After my return from my vacation, I was able to get a couple aircraft completed. This first one is the HobbyCraft 1/72 scale Canadian Otter:

This second one is a model I purchased at the San Diego Model Expo back in June. It is the Special Hobby 1/72 scale JRS-1 Flying Boat. This one is done in the scheme of the aircraft that went out looking for the Japanese Fleet after the Pearl Harbor attack:

There's one more I completed that you can find in the Automotive section. Thank you for looking in and comments are welcome.

Both look great, but I really love those yellow wings! Being a Special Hobby kit, did it give you any problems?

Thank you Gil! Surprisingly not too many problems. One was the propellers wouldn't stay glued straight, but I managed to get them to sit right. The other was the windows on the sides; two-thirds of them came unglued and fell inside the fuselage so I just added new windows with window cement. I should have known better.

I can commiserate on the windows issue. That's why I've started using UV cured clear resin for those things!

Great job on both Mark!! The paint scheme on the Otter is pretty cool but that JRS-1 and it's Yellow Wings are just glorious! BTW.....I can just hear it now. "Men, we've been attacked by a large force of Japanese Naval aircraft from points unknown. We need volunteers to take the JRS on a search mission to find them.....who wants to volunteer?" 😬😬😬😬

I agree Gil. I haven't any clear resin so I rely on the Testor's Window Cement for mine. It works out. I even added windows to a 1/72 scale truck recently instead of trying to cut acetate.

Thank you Keith! Yeah, I can hear it and I can also envision a heavy response to that offer, given how pissed everyone had to have been experiencing that event.

May I recommend  G-S Hypo Cement, widely used to cement watch crystals.  Can be smoothed when fresh with alcohol, or removed entirely with 91% or better alcohol.  Dries crystal clear, and I've used it for several years.  Best of all, unlike Testor's, it doesn't attach the plastic, yet holds very well!

I get mine on Amazon here.

Anyway, two really nice-looking aircraft.  Well done.

Thank you Ed, both for the compliments and the suggestion. I'll look into that once I get paid, it sounds like a great product.
