  1. Chris, Just be aware that YOUR Michael's may not carry them. I just ran a check on the Michael's website and they only have two "sticko" items....neither of them Shimmering dots. Mark
  2. This was posted over on Missing Lynx......Has multiple options. I have no affliation with this company. http://www.network54.com/Forum/47211/messa...Light+Lens+Find
  3. We stopped at Nellis because the better half loves jets! The cool part was they had a good selection of armor out side the agressor area. If we ever do it again, I will try and make plans to get a tour of the inide fenced in area as well.
  4. Gil, Please..... The "Duke" is a MASTER builder. He throws them all into a huge box, and when he reaches inisde, he ALWAYS pulls out the right part....A true sign of model mastery!!!! Mark
  5. Ken, If memory serves, the bottom half held the ammo and the half moon was the feeder device! Mike, Did ya figure it out?????? Mark
  6. Ken, I have to say no on getting you info. The photos were taken enroute to Phoenix and our stop at Nellis. I don't even remember what building it was parked in front of, just that it was close to the airplane monuments they have there. Terribly sorry about that. Mark
  7. OK, Does anyone know why SS made the "In Action" books that way? Was it a popular format? WWP and several others have released books that way as well. Mark
  8. Wingy Thingy Fellows, Thanks to yours truly(I took the pics) and Mike Lindsey(He posted them) there are now four new aircraft (Su-7, Mig-17, Mig-21, and Mig-29) walk arounds! TreadHead
  9. Fellow TreadHeads, Thanks to yours truly(I took the pics) and Mike Lindsey(He posted them) there are now five new armor(M3, M47, T54, T62, T72) walk arounds and three MISC(Sam2, SA3, and ZU-23-4) walk arounds! Mark
  10. Are we speaking from experience????? Way to go Goober!!!! What do you expect from somone one that lives in the "STICKS"!
  11. Those things are great for using as a super glue palette.
  12. So here are the updates of my IDF Achilles... The Hull Before... And After.... The Bogies before... And After! Four Bolts added to the top skid Four bolts added to the return roller mount Four Holes drilled into the opposite side of the Bogie
  13. Pete, I have to agree. I still use Easy Off to do any stripping. Unfortunately, the WARNING label does not explain that you will lose several layers of skin off your finger tips if you DON'T wear protective gloves. It just says wear protective gloves. After my first use, I now wear protective gloves. The stinging sensation wasn't bad but the feeling of my super glossy ridgeless fingertips was very odd for the rest of the day. Mark
  14. Rick, Sorry about the blog link. I figured you could make your own decision if someone explained in deatail the "what and why" of the build. Osprey seems to think that only 100 "early" BergePanthers were produced. There are a couple in the Panther Variants book but no unit assignments are given. Not Very useful. It wasneat to see that early on the 2cm gun was designed to be added but was actually not ready when the first 30 rolled out.
  15. Tamiya Two Part putty is the same way! I have had the same container since 97 and it still hasn't dried out. It mixes easy, sands well and is slightly sticky but a little water on the fingers keeps that down.
  16. Rick, Here are a couple links.....these might help if you read through them. The first is a build blog of the Italeri kit. http://www.militarymodelling.com/forums/po...h=26575&p=1 http://www.track-link.net/articles/42 http://www.track-link.net/articles/43 Best of luck on your build!!
  17. Way koool!!! Makes me wanna go pull one of my Aurora Prehistorics and build it!!!!
  18. With splatter it could also be too much pressure or moisture build up at the tank. I swear by the pressure regulator/moisture trap I now have.
  19. Great work Chris, I picked up a HOLD-N-FOLD at the Nats. Got sick and tired of trying to bend the long pieces of brass on fenders. Now I just gotta find someplace that sells phot-etch scrap. Makes things like steps and flat bar grab rails so much easier. Ken said: But then again, I'm just an aircraft guy pondering a step or two into the dark side again. Teheee! Armor is NOT the Dark Side.....It is the other way around!!!!
  20. Very Nice indeed!!!
  21. So here are some parts I have had to convert. The sighting tube is too angled but I dare not try and straighten it anymore. Getting ready to lay on some interior paint. Because the Brits/French/Israeli's carried the ammo sans tubes, I am waiting for some Verlinden 17 pdr rounds to arrive and fill the hull sponsons.
  22. RB models also carries a full line of workable shackles. http://www.rbmodel.com/index.php?action=pr..._bm&sub=35A
  23. For the life of me I think it was tubed super glue and I must have mashed it out with my elbow or something.
  24. OK...one time at Band Camp.....really it was in the barracks room. I somehow managed to get superglue out of the bottle onto my work bench and then place my hand onto the large puddle and basically superglue the whole palm of my hand to the table. It hurt so much trying to peel my hand off the table! Never again.
  25. I think we still have one in Washington State.... IPMS/Puget Sound Auto Modelers Association
