JTRACING Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 completed this one, Tamiya 1/48 kit my own paint scheme I like the desert colors!
Mark Aldrich Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 Very Nice.....Gotta use the yellow on the cowling of my Corsair!
ghodges Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 Absolutely lovely Emil! I particularly like your weathering. What did you use for your panel lines and how did you apply the exhaust staining? Looks like it was used in a harsh desert environment! Thanks for sharing! GIL
JTRACING Posted December 30, 2010 Author Report Posted December 30, 2010 thanks dudes! for my panel lines, after i apply future while its was still gloss i use black acrylic just brush the whole plane and wipe it off. then after i have my flat coat on i went back with oil washes of brown shades. really thinned down and applied over and over until i like what i saw. exhaust stain is airbrushed then some pastel to finish it off. all other weathering is oils sealed under the flat coat.
66Foxtrot Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 Love the weathering! You might consider re-scribing the panel line along the top of the fuselage. The 109s were actually assembled like a big model kit, from the cockpit aft. A left and right fuselage half, and a tail plug.
TimHortman Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 Nice work James - Thanks for sharing!
skysoldier46 Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 I love that color scheme. I was at HobbyTown USA in Murfreesboro yesterday and bought real cheap an Academy 109E3/4 in 1/72d scale. think I'll paint it up in those colors. It's a real simple kit I'm building OOB with no frills.
