I was stationed at Galena for a year and I saw this photo and had the Encore Kit.

New project

From the start I am not concerned about Case XX vs Case X wings.

Looking great Bill! Isn't this the old Monogram 1/48 kit with a bunch of resin/pe stuff added?

That ejection seat is looking great! The 102 and the 106 have been favs of mine, but then I like the whole Century Series and especially in 1/48th. Looking forward to more images.

Thanks Guys

Yes it is the Monogram Kit, and includes all its challenges plus the resin pieces also. smiley24.gifsmiley24.gif

This is not a Shake and bake........More like a Hope and Pray.

First coat of primer showed some serious challenges. More updates may take awhile.

Looks great so far Bill. Nice ejection seat and IP. We will be watching the progress.

I had expected the aircraft to be sporting large red areas, being based in Alaska during those times.

Duh!!! I didn't recognize that the first photo was B&W. A great scheme. Looking forward to watching your progress even more.

That's looking pretty slick! I actually mistook a 102 for a 106 at the WR Museum yesterday, but it wasn't a completely stupid mistake on my part. I looked at the tail and it was squared off up top and pointed out the "106". A buddy quickly corrected me saying, "no, 102. Look at the bulging around the exhaust". It was then we realized that the tip top of the 102's tail was missing, resulting in the resemblance to a 106.

That's going to be a very colorful Dagger! Looking forward to the finished pics!

Very impressive! And I assume it will have its own room for display purposes?

Wow,

Not even gonna do mine now. It would never match up! Great Job!!

Gorgeous! I also like the way you turned the nose wheel for that more dynamic appearance. Congrats!

Great job!!! You sure made the intakes blend into the fuselage. Great work all around.

Thanks for the compliments Guys

This aircraft goes way into lessons learned. I did have a passion for the project and thats what keeps me involved.

Thanks again for the comments and next project is 1/72nd scale.

Cheers
