Came out well. One has to wonder why Tamiya did this in 1/50th

I use Mr. Surfacer 1000 thinned 50/50 with lacquer thinner. Then I polish it with micro mesh pads before Alclad. The Alclad requires some practice to get right. Light coats first and then a heavier final layer.

1/144th scale B-29 from Fujimi. Harder to find but a much better B-29 the than old Crown kit. Alclad II finish. Kit decals for Dauntless Dotty, the Pacific Pioneer. Revell 1/24th scale Austin Healey 100-6. Not a bad kit considering its age. Needs better wheels but I didn't have any handy. Worked on these in the 1960's and it was really fun to try to get anything done through that small hood (bonnet). More here: http://www.percongrp...s/ah3000_ms.htm

Great job. I picked up one of the new Tamiya Zeros at Hobby Lobby a few weeks back. May have to start on it after your inspiration.

Just the usual yellow undercoat with oil brushed until it looked right. Future overcoat.
