1. Looks Great, Dave! Really like your decal stand too...I'm gonna have to come up with something like that for myself. Later, Lee
2.

Thanks, Don! I'll be seeing you then for sure. Later, Lee
3. Oh, I am quite sure that the UPC kit will be a bit of a challenge. I think that had I not added the flaps and such that it would have gone a bit smoother. Still, the canopies and windows had some iffy fit quality compared to what I am used to from Tamiya. I think I just lost my interest/inspiration to complete it for so long that I saw it as a chore to wrap up. I am glad that I did though. Thanks for the compliment and post up a pic or two of your Dinah...I'd love to see it! Later, Lee
4. Very nice work! Thanks for sharing and I am glad to hear you are back to building. Later, Lee
5. Thanks Tim! Nice to be back. Looks like things have improved since I was last around in '99. Later, Lee
6. Looks terrifc, Patti! You have a good eye for getting skin tones right-on. That's my weakest link in trying to paint figures...and the eyes (of course). Thanks for posting and sharing! later, Lee
7. Thanks for the kudos, Gil! I agree that most of the Otaki kits can stuill build up nicely and look the part (the Zero and P-51D are the iffy pair IMHO). Plus it was neat to build the two '109s side by side and see the differences both in molding quality and parts layout. Later, Lee
8. So does that mean that the couch is not spoken for yet???? I'll see what I can do to get up there. Been to the Detroit Auto Show in '06 and '07 before we moved and it's not a bad drive. Gqas and lodging is the biggie for me to try and cover on a long trip. Later, Lee
9. Glad to have ya back, John! I just recently returned to active IPMS status after an 11 year hiatus. Post up some pics of your work when you have a chance! Later, Lee
10. Thanks, sir! It's been alot of fun for sure. The instruments are Mike Grant decals and the engine serial number is dry-transfers. Later, Lee
11. Nice work, Dave! I have this kit in storage and will be paying close attention to your build for sure. Bummer on the wing root fit but it looks like you got it under control! later, Lee
12. Thanks guys! I'm a bit OCD and just keep my area as clean as possible...I'll post up a few new pics as I got some nifty wooden paint racks that stack up nicely right next to my 'bench. The white caddy is actually an old toothbrush/soapdish that I score for a quarter at a garage sale. It's great for keeping my scissors, two X-Acto knives and a small set of tweezers in. The dish part just holds bits and pieces for current projects. later, Lee
13. Thank you! We are moving back to Kentucky in July and I'll be at the Cinciy show in September and the Columbus show in February for sure. I'll see ya there! later, Lee
14. Absolutely beautiful work! Job well done for sure, sir! Later, Lee
15. And here's a few more... Lee
16. So, long story short this build is for the MB group build over on Modeling Madness. I decided to go a bit nuts. I have added some of the old Verlinden detail set (for the Hasegawa kit) to the cockpit, used the leftover Eduard injection-molded instrument panel and scratch-built some of the remaining details including the gunsight and opening up the rear stowage hatch. Also figured I would open up the radio hatch and scratch-built all of the details there. The engine has been plumbed and wired somewhat and I am using the Eduard cowling guns and made muzzle covers out of brass. Why???? Well, because it just seemed like a fun thing to do. Critiques and comments most welcome. Lee
17. Adn to wrap things up we have the 1/48 Tamiya Ki-46 Dinah with the Eduard PE set. This was a real pain of a build...took me nearly 12 years! I would work on it a bit and then just get so disgusted with it...swore me off from ever wanting to build a 2nd kit and I really like the Dinah! So, I have an old UPC 1/50 scale Dinah that I will build and hopefully it will be a much more pleasant experience. Lee
18. This is a pair of Bf 109G-6s. White 3 is the Fujimi kit (of which I am a BIG fan) with the older Eduard PE set which I highly recommend for these kits. I knocked the inner flaps off while taking these pics...I'm such a klutz! Decals are kit-supplied. White 9 is the old Otaki kit with leftover Fujimi decals and Hasegawa stencils. Lee
19. Here we have Eduard's Fw 190A-8/R2 'Profi-pack" kit. I added engine details, cut the cowlings and added details there as well. The rest is all Eduard. I really like these kits but they are particular to assemble...and it was not easy. Lee
20. Thirdly we have the Pro Modeler Fw 190D-11. Straight OOB. I always wanted to build all of the Jv44 'Doras' and I figured now is as good a time as any to start! Lee
21. Next up is the much maligned (and rightfully so) Italeri Reggiane RE 2002. OOB and boy was it some work. The entire nose, cowling and bomb rack are molded askew and there is no real way to fix it IMHO. So, I just dealt with it. I feel very, very sorry for anyone who paid list for this...thankfully I got mine on the cheap. Lee
22. Okay, here we have the old Monogram SBD Dauntless. I used leftover Hasegawa decals and the Hasegawa spinner for the prop. The dive flaps were drilled out and the bomb release trigger hole filled in. Lee
23. Gil and Mike thanks for the compliments! Gil, I dig the older stuff quite a bit. I'll post up a few more in a new thread. Later, Lee
24. Thanks! I posted some of my work in the aircraft and armor forums...feel free to take a peek. Later, Lee
25. Thanks for the compliment, Glenn! I agree that a bit of TLC and forthought about how tyou wihs to improve an older kit can really make a difference. Plus the challenge is inspiring (at least it is for me). Later, Lee
