wdedig Posted December 10, 2024 Report Posted December 10, 2024 End of 2024 1/350 USS Johnston was one of the destroyer escorts for Taffy 3 . Infamous for the Battle off Samar 25 October 1944. Fantastic story and heroic actions by the destroyers versus a much larger Japanese force. Ship was painted in Measure 21 which was mostly Naval Blue and Deck Blue Uschi rigging,3d Printed weapons, Brass mainmast and yardarms and numerous other features added to this ship. This is the Tamiya Fletcher ship model with quite a few changes for late war outfitting. Starting with a 3d printed Square Bridge which I added a tarp surrounded upper railing and photo-etched doors. I also used the Trumpeter USS The Sullivans for numerous items such as the center section and the aft gun platform for the 20 mm Toms Modelworks Fletcher Photo-etch was used throughout ,including railings ,depth-charge racks and radars. 1/2"Brass Gun Barrels from L'ARSENAL Thanks for Looking Comments Always welcome Cheers Bill D 2
