DennisTennant Posted April 25, 2015 Report Posted April 25, 2015 Here's my latest project, finished, based and ready to go. It's the AFV Club kit of this ubiquitous German field gun. It's a lot fiddly but the finished result is worth it. I added some wooden crates and other tidbits (including real brass shell casings) on a Apoxie Clayshay base. I also added static grass applied with my home-built applicator.
Zglossip Posted April 25, 2015 Report Posted April 25, 2015 Nice this is great looking just curious are those brass casing from 22 shorts .
RobMorales Posted April 26, 2015 Report Posted April 26, 2015 Very nice work on the gun and groundwork!
Mark Deliduka Posted April 27, 2015 Report Posted April 27, 2015 Sweet job Dennis! That is one impressive model!
DennisTennant Posted April 27, 2015 Author Report Posted April 27, 2015 Thanks all! Every time I finish one of these ordnance pieces, I swear it'll be the last one I'll ever do. Very fiddly and the instructions were difficult to interpret. Still, I have an 88mm gun I'll probably start working on soon. I'm a sucker for punishment.
DennisTennant Posted April 27, 2015 Author Report Posted April 27, 2015 FYI, the shell casings are two-piece brass/photo etch items sold in a 20 pack by AFV Club. I ordered mine directly from Lucky Model.
802chrisg Posted April 27, 2015 Report Posted April 27, 2015 Looks great Dennis. Good luck at AMPS with this one. Chris G.
mustang1989 Posted May 22, 2015 Report Posted May 22, 2015 The detail and weathering.....................................Just spectacular! I could look at builds like this all day and see something new every time.
DennisTennant Posted May 22, 2015 Author Report Posted May 22, 2015 Thanks Chris and Joe. It won a silver medal at AMPS this year.
Mark Deliduka Posted May 22, 2015 Report Posted May 22, 2015 Congrats Dennis! It looks like all that 'punishment' paid off! Looking forward to your next 'punishing' effort.
