Dick Montgomery Posted April 26, 2010 Report Posted April 26, 2010 Just completed, this is the 72nd LS kit of the Ki-109
TimHortman Posted April 26, 2010 Report Posted April 26, 2010 Nice kit Dick! How did this fit together for you? Any major issues? I've had a few of these over the years, but dumped them all when Hasegawa came out with their kit. (now that is next to impossible to find!)
David M. Knights Posted April 26, 2010 Report Posted April 26, 2010 I want to build the Hase version of that one.
adfogel Posted April 26, 2010 Report Posted April 26, 2010 Very ncie work, sir! That's a sweet paint job. Later, Lee
Dick Montgomery Posted April 26, 2010 Author Report Posted April 26, 2010 I seldom do 1/72 scale aircraft so I was not aware that Hasegawa made one of these things. This, as I noted in my post, is the LS kit. I bought this kit in an on-line estate sale and I think I got my $5 worth of fun. Not a difficult kit by any means even though the fit of the wheel well forward bulkheads is a bit sketchy, but who cares! This was a "kill some time" build! Clear parts will need some TLC. The overall fit is good, the detail is recessed, and I even used the original decals for the most part. Interior detail is "early airfix" or "early frog". I wanted to build this one to practice that camo scheme and get some quality time with the 'ol airbrush. I used an Iwata Eclipse and had very little trouble getting the webbed lines laid down. Don't know if the colors are right but I stole....er, borrowed, a scheme I found on the internet.
ghodges Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 Nice camo job. Wish there was one of those in 1/48! GIL
