I just finished this one today! This is the 1/48 Wings vacuform kit of the first Vought Corsair, the O2U-1.

Excellent work and nice scarff ring.

Brilliant work Gil!! Man, I never would have known that was Vac Formed! I also learned something as I'd never seen the first Corsair.

Might be fun to paint up an F4U and A-7 similarly and display them side by side. That's the sort of silly thing I'd do. I once did an F-4 collection. F4B biplane, F4F Wildcat, F4U Corsair, F4D Skyray and F4 Phantom.

Just.....wow.  You've given us yet another example of scale modeling at its' very finest. I have a 1/48 Wings vac-formed kit of the Douglas BT-1, but haven't worked up the courage to tackle it yet.

That's one of their better kits Drew! I've built 2 of them over the years. If you have an old Monogram Devastator or Dauntless you can rob it for a lot of the interior parts to save time.

It's still the only way to get a 1/48 BT-1 into your collection. Thanks for the very kind words!

Like Mark, I've never even heard of this aircraft before and I've also never built a vacu-form kit. Your take on this bird is most certainly a good one and I'm sure it looks just great sitting in your display area.
