Mark Aldrich Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 Fellow TreadHeads....and you know I say that with all the love and affection that can be mustered! I am thrilled that all of you seem to be working and posting pictures of your works. Just a little favor......Since you are going to have your camera out anyways......snap off a shot of the boxart and email it to tacomaipms@comcast.net. That way, if it is not in the collection (getting larger daily) it can be added. Mark
Mark Deliduka Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 I guess I can get a few of my 1/72 scale armor boxes shot before disposing of them...
RGronovius Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 What kind of box tops? New kits, common stuff from the stash or extremely rare or vintage kits?
ewahl Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 Hi, Rob, Any and all box art images can be sent in. Duplicates can be weeded out at the host's posting process to avoid many images of the same box art. I sent in non-duplicate 2,439 images when this project was first getting started. They ranged from old and rare to common and recent. Those images form the core of what you see now in the galleries, and many more have been added. New releases need to be added, even if they are a repop of old plastic with new artwork (or photos, as many boxes now are presented). Get your cameras working! Remember to identify each box with the file naming format requested. Ed
Dick Montgomery Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 Following on Ed'scomment we are looking for any box art, not just armor. In order to use the powerful and flexible search feature in this gallery we name the file with a combination of kit name, manufacturer, item # and scale. For example a P-51 Mustang would be P.51.Monogram.PA103.48th Searching by P-51 or Monogram or PA103 or 48th would find this image. Ed's significant contribution of box art represented well over 75 or 80% of the original content but as time goes by we are adding more meat to that skeleton. I'd like to spend several hours wandering around in Ed's storage space...that would be fun! I haven't checked the total number of images in a while but the album is growing steadily.
Mark Aldrich Posted January 5, 2011 Author Report Posted January 5, 2011 I've set up a Excel Spreadsheet for the armor so when I get new boxart, I can see if it is one we already have posted or add it. I add armor kits as they are reviewed and more from my stash as time permits.
