  1. Fantastic work! Would love to see a how to on the wheels. I have a 1/12 scale 1917 Harley "collectable" that I want to rebuild into the motorcycle that my grandfather rode in WWI. Dave Henning Redfield, AR
  2. Welcome Donald! There is a great group of modelers in Shreveport. Their annual show is coming up on March 19th at LSU-Shreveport. There should be a link on the IPMS contest calendar. Great show and great vendor room. My son and I come down from the Little Rock area almost every year. Dave Redfield, AR
  3. A new 1/72 B-47e! How long can they keep re-releasing the old Hasegawa kit? At least now there are aftermarket accessories for it!
  4. I didn't think that the B model came out until the late 70s or early 80s. If I remember correctly, the B model was stretched and an inflight refueling receiver was added. I think that the ones during Vietnam were A models and were in the gray and white paint scheme. Can't help you on the search-but good luck. Maybe you'll have better luck with the A model.
  5. My dad was in QC on the Mace at Sembach when I was born in 1965. Came across Fred's article in an old copy of the journal that I picked up at a library sale at the San Diego Aerospace Museumback in the mid 80s, went home and bought the History Makers kit while in college and got started modifying it. Converted the doghouse on the end to a production end, painted it a zinc chromate and silver scheme that Dad recalled from the 38th birds, started on the MM-1, and then for some reason put it away (think it might have been from a crack that developed in the converted, painted, decaled rear fuselauge or painting all of those vinyl two piece wheels a color that resembled actual tires). Maybe it's time to pull it out and finally finish it. (Was even inspired to build working wing hinge attachments from Fred's articles). Some great websites out there as well and found some photo cds from the Air Force Missiliers Association as well. Dave Henning
  6. Trying to plan for yearly trip to DFW area and Squadron's open house. Have been looking for a date for Scalefest in the calendar and NCTIPMS's website, but haven't found out any info yet. Thanks, Dave
  7. http:\\modelingmadness.com/reviews/mod/us/usaf/stewc17.htm I think that Finescale Modeler has a build up review as well. Still haven't started mine, but had the article nearby.

    SAC Snark

Here are some photos of the Snarks as they were dismantled at Presque Isle AFB. These are from a CD from the Assoc. of Air Force Missilires (www.afmissileers.org). The warhead sections look like they have SAC band, but I cant see any badges. In a previous post that I made on finescale modelers forum, others that grew on on the base state that the sash and badge were on operational birds.
