That is fantastic Tim! Way to go! One suggestion: When I built my Academy Ambulance I realized from watching M*A*S*H that the roof of this vehicle has no seam. Fortunately its an easy fix. I love your ambulance Tim, you did outstanding! Keep posting more of your work!
  2. Thanks Tim!
  3. Well, despite all the running around I've done today, I still managed to get some progress on the last few models I've been working on Two of these are at the decal stage. Tomorrow, if I can, I'll clearcoat these two and decal them. One of these models ready for decals is my M-113 which is shown in the Armor Forum. My other model that is ready for decals is my Ju-52. Here she is: Now for my progress on my F-5B. This one has finally got the decals in the cockpit, making it look a bit better: They even included seatbelts! Now I have the cockpit fully enclosed in the forward fuselage, and then I attached the forward fuselage to the rear fuselage. All I have to do is clean up the seams and she's ready for her coat of silver: Well, that is all I have for now. The next pics of the M-113 and the Ju-52 will be finished pics in their respective Forums. That should be on Friday if all goes well. Thanks all for looking and comments are welcome!
  4. Well, despite all the running around I've done today, I still managed to get some progress on the last few models I've been working on. Two of these are at the decal stage. Tomorrow, if I can, I'll clearcoat these two and decal them. The first one is my M-113 APC. The other one is an aircraft and I profiled myn progress on it in the Aircraft Forum. On the M-113, the tracks were a pain in the nether regions due to the fact that Trumpeter says to 'flare' the pin down to hold the ends together. Yet they molded these tracks so that they are impossible to even put together to flare. So, I punted.... The tracks are on and the skirts are hiding where I glued them to the hull overhang. Now all I have to do is clean up the paint a bit. Here it is: Well, that is all I have for now. The next pics of this M-113 will be finished pics in these Forums. Thanks all for looking and comments are welcome!
  5. I know the feeling. I have made alot more progress on my M113, Ju52 and F5B already. The first two are already at the decal stage. After all these, I still have an F4, four ships, and a Morser Karl 54cm gun to finish as well. Man what a year this is going to be!
  6. LOL! Now what did I say about giving away all my secrets? Geez! <_< Mark, thanks for the compliment. I think I'll be taking a break now for awhile, but only after I've finished my Ju-52....... and the M113....... and the F-5B....... Oh geez! I'll never get a break!
  7. Sorry for being late in posting these. I've been so busy lately and so now I'm finally getting the time to post them. My 1/72 scale Academy M-32 Halftrack: And a shot of the interior: Next is my other 1/72 scale Revell Humvee. This is the M996 Humvee TOW carrier: This one is my 1/72 scale Dragon M1045 Humvee TOW Carrier. Here it is with the TOW launcher on the tripod: And a shot of it with the TOW launcher mounted on the roof: My final one is the other 1/72 scale Dragon Humvee, the M1046 Humvee TOW carrier with ASK armor: And just for kicks, here are all three of my TOW carrying Humvees all together: Okay, it's a bit late so I'm heading to bed. Thanks all for looking, and comments are welcome.
  8. Looking excellent Von! I don't remember having that much issue with the wings when I built mine. This should really look great though when you're done 'brutalizing' it! Cool idea the way you added the dialectic panels on the tail too. Way to go.
  9. Thanks guys for the great comments! Von, I also spend too much time on my Forums, but because I can't work on rainy days, there's my extra time. Dave, I already have a WWI and WWII/Korea ambulances finished already. I finished them about two years ago. This is the little Model T Ambulance made by RPM: This is my Academy WC-51 Ambulance for WWII/Korea: Now when I finish the M-113 battle ambulance I'll have one for Vietnam. Tacoma, SSHHHHH!!! You'll let out my secret!! Ah well, too late! Thanks for the great compliments. I really appreciate it.
  10. Yeah Tim, I agree! Braille is the only TRUE scale! LOLOL!! Thanks for posting Tim, I hope to see some of your work too.
  11. Thanks Dave and Ed. Dave, I'm pleased with the ambulance as well. I can't wait to do my M-113 Ambulance so I can complete my display of the "Evolution of the Battlefield Ambulance". Ed thanks for the incredible compliment. Sometimes when I see no replies on some of my posts, I actually feel that nobody likes what I posted and they're showing it by not posting replies. Then I come to my senses and realize that most people don't always check every Forum, much less read everything posted on them. That is if they even come to these Forums every day. Anyway, I'm very glad to see yours and Dave's posts here. Your comments are very appreciated and go a long way to keeping me building. Now to go and finish two more.....
