ghodges Posted October 25, 2024 Report Posted October 25, 2024 This is the classic 1/32 Revell P-51B Mustang with some needed enhancements since it was originally released way back in '69. The raised rivets were removed and the model rescribed, an Aires resin cockpit was installed, True Details resin tires were used; as well as grabbing the drop tanks, radiator face, and nose filter vent panels from the newer Revell 1/32 P-51D kit. 3D printed resin exhaust pipes were used along with resin Quickboost prop blades. I also dropped the flaps for that "more candid look". 😉 The D-day stripes were all painted including the cutouts for the side codes. The squadron markings are from Kits World decals with stars/bars from the spares box. There were other enhancements and detailing done and there's a full build log up in the "Build" topic area for anyone interested in all the gory details of bringing this kit more in line with today's models. For those of you who may not want to do the work, just wait until next year! Eduard has announced a NEW 1/32 P-51B for then! 🙂 On to the rest of the finished pics! I hadn't planned on building this when it was given to me at a meeting.... but then found it fit the next club theme build so I decide to wade into it, finishing it in about 3 weeks.
