Okay, I've had a great week this past week with plenty of time to work on my models; especially at Hobby Day. This is going to be a bit of a lengthy update, so keep all arms and legs inside the tram while it's moving and enjoy the tour! Let's go to the Maddog Manufacturing's Hanger first. I'll start with a model that has been sitting for awhile. This was supposed to be a simple build, but I misjudged this Eduard kit. This is the 1/72 scale L-39 that I've been working on and I just couldn't seem to get past the cockpit! Now I am, as you can see in this pic: I'd forgotten to get a picture of it before I closed it up inside the fuselage; I was just so happy to have the cockpit done! Here is the fuselage all closed up finally: I've already tried test-fitting the main wings; this is gonna give me problems. Next I decided to try and practice some bare metal finish some more. So, I pulled out this 1/72 scale Hasegawa F-86 in Japanese markings that I found in the stash. It's a simple enough kit that I hope to complete quickly so I can try again to do a good bare metal finish on it. Here is the cockpit and the main wing all assembled so far: Next I painted the cockpit and then applied the decals: Now that is all set aside to dry. The next aircraft I started was a 1/72 scale Hasegawa F-4 Phantom II in Iranian markings that I got at the IPMS Nationals in Colorado. This is being done for an Out of Box Group Build on another Forums. Naturally, I started with the cockpit, and also glued the four pieces together for the nose cone: I then painted and decaled the cockpit of this model: Next I assembled the rear fuselage of this plane: Later on I'll get the cockpit closed up in the forward fuselage and put the forward and rear fuselage assemblies together. That's all for my aircraft so far. Now lets head to the armor assembly line in the next post...

I can do this. I have an Airfix model of a British Harrier Jet. A British jet from a British company should fit this bill nicely.

I'm sorry to resurrect this thread, but my Dora has done it again! Here's another one for the Trophy Case. I returned from the Pasadena Valleycon yesterday after entering Dora and five other models in the contest there. I entered her in "1/72 Scale Armor All Types" since she's a 1/72 scale model. Dora took First Place in that category at the Valleycon: Notice how I included someone else's car and truck for a size reference in this pic. That win felt good, especially since this contest was held the day after my birthday! Happy Birthday to me! :D Thanks all for looking in!

It's already March and we haven't got anything. Shall we continue the ACE's theme since only a couple people have posted and I haven't yet and February was a short month? Or is there something else in mind? Thanks. I do appreciate the work that is being put into this Theme Forum. It is unique and fun and I hope it can continue.

I saw these at Colorado. Brandon's son is a member of my St. Crispin's Irregulars group too. They really did well on those cage masks.

I like this Thread; we should "Sticky" it. One book I would love to get ahold of again is called "I Took the Sky Road", written by a PB4Y/B-24 patrol bomber pilot about his experiences in the Pacific. I don't remember the author's name, but it was some incredible reading there. I'm gonna make a list of the rest of these and see if I can get them.

This is good to know. I never met him, but I am thrilled with the organization he founded. I have enjoyed the company of so many friends from all over through this organization and I offer my condolences to his family. May God welcome him into His Kingdom and may he rest in peace.

Gil, Chris, you guys are really coming along well. I do like the wood color on the aircraft; I've used that technique myself for wood on some of my models. Way to go guys, these are looking good. I'm hoping to have more done on my last two projects for the Group Build today.

Okay people, I apologize for flooding the boards here, but I managed to get a couple more done. This first one, Number 647 in my Completed Ground Vehicles collection is my Emhar 1/72 scale British Mark IV Male "Flypaper" that I built for the WWI Group Build here on these IPMS USA Forums. This little beastie got a wash first; then I splattered it with a dark brown color; then added some lighter powder to the top of that. You can see those pics of that work in the WWI Group Build Thread. Here it is after a spin through Cambrai: Some top shots: The next one, Number 648 in my Completed Ground Vehicles collection is the Hobby Boss 1/72 scale German Br-86 Dampflokomotive. I didn't weather this one quite yet since I didn't know how to do it and I don't want to ruin it when I've come so far. So, here it is finally, I'm declaring this one completed: Okay, that's all I got done so far. I'm starting another job tomorrow so I don't foresee much bench time for a couple weeks. Nice work John! That gun is looking good; especially considering the difficulty you're having. Keep pluggin' man! That;s a great idea adding the loading dock. That thing is cool! Good luck on the move and I hope you find a house soon. Don't forget to stop in occasionally between packing up so we don't forget you! LOL! Now for my latest progress on one of my models for this Group Build. First, I gave this little beastie a dark wash: Next up, I wet down some weathering powders and splattered them on this little guy: After all this dried, I took a lighter powder and brushed it all over this little guy to finish it up. Thanks Chris! I managed to get a set of instructions from someone for the StuH 42 so I may be able to start that up again soon; once I get my printer running again. Meanwhile, I also found a Dragon StuG IV Late version that I'll also be starting up as well. Stay tuned for more.

Here's my small update for this Group Build. To start out with, I painted the Mack Truck. After painting it, I found out how many more pieces I have to add to it! Next I also painted the Mark IV Male tank I'm doing for this Group Build as well: Later I clearcoated this Mark IV and then added the decals. Meet "Flypaper": Now it's time to dullcoat this and weather it up.