  12. Thanks Von. I still am pretty upset that someone would do that. Oh well, I'll get all these replaced soon. Thanks for the compliment. The F--5 should go fast.
  13. Once again, I was able to marathon some building during another rainy day. Because of that, I was able to finish my three Shermans I'd been working on. I also picked up another set of Revell AG Humvees so I could use the decals and finish off at least one of these Humvees. Without further ado, I give you my latest Armor completed today. This first one is Dragon's 1/72 scale M4 Sherman with the wading stacks. It seems to have gotten a bit dirty while coming ashore: Next up is my Dragon 1/72 scale Sherman Firefly Ic: And my final Sherman is the Dragon 1/72 scale M4A4 made up in British markings this time: And just for fun, here are all three of my latest Shermans all together: I also managed to finish my Revell of Germany M-997 Maxi Ambulance. Here she is: There they are. My latest completed armor for this year now delivered to my armed forces. Thanks for looking, comments are welcome.
  14. Thanks Tim! Actually I do sleep. Since I'm in construction, I get my full eight hours a night. I have to in order to keep my power tools from eating any fingers. Thanks for the comment too. I was beginning to think nobody was interested in my small scale armor.
  15. Gee, I must be moving so fast nobody has a chance to reply! Even my finished ones apparently went up so fast that nobody saw them fast enough to comment! Anyway, for those still following this, here is my latest progress on my armor projects. I finally managed to get my Academy halftrack body assembled. While it was drying, I also painted the tracks on the chassis, and added the front wheels. Here it is with the top dry fit to the chassis: I also went back to the M-113 and basecoated it and then painted the wheels: I'll get another basecoat on it later to smooth out the color. Meanwhile as that dried, I got some more progress done on my two Dragon Humvees. The Revell of Germany ones have come to a screeching halt until I can recover/replace the decals. On these Dragon Humvees, the clear tops seem to be slightly warped as it took this much clamping and holding to get it to sit right on the lower body: That one was the TOW carrier without the ASK armor on it. That one has the hatch open to show off all the cargo in back. This other one is the TOW carrier with ASK armor. This one is now fully assembled and ready for the camo pattern on it: Yes, I did adjust the crooked panel. It's straight now. Well, that's all the progress I have for today. Man, I love rainy days!! Thanks all for looking, comments are welcome. And I mean that people! Speak up! I can't hear you!
  16. Rainy days sure are great for model building! Today was another one and so I got some more progress done on a few of the projects I'm working on. I wanted to try and clearcoat my three Shermans I'm building to prepare for decals but they needed another coat of OD to fill some weak areas and missed spots. Hopefully tomorrow. So, I went to work on the rest of my projects, trying to get some of them closer to completion. I also felt the siren call of another model which I decided to start as well. Well the new one I started was the Italeri F-5B Freedom Fighter in 1/72 scale. It is a replacement of the one that was stolen out of the display case at USC's Air Force ROTC building along with my F-117 Stealth Fighter, a helicopter and my B-2 Stealth bomber. I started by assembling the cockpit which will be painted and decaled later: Then, since the rear fuselage and wings were so easy to assemble, I completed them: Once the cockpit is complete, all I have to do is close it into the forward fuselage and then put the two together. After that it's real simple to add the landing gear and gear doors, and any ordinance I want and she'll be ready for paint. Moving along, I also got some more progress completed on my Ju-52. All the wheels, engines and propellers are on it now. All that is left are the canopy and the final fiddly bits. Then she'll be painted: And that's it for my aircraft.....so far. Feel free to check out my progress on my armor in the Armor Forums. Thanks for looking and comments are welcome.
  17. As promised, it's after dinner and I got some more progress made. Things are looking up. Here is a shot of all my three Shermans in their final OD basecoat. I'm going to wait a day or so to let them dry well and then I'll clearcoat them, decal them and finish them off. While I was waiting for these to dry, I worked some more on my Ju-52. I know this doesn't belong here in the Armor Forum, butit is just one pic, and I am working on both armor and aircraft. Anyway, the fuselage is all closed up, the wing flaps are on it, and she's standing on her pegs so far: Further progress on this Ju-52 will be posted in the Aircraft Forum. And finally, here is a little thing I decided to go back to and get finished up. It's been sitting on my bench for more than a year, and I'm ready to get this off the bench and onto the shelf. Here is my Trumpeter M-113 A1 almost ready for the basecoat. I also left the engine panel loose so that the engine could be peeked at. . Well, that's all for today. Time to hit the sack. Thanks to all who look and all comments are welcome.
