Nothing special, but I reworked an old build (from when I got back in to the hobby) over a Friday night/Saturday this weekend. It used to be yellow with a black hood. It took a dip in the purple pond and I repainted it white and put the factory rims back on it. BEFORE NOW

All done. A fast project to get me back in the swing of things after a 4 month hiatus. The decals weren't bad. The problem children were the red strips on the front spoiler, the mirrors, and around the rear fin ducts. CoolBoss

It's not the best build I've ever done, but a great little project to get back in to the swing of things after 4 months off. The decals are Tamiya and I suspect they won't be the Cartograph quality I've become accustomed to. It's going to be a shelf model anyway, so if there's a blemish or three it won't be a big deal. LOL Thanks for following along.

Well, here's what last night and tonight yielded. I've still got quite a bit of painting and washes to apply, but it's a start.

Yup. Paint the body first. I've ALWAYS - even in my youth - assembled the wheels first and/or painted the body. Essentially it's inspiration to complete everything. As for preference of liquid mask, I like the stuff I bought at the LHS a couple years ago - "Liquid Masking Film" distributed by Bob Dively Model Aircraft Inc. It takes a while to dry, but works flawlessly in my experience.

After a couple hours tonight, the body got sanded, primed, and a single coat of paint left in the can. Now I have to wait for the other two can's to arrive at my LHS. I also liquid masked the wheels and shot the gold spokes. Oh, I also managed to snap the front grille sections while cleaning it for primer. <_< It just feels really good to have my work bench up and running again and a paint booth vented to the out doors so I can paint inside with out having windows open etc.

Nope. Just box stock and ready to rock. I'm a sadist in that I love decaling for some reason. I've got a Skyline GTR racer that I have the aftermarket goodies for. The Porsche just spoke to me this time.

After a 4 month hiatus from building, my basement is now complete and I can start building once again! (insert BIG happy dance here!) Here's my latest project -

Yes, the same question, but always fun to answer. For me it's a hobby that I've always loved and come back to. As a kid, I built a lot of airplanes, and one aircraft carrier, and a few cars that were glue bombs to match the rest. LOL After returning to the hobby 6 years ago, I'm loving it more and more each build. I build 99% automotive subjects. I've built one 1/12 moto gp bike, and a couple dioramas along with a sci-fi subject now and again. The best part of building for me is the stress relief it gives me after a bad day. It really takes my focus off of the bad things and puts it into a constructive medium/effort. My wife calls it "decompressing".

Thank you for the compliment. I haven't touched this project in a month. Time's been minimal lately. I'm waiting for Halloween stuff to start showing up in the stores to make a diorama with him.

Oh yeah, I recently bought the Pegasus War of the Worlds space craft kit. As a kid, the 50's WOTW movie and the old black & white movie "THEM!" were, and still are favorites! I'm 33, but I like the vintage sci-fi stuff, as well as the classic Star Wars and Aliens stuff. I also got The Invisible Man reissue from Moebius. Love the book and thought it'd be a good companion to it.

My friend actually pointed that exact kit out to me before it was released saying "This is you!" It's one of those in the back of my mind when I decide to get it. May issue??? Where? Or do you mean the online gallery?

I've wanted greatly to participate in this event since I found out about it. Next time for sure I will be in on it. I'm in the process of finishing my basement and will have a purpose-built modeling room to participate with paint booth and everything!

I'm completely jacked up about them! I just returned to modeling 6 years ago, and these were around before I was born. LOL It's a chance for me to build some vintage modeling history!

I tend to gravitate to the small Warhammer 40k stuff when I need a break from building autos. I also like the Aliens power loader, but to do all of the corrections on the kit, I need more skills.

I've spent a while painting the jacket and finishing up the pants, & starting on the bone structure. Sorry for the bad pics, but everything's packed up with the construction on my house going on. I've still got quite a bit left to do - the hat, boots, red shirt, bag, and bones.
