  1. Came out well. One has to wonder why Tamiya did this in 1/50th
  2. I use Mr. Surfacer 1000 thinned 50/50 with lacquer thinner. Then I polish it with micro mesh pads before Alclad. The Alclad requires some practice to get right. Light coats first and then a heavier final layer.
  3. Northrup F-89D Scorpion. Revell kit in 1/48th. Alclad & Kit decals. More here: http://www.percongrp...aft/f89d_ms.htm
  4. Looks damn good from 250 miles away down here in Clearwater!
  5. And I can't usually find the time to take even 6 WIP pics!! Very impressive.
  6. What is a real kick is the look on the poor girl at Home Depots face when Gil tries to get his latex paint matched to FS #'s...
  7. Might have sumthin' ta do with using that Wagner power painter you picked up at the flea market.....

Minicraft DC-3. Kit decals. Alclad II NMF. More here: http://www.percongrp.../dc3_144_ms.htm
  10. 1/144th scale B-29 from Fujimi. Harder to find but a much better B-29 the than old Crown kit. Alclad II finish. Kit decals for Dauntless Dotty, the Pacific Pioneer. Interestingly this plane was flown by Robert Morgan who was also the pilot of the Memphis Belle. First B-29 to land at Saipan in 1944. More here: http://www.percongrp.../b29_144_MS.htm
  11. Kit decals
  12. Latest Tamiya Zero. Goes together perfectly. More here: http://www.percongrp.com/pelikan/aircraft/a6m5_ms.htm
  13. Revell 1/24th scale Austin Healey 100-6. Not a bad kit considering its age. Needs better wheels but I didn't have any handy. Worked on these in the 1960's and it was really fun to try to get anything done through that small hood (bonnet). More here: http://www.percongrp...s/ah3000_ms.htm

Obviously the paper mill smell in Jax has gotten to you! P-3's are certainly not ugly tubs. Michael

ARII 1/144th scale kit from the 80's. Decals are from Starfighter decals. I really enjoy these 1/144th scale kits, just wish there were more aftermarket decals available. More here: http://www.percongrp...raft/p3c_ms.htm
  24. Great job. I picked up one of the new Tamiya Zeros at Hobby Lobby a few weeks back. May have to start on it after your inspiration.
  25. Just the usual yellow undercoat with oil brushed until it looked right. Future overcoat.
