Wulf Posted October 2, 2008 Report Posted October 2, 2008 This is AM's 1/48 Avenger. I took it a step further and added a complete interior and removed a section of fuselage so the belly interior could be seen. I used the super PE set, scratchbuilt details and figures from Verllinden. The finish is MM acrylics. I found an actual picture of #21 and modeled the kit after that plane. The weathering portrayed came directly from the picture. Comments and crit welcomed... Andy
David M. Knights Posted October 2, 2008 Report Posted October 2, 2008 I love that scheme on the Avenger. So much better than the overall blue.
Mike Lindsey Posted October 2, 2008 Report Posted October 2, 2008 Fantastic! As accurate a representation as you're likely to see. . . And a big double ditto on Mr. Knights comment. Great scheme. . .
ghodges Posted October 2, 2008 Report Posted October 2, 2008 Wow! That's a very pretty build! I especially like the way you wore off part of the wing walks. The weathering looks spot-on to me; not too heavy and not too light. Congrats on a very nice model! Thanks for posting! GIL
Wulf Posted October 3, 2008 Author Report Posted October 3, 2008 Exceptionally well executed. I'm curious...how long/how much time invested? Thanks James....this one took about 2 months but I spent a lot of time on it during those 2 months. Probably looking at 50+ hours on it. Andy
Keith Pruitt Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 Nice work!! Looks great! Awesome detail work on the interior...and the wear on the wingwalks really is icing on the cake!
tom Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 Plane looks great. My only criticism is with the figure, he's to glossy. You need to put some dull coat on his clothes.
Wulf Posted October 3, 2008 Author Report Posted October 3, 2008 Thanks for the kind comments guys... Andy
TimHortman Posted October 11, 2008 Report Posted October 11, 2008 Nice work! I too like this scheme more than others I have seen. Great idea with the cut away.
