ghodges Posted August 21, 2013 Report Posted August 21, 2013 This is the Eduard (ex Mauve) kit. I had trouble with the wing roots on this one, but the rest of the build went ok. I also modified it to take Moskit exhausts. The markings are from a 3 Guys Replicas sheet. The decal diamonds for the rudder shattered, so I had to paint them. Glad to be through with this one, now on to the P-40E I already have in progress! Comments and critiques welcome, as always! GIL
Mark Deliduka Posted August 23, 2013 Report Posted August 23, 2013 I would never have guessed you painted those diamonds! That is some seriously pristine work! I bow to the Master!
WildBill50 Posted August 24, 2013 Report Posted August 24, 2013 Sweet build, Gil. A question on the Stars...why no blue border? Has it something to do with the markings? Love the weathering also. Bill
ghodges Posted August 26, 2013 Author Report Posted August 26, 2013 The white bars were a field add on to the round star insignia already on the plane during the time when the insignia was changed to the stars/bars on all planes being built. Thanks for all of the kind words! GIL
kpatterson Posted August 30, 2013 Report Posted August 30, 2013 Gil, P-40 looks awesome. I like the painted diamonds on the tail. -Ken
aAzZ09 Posted August 30, 2013 Report Posted August 30, 2013 Way to go, Gil! I love those diamonds on the tail. Best, Mark
Brews Posted September 26, 2013 Report Posted September 26, 2013 That's a very Bavarian-looking tail on that bird! Nice.