  18. And here it is! This is Italeri's 1/72 scale ABM 42 with the anti-tank gun. I built this completely out of box and free handed the camo pattern and she's been dusted with Tank Rat's weathering powders. She has now been delivered to my Italian Forces. I'll try to get more pics later. Camera's batteries died! Thanks for looking and comments are welcome.
  19. Oh man, how I love a rainy day!! Yeah, there's nothing like sitting in the hobby room listening to the rain come down as I'm building away! I've got quite a bit of progress to show, and I may even have more to post after dinner so stay tuned. Okay, I'll start with my Italian ABM 42. As I was finishing this one up, the main post on the anti tank gun broke. That really fried my eggs! Anyway, I pulled out a piece of brass rod, trimmed it to size, and then proceeded to attach it to the bottom of the gun carriage with CA glue. I then drilled out the broken post inside the gun support and then I took a pin vise and deepened the hole a bit. I fit the gun into the main support, and voila! Gun is fixed! Here's the gun with the brass rod attached ready to go into the post: Now that this little Italian car is finished, feel free to check it out in another post in this Armor Forum. Thanks! Meanwhile, as I was working on the Dragon Normandy Sherman with wading stacks, I realized again why I started with it in the first place when I resumed construction. There is so much that keeps going wrong with this one. To start with, I tried to put the tracks on the fully painted lower hull and the idler wheel fell off--- both sides! So, back to my trusty pin vise and brass rod. Once again, I drilled holes in the respective pieces: Here is the idler wheel sporting it's new 'axle', as indicated by the arrow: And finally, after being fastened into place with CA glue, this puppy is now sitting pretty in it's own tracks! Of course I had to do the same thing on the other side but those idler wheels aren't going anywhere! Fortunately, I didn't need to do that with the other two Shermans I'm building. However, after this I decided to try some test-fitting of the rear wading stack. Uh oh. I shoulda known; it just ain't allowed to be easy! Dragon, I'm highly disappointed in you. Here is what I found. The rear wading stack is too wide at the hull attachment point for the two air filter thingies to stay on. The arrows indicate where the overlap is: My solution: I removed the air filer thingies. They can't be seen anyway when the wading stack is on. I didn't know what else to do; if I'd tried to adjust the opening of the wading stack I would've destroyed it. Oh well, onward and upward... I added the upper/forward wading stack to the upper hull of the Sherman but not before painting the interiors of these stacks with OD. Now it is ready for it's base coat of OD. After dealing with that, I added the P/E to the other two Shermans. Here they are: M4A4: Top view to see the screen behind the turret (well, some of it! ): And the Firefly Ic: And for fun, here are all three Shermans ready for their basecoat of OD on their upper hulls: Well that's about all I have so far. I may have more to post tonight or tomorrow. Stay tuned and remember to check out my Italian desert car. Thanks for looking, comments are welcome! That includes for the Stryker and the ABM 42 as well!!
  20. Thanks Ed! I'm finding myself actually adding aircrew and pilots to all these planes now. I started an old MPC Ju-52 recently and put in the full crew for that too. It's tiresome sometimes having to keep switching paints to do yet another detail, but I agree. It does give character to the model. Thanks again for posting.
  21. Well, I was hoping to be posting more than one model here, but due to some setbacks, I have only one to post. Still, it is finished and I'm very pleased with the way this model turned out. This is the Academy 1/72 scale M-1126 Stryker that was given to me by my friend Dave O'Barr as a Christmas present. Here she is all complete: Thanks all for looking and comments are welcome.
  22. Thanks guys! I appreciate it. Your comments are very welcome. Gil, I think you're right. It pretty well felt like an Airfix kit. Not as much flash or short-shot pieces. Jeff, I agree. I love building Airfix kits.
  23. Thanks for the comments guys, I'm glad you like it. '51, I love reliving my youth with these old models. Glenn, this model kit was issued in the '70's. Quite old but it went together like a dream. It does have the raised panel lines so typical of 70's-era kits. Thanks again guys!
  24. Here you go everyone. Here's my last model finished in January. This is MPC's 1/72 scale F-86D Sabre Dog. I built it Out of Box and painted it it Alclad Aluminum. The tail numbers on the decal sheet broke up so I stole some numbers from another plane. Now I've got her done and on the shelf. On to the pics.... That's all so far everyone. I'll let you know when I get more done. Thanks for looking and comments are welcome.
