  1. Thank you, Mark! I know my picture quality is kinda lacking so that makes it tough to get a clean view of them. Later, Lee
  2. Already did...I love it! Thanks for the heads-up! Later, Lee
  3. In my mind...every day...it's a sickness. I will be building all five of the Jv44 Doras...one down and four to go! Later, Lee
  4. Next up is the old 1/35 Tamiya 2mm FLAK 38 that was a freebie. I did drill out the barrel, and added the trailer harness wiring. Nifty little kit! Lee
  5. So, here are some of my recent forays into armor. I tend to built aircraft and autos only. But I enjoy using armor for my displays to add character and size reference...plus it's a nice change of pace. First up is the 1/48 Tamiya Sherman. OOB and a fun, quick build. Lee
  6. Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone! I never really left the hobby as mucha s it was a sabbatical. My wife is VERY supportive of my hobby and enjoys my work. I did step away from IPMS though as I was discouraged by '99 when I bowed out. Talked back and forth with Chris Bucholtz, Joe Koss and Paul Cote and they helped me to give it another shot. All credit goes to those fine gents for putting em back here....along with what appears to be quite an improvement across the board in IPMS. Not sure about the Nats ever getting up to Alaska but that would be cool! Pricey though...nothing's cheap up here (gas is $3.62/gallon right now). Gil, you'll see me competing at the Cincy show and Blizzcon in Columbus once we get back. I did add pictures of some of my recent builds in the aircraft and armor sections. Hope that you all get a chance to look. Comments and critiques very welcome. Later, Lee
  7. And to end the slide show we have the 1/48 AMT Ju88A-4. Yes, that old kit. The tail wheel and mount was soooooo bad that I could not live with it. So, I scratchbuilt the mount/gear and added spare DML main and tail wheels. Decals are from the DML A-4 kit. You may shake your head and ask "Why?" but I just enjoy building and the challenge of making older kits look presentable is a real pleasure for me. Lee
  8. This is the 1/72 Aeroplast UH-1N that I used the -H model parts to backdate. I used an old set of Microscale decals but it's OOB otherwise. Our preacher was a crew chief and this was build for him. Spotty fit and iffy instructions but came out alright. He liked it and that's what mattered. Lee
  9. Next up is the 1/48 Tamiya Fw 190A-3. This one has a resin seat and Aeromaster decals and spares box stencils from Eduard and Propagteam. Quick, easy and a blast! Lee
  10. The old 1/48 Monogram Me 109E...yes, that kit. I always wanted to "dress it up" at some point. So, i dropped the flaps, slats, horizontal stabs, added a Hasegawa cockpit, main wheels, drop tank and mount. Also used the Hasegawa canopy with some moderate mods. And yes the landing gear still work! Markings came from an old Almark sheet. Lee
  11. Okay, next up is the Eduard Bf 109E-3. This was also a Modeling Madness review kit. OOB and was some work to get the cowling closed up properly. The engine was such a bummer that I just bypassed it. It's a beautiful kit for sure though. The standing figures are modified Tamiya pieces and the pilot is from the Matchbox '109E-3 kit and has been modified as well. Lee
  12. Next up is the 1/48 Monogram B-25H. This was built as a forthcoming review/build for Modeling Madness. It came to me in a Zip-loc partly started with no decals. The main gear were busted up badly and lots of glue gobs and such. The decals are from the Zotz sheet. I still need to do the exhaust stains. Later, Lee
  13. A few of you asked me to post some of my work up so here goes...these are all in the past 7-8 months. First up is the CA He 51 (1996 release)and my first complete rigging job. And teh poor thing took a nasty spill as I was finishing the dull coat...hence the slightly bent wires on the starboard side. OOB and boy I can see why you don't see many of these completed...not a quick or easy build.
  14. I ran into this issue myself...you can check out my build on Modeling Madness below. Basically I had to test-fit the completed engine six different times and cut down the engine mounts. It's a bit of a bear ...I've seriously thought about closing the cowling up on my next one and using one of the spare BMW 801s that come in the Tamiya Fw 190D-9 kits. http://modelingmadness.com/reviews/axis/lu...0/fogel190a.htm If you ahve any questions feel free to PM with them. Later, Lee
  15. My workbench in the end of October... and at the end of December. Later, Lee
  16. Just wanted to say "Hello". My name is Lee Fogel. I am in Alaska but will be moving back to Kentucky in July. Was a charter member of the Cincy group back in fall '95. I took a bit of a break thsi past decade from stuff...still built some kits (and collected plenty more) but things have settled down a bit and I'm back in the groove. My main interests are 1/48 and 1/32 scale prop aircraft (and any Penguin/Air Lines/FROG/Novo stuff!) along with the occasional F-4 or F-15. Later, Lee Fogel IPMS #35509
